As the title suggests, what are some toys that hold up really well in spite of being quite old?I'd say a lot older Figmas are still quite good even by today's standards. In particular I'd single out the Madoka Magica Figmas- they capture the characters extremely well and for the most part are really fun, poseable expressive toys.
>>11668053The knees, too. The NECA one was at least sturdier. Idk what happened to pic related, I would have bought two.
I love my k-on figma, even if they are 15 years oldStill need to find Nodoka
>>11670922$25 is a good price for what they are, but whoever you bought it from definitely paid $10 at most. And almost all the females were super easy to get. I was able to buy almost the complete line at $5 per figure, including that giant armored figure.Literally a shit ton of stock, but the one figure i wanted that i couldn't find was that black/arab chick with the submachine gun. For whatever reason, i never saw her at the 5 stores i frequently visited.. but i did see her full price. No thanks, since i mainly just want the little gun she came with.I skipped on a few figures, like that Shipwreck wannabe and the pegleg old man. Ugly and their guns were shit too.I bought the Metroid chick twice, because it's cool faceless army buildable metroid chick. They can act as upstart merc competitors to my Figma Samus.
My holy grail
>>11671628UOOOOOOOOOH etc.
The fall of shf needs to be studied. This material is beyond shit. Literally crumbling out of the box. I got decade old toys that don't have that and probably never will. This is why I quit buying shfslop. Bandai can't make toys.
>>11663269go ahead, keep posting schizo
>>11663269below neca-tier quality
>>11662484Guts, OP is a retard but that figure it's a QC nightmare.
>>11662567>>11662622Those aren't breaks... they just popped balls out of their sockets.
>>11663269This was shilled hard here
Is forward crunch the hardest point of articulation to pull off properly?
Jada's SF figures (or the two I own) have pretty good forward crunch.
>>11668957FWIW Chun-Li here isn't using her hips, the floating skirt-piece is being pushed over like that by the abs.
>>11668957>>11668958Perfection!
Am I doing it right?
IMO one of the hardest joint setups to do well, up there with ab crunches, is the pelvis. Getting a hip setup that allows for good range without looking atrocious in more dynamic poses is really hard, especially when you factor in thigh swivels. I feel like Snail Shell and Second Axe have done them the best with the "twin stalk" hips (that is a double-ended balljoint armature for each leg going into the torso with a floating pelvis overlay). SHF's newer hips are pretty clever with the "shrouds" that can cover over the joints as the figure moves without leaving gaps or inhibiting joint range but they only work for certain character designs.>>11669344Kek.
Does it bug anyone else how much Kenner dropped the ball on the T2 line? The Endoskeleton is basically the only genuinely good figure in the whole line. I know it was common practice for companies (especially Kenner) to get creative with the designs, but the sculpt work and gimmicks basically ruin every figure. The Exploding T-1000 and Power Arm Terminator are tolerable but do weird things like making the T-800 sleeveless of the T-1000 half silver. I can understand what they were going for with the T-1000 but it would have made more sense to give him the power arm gimmick and make his alternate arms his various weapons from the movie (or make some up like a giant axe). Even as a kid this stuff bugged the hell out of me and I had no interest in the line beyond the Endoskeleton. It's just such a weird drop in quality given how amazing their Alien and Predator lines turned out.
>>11672018Oh man I hate thinking about stuff like that. God knows how many good toys were sent to meet their demise in some unmarked mass grave surrounded by broken bottles and spoiled cabbages. I really wish we could make a bigger habit of donating old toys. Maybe that's changed for the better nowadays. Just a quick glance over FB marketplace gives me that feeling anyways.>I would love to take some old beater figures that are already broken and use them for customs. I'm sure you could attach the leather jacket arms off the Jack Slater onto the Power Arm Terminator and it wouldn't look too out of scale. Just dye the plastic black and it would be great.Honestly you'd be surprised how many beaters populate Ebay these days. I came across pic related the other night. Poor bastard doesnt even have a head anymore. Seems like the ideal candidate for a Slater partswap. Even as far as your arm idea goes, I was thinking of drawing some rough mock ups for sleeved arms incase anyone ITT was experienced with 3D modelling enough to make such additions a reality. In T2, Arnie spends most of the run time wearing gloves. You wouldnt even have to paint the hands! All you'd have to ensure is that you got the arm pegs right.
>>11672013Great instinct! As of now Im stuck on colors for the Robo-copter. Full black seems bland, all silver seems no less flashy. I guess it could come with a bunch of new stickers to liven things up? Alot of the human resistance iconography didnt come about until salvation.
What's the most underrated Kenner line? My picks are Batman Beyond and Small Soldiers.
>>11671553>I know what you're getting at with the teethSpeaking of toy companies/Skynet stick Terminator faces on everything.
>>11672564You're not wrong, even considering that Coupe kenner included in the T2 line, but I like keeping things simple for now. Since you've mentioned it though, I'll never understand how or why kenner didnt make a line based off the Robocop vs Terminator comic. That book got two video games and tv commercials! They could have made a mint.
Will there be a shirtless seph figure with the ultima weapon as a bonus, or am I hoping too much?
>>11665599>ultima weapon for cloudrecreating the final duel would be indeed pretty cool.
>>11665633Fixed
>>11665635I already recreated the battle with the figures that they have available, I just want shirtless seph and ultima weapon.
They’ll make a shirtless version and he still won’t have any ab crunch at all.
>>11665535I hope they re-release Zack and give him an alt head depicting his smile. The current figure just feels soulless without it.

>>11671519Yeah I don't order from BBTS and go to other places so can't really tell you if its strictly a them problem or what. My reasoning is because since I'm a old a fuck dude, I heard BBTS was basically a repurposed Clawmark Toys which for those who don't know those dudes suck ass who overpriced everything and had horrible shipping times.
This dropped last night. Trailer expected to drop as soon as February
>>11671528>Two blue lightsWe finally getting a film where there's two Godzilla's walking around? Would be funny it would be basically War of the Gargantua's where there's a Good Godzilla and a Evil one.
>>11671525Nah BBTS is a solid bet just with some caveats. Their prices are high and they are quite often lagged well behind the overseas retailers but it's super rare they don't deliver.

What do we do to stop shf from getting worse each year while raising the prices. There hasn't been a SINGLE release without issues in years now. The new goku is practially a landmine of QC issues and let's not even start with how low quality the one piece and mha line are...or god forbid, the berserk figures.

>>11669845Also with some very minimal work you can take Hasbro's goggles off.(Apologies for the superglue frosting on the Hasbro one BTW, need to get the rest of them off. Repairing her was a pain.)Overall I'd say the Figma is definitely the better figure overall, BUT the Hasbro one could be a lot worse, and she does have a very cute face. If you can find a way to adapt the Hasbro head to the Figma body that might actually make for a really good looking Tracer.
>>11669846Thanks for the breakdown, Anon. Hasbro's biggest strength seemed to be balancing quality and cost, since I know figmas were about three times more expensive, but some of the Hasbro figs go for a lot more nowadays.

>>11668693But f you look at the toys advertised for younger kids, it's still largely based on the G1 , long after most 80's kids stopped having toddlers. That's my point. The Armada and Animated based stuff is for nostalgic fans in the collectors lines, not how the characters are presented for younger audiences. If you get a Rescue bots Optimus or a generic evergreen toy, they're gonna have hallmarks of the G1 design, not Armada or RiD or even the movies. The closest we get is Optimus Primal being in the rotation of evergreen characters now.
>>11669929Speaking of ReAction and Ultimates!... Is Super7 just done with MMPR? I was really loving their Zords and villains/monsters. As far as I'm aware the Ultimates! didn't even attempt for a new wave after the one with Bulk & Skull (which were successful), and ReAction advertised Lord Drakkon and Shellshock figures that still haven't come yet. Both lines still had plenty of main characters to work their way through... What happened?
