How in the shit has this never been released on home video or streaming?

She is 29 years old in real life with nipple piercings, a kid and a divorce. Who thought it was a good idea to cast her as cherished and beloved video game character Lara Croft?

Too short to emotionally connect with the cast but I get what they were trying to do. Couldn't stop thinking this would have worked wonderfully as a short miniseries of 8 episodes or so, 1 for each family
>>217385313I meant the whole "hiring actors to pretend to be family members"
It's by a TV director who can't really cut it in <2hr I guess.
>>217385375Could have been a feelsfest about sadness and people but under 2hrs it just fell flat. Each person needed 1 hour to shine and each episode could have been a different character and Brendan growing as a person, learning something from each othe of them, adding something to his empty apartment from each client.

Paramount has just put YOU in charge of Star Trek and given you the budget and authority to do whatever the hell you want with the franchise. What do you do, Anon?
>>217385804Anon that was three writers strikes ago.
>>217382050Eugenics Wars.I want to see Khan drop himself naked into Ethiopia, with nothing to his name or even a name. To prove to himself and to humanity that he can speed run civilization to become powerful enough to conquer the world. If you have the will, you can literally do anything. Then build out the franchise with later movies.
>Set design faithful to the old ones (with functional, but aesthetic lighting)>Hire respectable, white male science fiction writers with strict rules against overtly involving current events.>No contemporary verbiage, people talk like adults>Hire serious actors
>>217382050Honestly, I would make a show that isn’t overly “cinematic” or serious. OG trek was a little silly, and that’s the heart of sci-fi in general. The more serious and doomsday everything is, the more it leans into just a space opera. I’d cut back on the amount of lens flare in every shot (seriously, every shot in SNW and Academy is like a flashbang), stop making every set shiny as hell, and go back to practical makeup for (most of) the alien races, where it’s feasable. Also, I want them to hire writers who actually know star trek. Idc if it’s old trek writers or fanfic writers, anyone whose actually passionate about the series and wants to make a good show. I’d also erase Discovery and Academy. I fuckin hate “The Burn” it makes no sense and isn’t sci-fi at all, it’s just a lazy excuse for Kurtzman to write a dystopian trek. Overall, i just want something that feels more like older episodic trek with lower stakes and less of the modern netflix-adjacent overbudget cinematic look. I miss the look of TNG and DS9. Oh, and if i had to reboot any series, it’d be LDS. Hot take but it’s the best nutrek series and the only one that left me wanting more of it. The bar isn’t very high there, though.
>>217385978I got into star trek probably a little over a year ago, I'm just now starting voyager. Ironically all the buzz about the new shows being terrible compared to writing in the past was what got me curious.Having a lot of fun with Trek, but I've heard so many negative things about nu-trek I'll probably avoid it. That being said if they return to form I'll tune in in a heartbeat.
>I don’t really have any regrets. Well, maybe a bit of regret about Solo: A Star Wars Story. I brought Larry Kasdan in on, and we were so excited about that idea. And then when you’re into something and you realize fundamentally, conceptually, you cannot replace Han Solo, at least right now.>DEADLINE: Harrison Ford is a hard act to follow…>KENNEDY: As wonderful as Alden Ehrenreich was, and he really was good, and is a wonderful actor, we put him in an impossible situation. And once you’re in it and once you’re committed, you’ve got to carry on. I think I have a bit of regret about that, but not about the moviemaking and filmmaking. I don’t have regrets about that. I just think that conceptually, we did it too soon.https://deadline.com/2026/01/kathleen-kennedy-exit-interview-1236665253/
