This movie's rabbit hole goes very deep and no one ever talks about it for some reason. It's basically Polanski taunting the audience about how the world really works and how untouchable elites like him are -- he re-enacted the ending IRL afterwards and got away with it just like the villain in the movie. They might think that child abuse is more evil than their own crimes, but so what? where do they get off acting like a righteous avenger, are they going to avenge their own victims next? Most people aren't really good or evil, they're mostly just neutral and willing to switch sides back and forth for temporary advantage. 2 hours and 20 minutes of a dude talking to a CGI crab and making funny dances. Maybe 20 minutes of actual story, science or something interesting in general. I was bored and I wanted it to end. I have almost no interest in watching it again. I prefer 2001 A Space Odyssey, Interstellar, Gravity and The Martian above this one.
