I don't recall Jeremiah Johnson being an italian film
>>217480745yeah
>>217478142>Glenn Ford is probably my favorite movie star in westerns, any western he's in is top tier. If you haven't watched jubal, you shouldHe used to do all his own stunts because there was nobody else who could do the kind of shit he could do without breaking every bone in their body. I don't know where he got his athleticism, but that dude could move like a fucking panther when he wanted to. I have no problem believing that he could whip a whole room full of big tough men who were all ready to fight, and not even break a fucking sweat. And he's not a big man, and nor does he carry himself like he's dangerous, he could just as easily play a college professor or a humble shopkeep, but good God, I'd be extra polite if I ever happened to meet him. Even when he was old.I think that's why they cast him to play Superman's human dad in the Superman movie, because people who knew who he was would have no problem believing that he could give young Superman a spanking if he had to.
Are there any westerns from the 60s as good as the early Hollywood epics like Spartacus, Ben-Hur and Jason and Argonauts?
>>217481386True GritHow The West Was WonHombreThe Good, The Bad, And The UglyButch Cassidy And The Sundance KidJust off the top of my head. 50's and 60's is the Golden Age of Westerns, in the 60's especially, you have the best of the old breed still in top form, only getting better with age, and the new breed coming into their prime simultaneously.

>>217480897I can tell you how Return to Silent Hill is gonna go right now.Critics are gonna hate it, rake it over the coals a confusing, mediocre psychological horror with some flashy scenes but cliche plot.Gamers are gonna hate it, they'll shit on it with a burning passion for not being an exact replica of how they felt the third time they got bonus alien ending.A tiny few horror fans will say it was good, and fun for what it is despite bad CGI.20 years later everyone will say it was is one of the better videogame adaptions.
>>217476037I believe you mean THIS
>>217481355It was originally a short film, which I think was the middle section. And then they got such a good response, they went back and filmed the rest. So I can forgive it for being a bit uneven. Hope they make another one.

Walt's ego had grown so large by season 5 he thought he could just rename people like Jesus renaming Simon to "Peter"
It was a sign of his declining mental stability, he was acting like he was setting up some kind of dungeons and dragons roleplay game with made-up characters>ok I'll be Heisenberg, and you'll be Guddam WrightIn other words he saw all of this murder and drug dealing as nothing more than a fun game
Isn't it just a running theme in Breaking Bad that all the characters have like 200 different names ?
he also renamed isaac to hank
>>217480509And like Jesus, he was betrayed.

>>217474307I can't comment on his sex appeal because I'm not a woman, but there is something either charismatic or magnetic about the character, that can't be recreated in the same way now.People joke about this being Stav but they're worlds apart.
>>217474307No joke, a relative of mine went to high school with him.But the story ends there as my relative recently passed and there wasn't really any story behind it. But it is weird having that tangential connection.

>>217480535Now go disappoint yourself on episode 1
>>217480283I was fourteen when it came out and I had no interest in it. I saw some of the series on TV around that time and it looked really juvenile and embarrassing. It's weird how many Star Wars fans insist this is great. The original animated series of the same name that focuses solely on battles from the clone wars is pretty great. It was a good way to tide over people who were craving more Star Wars until Revenge of the Sith came out (which, to my amazement, showed almost none of the actual clone wars with the exception of a few scenes that distracted from the bulk of the film, which is just Anakin stomping around Coruscant.) What I really hate about the show is how it ruined Darth Maul. It brought him back just to completely ruin his character and give him a really lame death. My friends and I had theorized that he might come back in Revenge of the Sith. I wasn't apposed to the idea of him coming back as a cyborg, it's just that show took away all his coolness and made him incredibly lame.
>>217480596Episode I is a fun, entertaining, and lively movie despite its obvious flaws. Seeing it in the theater when I was about to turn five was a religious experience for me. I still love it in spite of everything, mainly for nostalgic reasons, but I struggle to understand how someone could actually hate it. The finale with the four different battles going on at the same time and the way they mirror each other tonally is actually really impressive, although Anakin destroying the trade federation on accident was a really stupid decision.
>>217480431The actual episodes are all I really care about. I hated the Clone Wars series and the movie looks no better to me. The original Clone Wars series is great for what it is. I like how it just feels like snapshots of the Clone Wars, which you got to see almost none of in Revenge of the Sith (amazing considering how Attack of the Clones set up the outbreak of the clone wars, as if III was just going to be a whole lot more of that.) The same people who like the CG Clone Wars are the same people who think Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie (it's the only one of the original six films that I don't like, completely idiotic writing and feels nothing like Star Wars.)
>>217480982>The original animated series of the same name that focuses solely on battles from the clone wars is pretty great. It was a good way to tide over people who were craving more Star Wars until Revenge of the Sith came out yeah those were fun. and they worked better as little shorts, just vignettes between full cartoons. good stuff. but it was odd going from that Grievous to the one in RotS. i guess Lucas just liked the design?i wonder if they intentionally left a bit of a gap with the Clone Wars, knowing that'd be the focus for spin-offs. a bit like Shadows of the Empire but intended ahead of time.anyway i can enjoy the Star Wars films even though they're mostly fairytale stories for kids. at age 3 or age 33. but the Clone Wars cartoon seemed so aggressively aimed at 12-year-olds. "it's going to be dark, more aimed at teenagers/adults, characters can die!" etc.also the Thunderbirds style looks ridiculous in 3D graphics. why are they all made of wood?
Why doesn’t this get talked about more?
You can’t really half ass it with Garth Ennis. That’s why The Boys, Preacher, and Punisher (he didn’t create the character, but he perfected him) was so watered down. Come to think of it, Hitman is the only series that could be done without too much changing. (They would have to update certain things. It’s a very 90’s comic) Mostly because DC really put a cap on the crazy shit he could do.
>>217481352Why didn’t they do the preacher show on hbo or showtime or some shit where they could do whatever
>>217481352Why would a vampire have a cross earring when it's established they hate crosses?
>>217481484They were going to. This was in development for a very long time. A movie staring Ben Aflac was in the works. There was an article about it in Wizard magazine. (Yes, I’m that old.)
>>217481546Because they don’t. In that same issue the leader talks about how most of the things that hurt vampires in legend doesn’t work. And Hacken is deeply stupid.

>>217481141How is it too choreographed? That's how the Jedi fought during that period. It was a different era than the original trilogy, so they would have fought in a different, more artful way. You're just an idiot who lets other idiots think for you.
>>217481379it was a different era, that's why they talk like the guy who wrote their dialogue wasn't a native english speaker
>>217481398Yeah, people speak differently as the times change, so it's more realistic that way. If you went back in time fifty years to a hundred years, you'd be thinking, "Wtf, why are all these people talking like baby boomers? This doesn't make any sense! Horrible writing, if I'm being honest."
