No I didn't come across anything standout either. Some decent songs here and there, but nothing I cared to listen to outside the drama

one thing that makes all the sense in the world I don't understand why nobody has done is make the fucking EU a cartoon series
how many fucking seasons of that shit is already plotted out and sitting there
call it legends don't make it canon whatever who gives a shit just do it, mindbogglingly stupid not to espectially when fucking Hamill would and could do it on his deathbed

>respect other people's contributions way more than George did
why would you respect people's contributions when they hardly understand the thing you've created and their contributions are dogshit? reminder that most people think star wars is just world war two in space. dave at least understands there's more nuance to it and the huge samurai influence as well as flash gordon shit. dave also has flavors of george's autism, which is why he was handpicked as the disciple. it's not an uncommon practice to hire people that have a vested interest to see your product grow and your ideas expand, but when they themselves have no idea how your idea functions, they're very useless apart from sales and marketing.
>>
>>217413069
>why would you respect people's contributions when they hardly understand the thing you've created and their contributions are dogshit?
fuck the dogshit I'm talking about the good bits from the writers
>when they themselves have no idea how your idea functions, they're very useless apart from sales and marketing.
how it functions as what, exactly
George changed his mind about what was happening a bunch over decades and every time he did, the timeline of when he intended that changed with it
this was never some 6 film series all about Anakin until he decided it was in the 90's and he wanted to do prequels
>>
>>217413069
forgot to mention george was that company because he handled both business and creative decisions. the split between furloni and this tranny lady is going to be a mess, on account of they've already effectively been in these positions for the last several years and the ip has had a steady nosedive in those years. it won't get better unless there's a serious change in direction and control of quality.
>>
>>217413127
>I'm talking about the good bits from the writers
george absolutely respected those bits. he didn't name coruscant. he didn't create aayla secura or quinlan vos. but he sure as shit added them to the canon.
>George changed his mind
yeah things happen
also the prequels were first created when he was writing empire, he had some backstory shit from the first movie but that was either scrapped or rewritten into a looser version of the prequel trilogy. mind you it was still supposed to be 12 films at that point.

Every filmmaker on earth gets shit with age, this has been known since the dawn on art, as old farts don't have the same youthful passion and become out of touch.
The problem is that there's no replacements, because your normally competent people are pushed out by useless DEI hires and nepotistic babies.

People be enthralled by shitty cartoons for children about guys punching each other while screaming loudly. It's not like making movies or tv shows that don't bore people is difficult. They deliberately make them bad on purpose for some reason. Why? I don't know. But they do. It's like they have a guide in front of them on "the minimum to make a decent movie" and then they go "nah, I'm gonna do the opposite of that". It's not people's brain being rotted when they're bored by that shit. The only truly strange thing is that people keep consuming this media anyway.

I love watching this show just to dissect its sheer stupidity and lazy writing.

>nuking Shady Sands somehow removes the entire NCR from existence despite having multiple decent sized cities around Cali that would continue on
>Legion is now cartoon faction with the laziest/stupid "civil war" plot ever conceived in media (two warring sides camped 1m from each other)
>Vault 32/33 plot with forgettable characters no one cares about; simply filler scenes with cartoon characters that mysteriously make the white males look like doofuses or simps while the strong females run the show
>Lucy's brother subplot where he spent an entire season held hostage by a brain attached to a roomba holding a syringe - absolutely retarded plot not improved in teh slightest since he escaped with the redditor vault dwellers he unfroze
>ghouls can now take bullets no problem and need an asthma inhaler to stave off going feral
>Brotherhood is now generic xenophobic religious faction filled with incompetent retards who're supposed to be structured like an elite military organization but instead act like a bunch of 13 year old boys fighting eachother after school
>constant reddit-tier "funny" moments
>Deathclaws are now pre-war entities despite only one weak mention of such a thing in a strategy guide for a spin-off FO game
>Deathclaws now prowl the NV strip with freeside untouched next door - groups of people would eagerly be hunting them down to claim the intact casinos for themselves and receiving all the power and wealth that would come with it

I'll let some other anons take over from here, as the list could go on for hours.

This is my issue with the show. Things like the NCR collapsing, or the Legion experiencing a power vacuum after the death of Caesar are plausible... but the show picks the most retarded possible way to represent these outcomes.
>what happened to the NCR?
>did the Mojave campaign strain the NCR's resources to their breaking point?
>no
>did the assassination of President Kimball cause a protracted power struggle that fragmented it into warring city-states?
>no
>did the outcome of the Battle of Hoover Damn somehow lead to the NCR's demise?
>no
>then what happened?

>one day, a man's wife learned that Shady Sands existed hundreds of miles south of where it exists in the games and ran away from Vault 33, which the Master conveniently never discovered, bringing her infant children who weren't born at that time with her, and that man locked down the vault to leave and personally retrieve her
>when she wouldn't return to the vault, he took his nonexistent children home to Vault 33 so their mother could birth them a year later, who officially died the year before, and have false memories of their time on the surface implanted in their memories
>and then he decided to nuke Shady Sands with a single, mind-controlled Mexican dressed as an NCR soldier, hauling a nuclear warhead in a cart
>after Shady Sands was nuked in [date redacted] [corrected date redacted] we don't know, but it was nuked, everyone in every other NCR city and town in California simultaneously and unanimously decided to dismantle their settlements and kill themselves, leaving no evidence of their existence

Caesar is a chud who treated the wasteland as an IRL paradox game, taking the Blackfoot tribe as a one-province minor and conquering 86 tribes to make an empire
His character and backstory and the conversation you have with him does a lot of heavy lifting for them as a faction, they don't really work without him, both in universe and in terms of whether you think they are worthy of support in the abstract sense
Like you can say he is a pseud or whatever when he talks about merging his slaver rape army in a Hegelian synthesis with the NCR to make something better than both, but you can see why people would believe him and follow him, especially in the wasteland where he appears like a genius compared to average person
>>
The changes they made to fallout from the tv show literally ruined my life. I'm still going to watch every week to point out the stupidity but yeah, it's bad.

Could a 6-8 episode True Detective season 1-tier adaption of the original Fallout story be any good? May as well call this miniseries The Vault Dweller or some shit to distinguish it from the main show. It WON'T happen at all, but I am posing a hypothetical is all

WEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL it wuz, as it were, a veritible GARDEN of EDEN. Missus Beauregard was happy. Tha field hands were contented, or at least as contended as they could be, given they circumstances *heh*. The children were happy, and we even hosted a small dance or two. The Salad Days, in those days. That is, until I acquired that there BUCK.

That Buck, as ah was sayin, was a WILLFUL sort. An' ah KNEW, that if he was to put his ideas about amongst the others, that it would be destructive to our harmonious house. So after less than three days of his guff, I resolved right then and there, that ah would take it upon mahself to BREAK that there Buck, and to make it known to the others that ah BROKE that Buck. The missus was none too happy, of course, but sometimes, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. And after all, he was a... FINE, and STRONG Buck.

I watched the 22 episode order from Youtube since the entire series is free there. It made the Chimes of Big Ben the 2nd episode though, which feels like it really should have been saved for midseason.
>>217412013
Is it really that good? I always sort of figured it was just a parody of those 70s animated adventure series but edgy, so just edgy subversion but with better writing.
>>217411998
Yes, Outer Limits has some stand out episodes as well. Danger Man isn't esoteric and is pretty straight spy thriller stuff, but it is very well written and engaging throughout most of its episodes.

>>217411974
I may try The Maxx it seems up my alley. I was disappointed in Severance. A lot of it is still really good, but it just feels like it has to constantly remind you of what its own themes are, and it doesn't really have much mystery that interests besides that. It seems like its too self-conscious or something, it knows it wants to be a mind-bending mindfuck show, and so throws in surreal imagery to keep the effect, but without building to anything interesting beyond the idea of multiple selves and splitting as caused by our current work/life culture. If they end up making Melchik a good guy on the side of the Severed floor by season 3, I'll be gravely disappointed.

Again, if that was considered a form of immortality then why don't we already see it happening irl? Old wealthy people would lobby to change and open up human cloning laws so that they could clone themselves into younger bodies. Every weirdo who gets their body cryogenically frozen would go the cloning route instead.
Likely answer: it's understood not to be a form of immortality, and there's little reason to do it if you simply have children who can inherit your stuff
