It's a bizarre show, to say the least. It starts out as as a quirky dramedy in the vein of Weeds starring two nobodies that nobody watches. Then, out of nowhere during Season 3 and 4, it becomes this VERY VERY anime-like cartoonish battle shonen with slow-motion reloads, two Mexican assassin twins who walk in motion and have snakeskin boots, drug lords who meet like feudal space kings in the middle of the desert and it's just...what the fuck am I even watching. It's pure schizophrenia. Like you got Charlie Kaufman and then Michael Bay to work on the same show without any cooperation.
It teeters on the edge of actually being prestige television. Maybe that was the point, and maybe that's why the viewership was so high (after people got caught up on Netflix). I hated all of the stylized crap.Check out Better Call Saul, it has a more mature vibe.
