>>215383572During World War II, Ford served as head of the photographic unit for the Office of Strategic Services and made documentaries for the Navy Department. He was commissioned as a commander in the United States Navy Reserve. According to Searching for John Ford, "Ford and his men concentrated largely on secret photographic missions for the OSS."[51] In 1961 Ford told a magazine, "Our job was to photograph both for the records and for our intelligence assessment, the work of guerrillas, saboteurs, Resistance outfits."[51] He won two more Academy Awards during this time, one for the semi-documentary The Battle of Midway (1942), and one for the propaganda film December 7: The Movie (1943). Ford filmed the Japanese attack on Midway from the power plant of Sand Island and was wounded in the left arm by a machine gun bullet.[52][53][54]Ford was also present on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He crossed the English Channel on the USS Plunkett (DD-431), which anchored off Omaha Beach at 0600. He observed the first wave land on the beach from the ship, landing on the beach himself later with a team of Coast Guard cameramen who filmed the battle from behind the beach obstacles, with Ford directing operations. The film was edited in London, but very little was released to the public. Ford eventually rose to become a top adviser to OSS head William Joseph Donovan. According to records released in 2008, Ford was cited by his superiors for bravery, taking a position to film one mission that was "an obvious and clear target". He survived "continuous attack and was wounded" while he continued filming, one commendation in his file states.[59] In 1945, Ford executed affidavits testifying to the integrity of films taken to document conditions at Nazi concentration camps

Is it just me or was anyone else a bit confused with this show? I’m kinda confused with the family lines and how certain people are related. And sometimes it’ll mention someone’s relative but no name and I can’t remember if I’ve heard of them or if they have appeared. There is also so many different story lines and "families" and places and who is connected to what "Castles" are enemies of what other "Castles."
>>215382836Yeah I hear you. The books aren't any better. I read the first 2 books in the ice and fire series at the insistence of a good friend. Long before the series started, around late 90’s to early 00’s. Thought the first book was super boring but seemed to have some promise of some “can’t put it down” moments ahead. Friend helped goad me into reading the next, clash of kings, and holy shit! even more boring than the first and was almost twice as long. Kept reading because it seemed like something might happen and then didn’t. the “can’t put it down” moments were only to finish just to finish. I read a lot of different genres but have cycled in the sci/fi fantasy on a regular basis (I grew up reading it). I’m generally a big reader but George R. R. Martin is not for me.Then the series started. Promos made it seem like it would be good but then holy fuck, it was the soap opera “days of our lives” and just as boring. Watched the first 5 seasons with my wife. Each season Was like going to the dentist. You think it’s going to go somewhere and something great will happen but the only good thing is the needle in the gums to numb ya, a little gas maybe, you come to and you’re glad it’s over.

>>215383416Dude you know the show is hard to follow with all the names. I'm not saying I was completely lost but some of the names and places would get a bit confusing.
>Infiniti uses her middle name professionally. She was named after the Batman Forever (1995) character Chase Meridian, played by Nicole Kidman, and Buzz Lightyear's line "To infinity and beyond" from Toy Story (1995)If you were to name your son or daughter after your favorite kino, what would they be called?
>>215383358If I called you "Stone" in another language that sounded like a name, would you still be pissy?

>>215383496If it's a real name then it's fine, which is the whole point. But my name isn't Stone, it's Who-is-like-God.
>>215383577>If it's a real nameWhat defines a "real name"? At some point, someone just gave someone the name of "Stone", and later someone particularly famous got the same name and then people were named after that person.

Have you written off Mandalorian and Grogu already, /tv/? The last season was pretty meh, but it's now been several years which is a long time for them to rework what would've been season four into a film (which can be both good and bad). So I'm cautiously optimistic.

girls kissing in television and film
>>215383435What film?
>>215383435Dykes deserve the ropeGooners too
>>215383435why are women making out so sexually arousing while men kissing is repulsive?
