This is the first Star Wars movie to drop in almost 7 years. It comes out next month. Is it me or does it feel like there's not much excitement. I barely see anyone talking about it.
>>219209820it's yet another one of filoni's incestuous, self indulgent projects does anybody actually give a shit about any of the characters in mando? what's even the point of trying to have a big story when all roads still lead to the sequels?not that trust filoni anywhere near it, but something set in the old republic timeframe would likely capture a much larger audience since everyone will be going into it roughly on the same page, instead of needing nearly 20 years of knowledge from half a dozen multi-season cartoons and other shows
>>219209820the comments on the first trailer were pretty scathing>"I'm glad Pedro is getting work again! Feels like it's been a few days since his last performance.">"Somehow Razor Crest returned">"This just looks like one episode of the show">"“Every Mandalorian Episode: The Movie”>"I feel like people were more excited for the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith re release than for this one.">"I will never forgive the creative team behind the show for bringing back grogu after his narratively satisfying exit from the story so Disney could keep using him for marketing "
>>219209820Why see it in theaters when this is a tv show?
>>219209882oh fuck is that a tomogotchi like master shitto
>>219209820im not excited about it, Ill probably go see it anyway since im starved for more star wars
The only time he’s actually “bullying” Napoleon, Napoleon is being aggressive and lying through his teeth like a sperg
>>219208635Don never beat up Napoleon. Also, yes, when you’re obviously lying, you deserve ridicule for it.
>>219208635Correct.
>>219208747youre talking to brain rotted retards that have been stuck in a rage bait loop for years
>>219208747there is a bully that beats on Napoleon and squashes his tots. also Uncle Rico could absolutely be seen as a villain
>>219208488bully fully vindicated.

I know it's 4chan and I know we're on about 12 layers of irony, but without a shred of cynicism, what's the closest thing to a spiritual experience you've had with a film?
>>219202428>generic coming-of-age film with random nature shots and dinosaur cgi
>>219199861the holy mountain is not really that inaccessible and while still a great movie, it ends in a nothing-burger with its meta humor and ZOOM BACK CAMERA lineif you want the spiritual experience watch El Topo, still unbeaten to this day in this field

>>219208771IRL, I think Koreans are unironically too racist to allow a hapa into the K-Pop industry. Why didn't they show that in the movie?

So the mafia actually ran Vegas way better than the corporations that took over?
>>219212688Correct

Watch the movie.

Do you think they deserved all of it?
>>219208369It's on Netflix you illiterate nigger
>>219206992yeah. who doesn’t want to see Brad Pitt kill Filipinos in this new flick?
>>219206992did they have any money left over for you know... the production?
>>219207649I'd imagine these movies are an investment long term for Netflix. With more studios making their own streaming services, Netflix needs more original content on their platform. It probably won't be a success in the traditional way a movie is but having a Tarantino/Fincher/Brad Pitt film permanently on their platform is seen as worth the big investment.
>>219208055but they also have costs for everything. couple hundred mil is not chump change for an exclusive streaming movie
is this movie worth it? is it weird
>>219210039 You got a source on that or is this just another “I watched one interview compilation” take? The movie’s transgressive enough without inventing cut content. If the studio actually sanded anything down it was probably to keep the rating from nuking the release. Dust Bunny was decent though, same grimy coming‑of‑age vibe but way less mythologized by terminally online weirdos.

>There are stars who rise gradually, and then there are those who seem to ignite across the industry all at once. Ella Purnell is unmistakably the latter: a performer whose career has blossomed into something both dynamic and deliberate, marked by bold choices and unforgettable roles.>In recent years, Purnell has quietly built a résumé that spans some of the most culturally resonant projects on screen. From her voice performance as Jinx in Arcane: a role that demanded emotional nuance beneath chaos to her breakout live-action turn as Lucy MacLean in Fallout, she has proven her ability to anchor entire worlds with charisma and depth. Audiences also remember her as Jackie in Yellowjackets, where she captured the fragile tension between innocence and unraveling identity.>What sets Purnell apart is not just her versatility, but her instinct for storytelling. She moves seamlessly between mediums: animation, prestige television, blockbuster adaptations, while maintaining a grounded, magnetic presence. Each role feels intentional, as though she’s not just participating in major projects, but helping define them.>At a moment when the industry is searching for voices that can carry both spectacle and substance, Ella Purnell stands out as a rising star with remarkable range. If her trajectory so far is any indication, she isn’t just part of the future of entertainment... she’s helping shape it.- Ella Purnell News Network, 2026

God I miss practical effects
Everyone calls stuff like this goofy but have they ever actually made it look any better using CG? And I’ve seen enough webms of people actually being gored to know how often they break apart weirdly in real life.
>>219209252I hear they have the most convenient bathrooms in the world. You're never more than two steps from one
>>219211087They don't even mention it in the articleI feel jipped
>>219205681Yeah, but that would require paying talented artists and craftsmen local to the shoot a fair wage for their work. It's far cheaper to throw an army of jeets at it getting paid next to nothing.
>>219206053literally only Jameron can do an entirely CG movie that actually looks amazing. everything else should be as practical as possible with minimal or no CG. especially marvelslop, and star wars too. marvel could be way more endearing and less soulless if they made any attempt at using practical fx.
