Watts is supposedly working on Omniscience, which is a sequel to Firefall, and I bet it will show us more of Earth. I don't think he's done with vampires just yet.
Started reading Echopraxia two nights ago and man what a fucking start for a book, and by that I mean the vampires coordinating their escape without being in the same room because they would just tear each other apart to pieces given how fucking territorial they are. So fucking good.

Casual racism is super common amongst Starfleet officers, how many times do they make comments about people being stingy like a Ferengi or sneaky like a Romulan, for the most part people treated different species with suspicion due to their reputation and they would have to be proven wrong.

People make it sound TOS was always woke, jampacked with social commentary, but that's not the case. There are more comfy pulp sci-fi episodes than world-shattering Uhura kisses. Episodes that featured adult professionals of the far future who solved wacky problems with the help of their superior intellect and mindboggling gadgets.

>Brilliant and battle-scarred San Francisco Homicides Detective Bishop Graves (Kinnaman) will put all of his skills to the test in the hunt for an elusive killer targeting the city’s elite. As the increasingly audacious killer develops a devoted following among the city’s powerless, Bishop becomes convinced these murders connect back to the most powerful man of San Francisco: His own father, Lincoln Graves (John Malkovich).

>The cast also includes Xavier Samuel as Anthony Graves, Bishop’s younger brother; Jennifer Jason Leigh as Jillian Graves, Lincoln’s sister and aunt to Bishop and Anthony; Jordana Brewster as Kat Claiborne, a seasoned San Francisco Police Department inspector; and Harry Treadaway as Wyatt.

I like him but he bombed on the comedy central show, this is not happening. Its supposed to be real stories but he was clearly under the influence of something and making it up as he went along. Nobody in the audience believed anything he said. It was an event that you see at house parties with bragadoccios.

Having bad taste has no bearing on one's emotional attachment to something that's often rooted in fond childhood memories. People are happy to pay hundreds to see an old, washed up version of band they enjoyed in their youth.
Making someone "feel like a kid again" is a hallmark of many amusements and luxury experiences, escaping into that too often is bad but we understand the appeal.

>But, when we were both auditioning for things on a daily basis, there were occasionally things that we were both being auditioned for, and we were living together at the time, so we would actually help each other. We would read lines with each other, and there was actually a movie that I auditioned for, that is a terrible movie, but I did it anyway, that I had to put myself on tape for. It was some sort of romantic role, and she was reading the guy role for me. I just think of that, and it makes me laugh, because we sent in the tape, and it’s her voice doing the lead guy role, and me being romantic with her, and I did get the part. So, we had real moments of being able to be really supportive of each other when we were first starting out, which I think is such a rare experience for people to have.
