NTA but you shouldn't compare the opinion of someone who's enjoyed a movie to the opinion of someone who felt bored and stopped along the way.
It's better to compare opinions as long as the one who didn't enjoy the movie as much 1)actually watched it and 2)can articulate his take

It does say something about the movie itself. It says it's a gimmicky, histrionic, shaky-cam, half-baked mess.

There's really not much more to say about it because it's a vapid splatterfest with about a page of dialogue. An actual retard could have written the script.

it's a romantic comedy disguised as a scream sequel
the director character specifically says "i just wanted to make a rom-com but the studio forced me into making a horror picture instead :<"
if you watch it as an early 2000s romcom its decent
also Parker Posey is brilliant in it and despite the lackluster everything-else-about-it elements she's good enough to make it at least a 3/5 movie and worth watching
characters with performances like hers are why the original was such a hit, the characters were actually interesting and engaging and you didnt wanna see them murdered, all the sequels largely forget about that, especially the 6th

Scream 3 won't disappoint you because it remains within the boundaries of Kevin Williamson's vision. even if the didn't write the screenplay.
It was directed by the seasoned Wes Craven and stars the franchise's main cast while the supporting cast is also excellent. Though I have a feeling #3 has a closing chapter feel to it, #4 is fine too and the end of the franchise's golden era since 5 and 6 are soulless cashgrabs burdened by woke signifiers and weak endings.

>>204648874
Why not? Williamson's vision is: movies are manipulative, they toy with perception and juggle tropes.
As for Cotton, that too is part of horror's elements: feeding us a character just enough to dispatch him. It creates a feeling of higher suspense

i'm still saltier than a pretzel dipped in salt about it though, he was interesting, everyone else but parkerposey was lame as shit, though not as bad as the absolutely abysmal "characters" from 6; like the awkward guy and the slutty girl, and also the cop guy who is a police officer

Scream VI and It Chapter 2 are probably the worst horror movies I've ever watched.
VI managed to uglify Liana Liberato, force a ridiculous/pointless cockblocking scene and it is one of the most racially ridiculous movies I've ever seen: EVERY single white character is not only written in a negative light but the movie actually tries to push that white cop and his daughter/son are the killers ending while letting the stabbed black guy improbably survive
>>

Explain Scream 2. Sydneys boyfriend jumps on the table and starts singing in the lunch room. Mickey, the movie buff, says Tom Cruise, Top Gun. But Tom sang a different song.
>>
>>204649286
Yes. It's a ff classic and is one of the most plot-focuses movies of the franchise (all of the VHS movies do have at least 2 good episodes)
>>
>>204649382
That sounds like nitpicking anon. Williamson's vision relates to the overarching themes of the franchise and specifically their approach to horror

The only Halloween movies worth watching are the 1978 original and the 2018 reboot. Even Halloween II (1981) was a surprising dud.
>>
>>204649357

MadS anon - I can see why you quit half way through. it does get better as it goes but... it's really an exercise in film making hung on a generic infected plot. feels made more as an over the top flex for the directors portfolio and film reviewers than an audience.

No, as opposed to the fact that the world is bigger than your room and whenever a movie hits torrent/streaming/prime etc some anons will watch it because they watch most new releases that have a higher profile-- in this case, a one-shot zombie movie made by one of Ils directors. You're just a philistine/provincial type who assumes others is as limited as you are

>>

just to release the tension here created by yourself, the imdb page for this movie quite literally has a shot from this scene as main picture. nothing will be spoiled lol and no one should watch this anyway, theres a cavalcade of old movies to watch before even wasting ones precious time on mediocre new releases
>>
The average european "horror" film plot:
>A woman gets raped in a forest
>rapist offers to let her husband rape his wife in a lake as payback
>can't get an erection
>In anger he rapes and impregnates the down-syndrome daughter instead
>they have an awkward lunch by a lake
>daughter gives birth but lights her baby on fire
>they all cry
>for no reason they begin to eat the roast baby
>the end

Considering the ones I've seen looks like they used 3 criteria: movies which are good and have mostly white/male main characters.
There are a few exceptions (Julian Karswell in Curse of the Demon didn't look white but then again he's the antagonist; and ofc Childs in The Thing)
>>

He's canonically not-- the Carpenter-endorsed videogame makes it clear neither of them is The Thing.
Here's an excellent stackexchange thread that mentions remarks by people directly involved in the movie's writing confirming there wasn't even a hidden meaning or anything-- it's just deliberately vague:
