It's just too played out in horror media. I really liked the kafkaesque veneer of the plot. Trying to rationalize it with "oh, the robots are possessed, actually" was just dumb. But I did like the part with all the murders that happened in the background, the establishment trying to cover it up, and nobody bothering to check the suits for bodies. That played into the nonsensical and nightmarish feeling of the setting, which is what I appreciated about the game the most aside from its aesthetic and unique minimalist gameplay loop.
