i dunno. it's an owlcat CRPG and wh40k, so if you like that and especially RT you're gonna play it anyway.
but i feel like it has some problems with very unrefined UI/UX that owlcat are just really bad at. the gimmick layer on top is the investigation system, which basically feeds into pretty much every quest you are doing in an area, and there's really bad feedback and such for it.
your coginator thingie scans things and you get breadcrumbs, certain points of interest seem like they don't exist until you've followed the correct breadcrumbs so there's a lot of backtracking, and there can be multiple investigations active meaning multiple breadcrumbs and also you are gathering info sometimes you forget what it's even relevant too. it's a lot. and the sort of thing owlcat games will have bugs with for years.
AFAIK you can sort of brain off and click whatever without "failing" Investigations just to progress like most CRPG, in the end you are an Inquisitor and get to be judge jury and executioner, but therefore i dunno how satisfying it will be to actually engage and really find the "truth" of everything.

the companions seem quite uninteresting. ogryn is fine, he's just a funny ogryn, the catchatan soldier is a soldier guy that says soldier stuff... the doctor chick is a doctor uhh, the psyker guy i don't even remember a single remark. yeah thats truly the only impression they've left so far.

combat seems lower powered and much harder, potentially? i waltzed through RT buts its skin of my teeth stuff in DH so far.
i think they've tried to make hybrids a thing since that was a complaint about RT but thats ironic since we don't have space marines and stuff now, so the iconic "bolt pistol and chainsword" kinda thing isn't even as present.

Darktide has the best first person combat to date of any video game. And I'd argue the music has actually gotten more forgettable as time has went on. Jasper blew his load pretty early. All the songs added post launch aside from Light of the Imperium are pretty underwhelming.

Here is how to do it:

1. Lock the monster away in "Forbidden Location (FL)" outside of the main path of the game,
2. FL should be optional and unrelated to the main story.
3. A sequence of complex steps are required to access FL. These include but are not limited to talking to certain NPCs, collecting certain items, finding hidden books that tell you about these items, and making morally dubious choices.
4. At every step of the way there should be explicit warnings that this is not a good idea. At first these warnings should be rumors, mumbled by random destitute and mentally ill NPCs; Something like "The Holder of the End" creepypasta. By the final steps these warnings should be extreme, direct and downright creepypastas on their own.
5. At the moment you unlock FL the game diverges into a completely different path and ending. Note accessing FL isn't necessary for this divergence.
6. You can explore FL but there are heavy costs. If there are multiple characters some might die along the way. Otherwise the PC might start to hallucinate or lose limbs, and/or get stuck while walking in a straight line, only progressing by clipping through the corners of things.
7. If you chose to fully explore FL there is a boss fight at the end. What you are fighting against should not be clearly visible and more like a fever dream of shapes and colors mishmashing and reacting randomly. There is no way to win this fight, but you can still run.
8. While running you only delay the inevitable. The world starts to unravel around you and the only possible way of surviving is running further away.
9. The world ends. Either the PC dies or manages to survive hiding in a cave, forest or other inhospitable location. PC is now in shambles, staring at the ruins of civilization and a warped world, waiting for death to welcome him as well and without understanding why or how exactly this is happened.

No. It shipped with god-awful first-gen SSR solution. RT was implemented way later, and looks flat as fuck.
Unironically, the game looks the best it can with ALL reflections off, because then it uses the oldschool cubemaps and more baked effects, which look more stable and artistic.

It still is a modern clusterfuck AAA title that needs TAA to look acceptable.

Anyone you see trying to make an MMO is merely doing a socket connection, and nothing else that is needed for the task. You need map chunking, rtree for neighbors, spatial hash for dynamic, defined payloads and schemas for traffic, lots more. If bethesda writing was dog shit, they couldve make the institute not comically retarded evil. like just write them that the older android synths kept instantly getting shot so they needed the human synths, but since they made them from genes contaminated with radiation (Institute descendants) they inevitably go rogue and sometimes go psycho. that way it explains the courser shit and why the fo3 institute was so deadset on bringing back the escaped one and any future escaped synths and why they kidnapped shaun in the first place.
