I'm genuinely confused about this fanbase more than any other video game series on the market.I went into this game; told by people it had 10/10 gameplay, the best magic system in an rpg, and personally knew of dozens of players with 1000s of hours in the base unmoded game.I dont get it though, to me it just seems like another generic hack and slash.I put about 10 hours into dark arisen. It's a game that rewards you the more you engage with it. The mechanics are all simple but each one can be exploited amd interacted with in fun ways. For instance climbing on a cyclops' head to obscure its view to then have your pawn knock it off balance sending you both careening down the cliffside to your deaths. Good times
