I don't see as much deep analysis of developer design intent though. I think it's something much harder for people to grasp since so much of game design is ubiquitous and just sort of taken for granted by the player. I sometimes think about it a bit myself and try to decipher what the thought process might have been when designing the levels and mechanics in the game I'm playing. Though I don't think I could really put my thoughts into a 4 hour long video essay, and I feel like it's really missing an important part of the story if you don't have insight from the actual developer.
