This basically places the next game to be either in High Rock, Summerset Isles, or Valenwood.>High RockIt would be a comfy combination of Oblivion and Skyrim's world. They would probably include references to Daggerfall. Maybe the north coast of Hammerfell would be accessible.>Summerset IslesThis would make an easy game world GTA style with a big island that has no invisible walls. Also has the most plot potential with the Thalmor.>ValenwoodNot a lot going on here with story potential, also might have to compromise in-game lore to get the game to run smoothly. An extremely dense jungle land with walking trees that have cities on them would probably be inaccessible to console players and make most consumer PCs explode. But Bethesda is obviously not cautious with retconning things. Either way I don't think there's a lot of potential here. But I haven't played ESO so I don't know how they handled Valenwood there.

>>729687380Elsweyr has forests.
>>729692332In elder scrolls online their excuse was that all the giant tree cities and monkey people and other cool things decided to literally take an extradimensional vacation before the game's eventsAnd iirc they already established in lore that the city-trees stopped walking and are stationary, probably specifically to cut out that problem in case they ever decided to have a game take place in valenwood, in the same way they most likely made up the void knights to write the multiple khajiit forms out of the lore
>>729687380It can just have multiple biomesSkyrim should have been a complete tundra if going by the old lore

>>729692051I always imagined some Fungus growth experimentation or a teleportation spell that went horribly wrong
>>729683501Hanna Barbera only adapted The Smurfs, not created it. It was originally a Belgian Comic series which is probably a big reason why it lives on because it's highly regarded in european culture sort of like is the case with Asterix and Tintin. That and Smurfs as a franchise is apparently really profitable.
>>729683214I'm smurfing myself.

If you were to make a Sonic turn-based RPG, you shouldn't make them stand still in fights. Battles should still have everyone constantly engaging in motion at all times.

Whoever locked BASIC story bits behind a pause screen or a dead social media site like Miiverse deserves to be shot.

>>729693214It played like Kirby, and I thought the Jambandra shit was cool. Genuinely don't know why anybody who played a Kirby game expecting it to be something that wasn't a Kirby game has any complaint about it that wasn't a borrowed opinion, not then and not today
>>729692964Nah using the pause screen is a great way to handle lore. Besides I don't think the developers foresaw Miiverse being shut down
>>729693503I don't mind if it's something out of PvZ, where it explores the characters a bit more, but the thing is that most of these "lore" speaking of are all information that should had been in the game, since they're all basic information. Triple Deluxe is the most offensive example. And it shouldn't been put via outside materials to begin with. And you don't need a hour long cutscenes either, just do like what Sonic 3 did, with it's gameplay used as a way to show the story.
>>729693358The level design is very boring, moreso than Triple Deluxe. And 70% of it's soundtracks are forgettable too. And it's a shame too because it's main gimmicks and the part where you play as the enemies are the highlight here.

As someone who played all FFs, Bravely Default 1, Star Ocean 1&2, Breath of Fire 1-4, Grandia 2...will I like Octopath? The main thing I'm on the fence about is the separate stories. Like how does it handle JRPGs usual best component: character development and interaction?
>>729693849People bitch about the lack of interactions for 1 and 2. 2 has travel banters and crossed paths but generally most characters stories are very disconnected. 0 story is more of a traditional JRPG but since it’s a gacha story it suffers from pacing issues

>>729693297>The Nintendo DS is surely the multi-purpose handheld for everyday life. Think you're a bit thick? Crack out the brain trainer. Got a pot belly? Get with the health coach program. And now, if you're looking for a way out of lighting up cancer sticks, My Health Coach: Stop Smoking With Allen Carr (not to be confused with the seriously unfunny Alan Carr) aims to offer an easy process to kick the habit. It does this by saving a profile of your obviously unhealthy self, assessing how many cigarettes you currently smoke a day and predicts, essentially, how long you have left to live. Following that comes a string of lessons that help destroy some common reasons that smokers maintain to continue lighting up. In knocking down these 'myths' - in showing that smokers really don't enjoy the taste of cigarettes, for example - it gives the player a moment of clarity which they can use to quit. Included are 15 mini-games that all go towards debunking those things you keep telling yourself when you give up giving up. Even though a bulk of the game is dispelling 'illusions', there is a reward system that tracks your progress, so Stop Smoking With Allen Carr becomes a 'Quitter's Diary' of sorts. Once you've successfully stopped, there's reason to come back to the title and reminisce about challenging times past. "Remember that time when I found it quite hard to stop smoking on this chapter?" Hey, it can happen.

>>729689813The Chinks just made their own carbon copy of WoW called Taris World or whatever, it can be done.
>>729692092>Just say you hate NiggersThat wont cut ityou illiterate cretin
People always forget that WoW was developed alongside Warcraft 3 and the Warcraft Pen & Paper RPG. That was honestly a huge part of why it ended up being so successful. So no, I don't really think it could be remade today. The only reason it ended up the way it did in the first place is because it was developed under really bizarre circumstances. It wasn't designed from the ground up as an MMORPG. You had a company that had made a series of Fantasy RTS games. Which over three titles created this huge sprawling world full of lore, characters, locations, etc. and then they said "What if we shrunk you down to be the size of one of the single units in this RTS and you got to walk around and interact with other people doing the same thing". At the same time before they even started on this concept they had already been developing an actual Pen & Paper RPG for the setting. So then all three of them kind of ended up in development at the same time. So someone making a really cool map for the RTS team tells one of the MMO devs they should put it in their game and meanwhile someone working on the RPG comes up with a great class ability that they decide to integrate into the MMO.So you didn't just have an MMO team developing a game in isolation, you had an RTS and a RPG team all developing their own project in the same setting and funnelling the best ideas into the MMO. AND when the RTS & RPG wrapped development those teams folded into the MMO team and brought everything they had just worked on with them. Then all three worked in unison for a year to take the MMO to an even higher level that, wouldn't have really been possible anywhere else.WoW really was made under extremely unique circumstances that probably won't ever be replicated again.
>>729689813no its was something special. it was made by people born in the 80s who grew up playing dungeons and dragons and it was accessible for everyone born from 1970-1995
They need to create a team of autistic 50 year old developers and force them to play pen and paper rpgs and the original everquest/daoc boomer mmos and you might just come close to recreating the original conditions that spawned vanilla WoW.Hell - they can have a lil breastmilk as a treat, whatever helps them focus, I won't judge.
