It's a short area, but fuck me, it was throwing so many enemies at me, I ran out of healing items halfway through and my sword started to break. My go-to tactic turned out to be "take one section at the time, kill as many of the enemies as I can to level up, go back to the bonefire, kill them again, rinse and repeat until they start respawning". It was cheap, but it was efficient.But hey, at least I can equip the Drangleic shield and sword now.

The age of dark represents the moment of enlightenment, when the soul learns to let go of their attachments to what is and ascends into the spiritual plane of nirvana. When people in game talk about the dark as warm and tranquil? That's how nirvana is described in Buddhism. Contentment, joy, freedom, and harmony in a world beyond human understanding. By allowing the age of dark to come we allow humans to escape their mortal shells and become like the humanity sprites, unshackled from the burdens of purely material existence, free to embrace their true potential as spiritual beings. The age of fire is what shackles the human essence inside the mortal shell. The darksign is a manifestation of that shackling creaking under the pressure as the power of fire fades and that of the dark ascends.That's all.

The only issue I've ran into is a glitchy sun glare screen effect on Boletaria 3, but only when the camera is aimed directly at the sun. Very negligible. The color tones in particular are just repulsive and garish.And the animations look amateurish, something that is apparent from the very first moment you walk with your character. The character doesn't look like he's walking forward when you tilt your analog stick forward. He looks like he's dancing and grooving with how much he's exaggerating his movements. That said, it's clearly a growing pains game. They hired a lot of new team members to From Software to work on DS2 and it shows. Thankfully, they've learned a lot from that experience and have gone on to contribute to the newer games. We couldn't have Elden Ring without DS2, so I'm grateful it exists.

I loved the sunflower boss in the DLC right up until he did the cheap triple explosion that is guaranteed to catch and kill you at the very end of the fight the first time you get it. Dark Souls 2 invaders are by far the best. I got invaded several times recently and not once did the invader run away and chug estus. Such is the result of a game where you can 1v1 your target, rather than invade into a 1v3.
