Which is the best VGA device from BeharBros for Dreamcast? I used to have the Hanzo but I thought I’d ask first.

What are you playing on this lovely Sunday afternoon, fellow senior citizens?
>>12023158Mao Mao from Sonic Wings
bump
It's sunday again, and I was playing GB Tetris. A friend of mine had his game boy stolen but not his games, so I bought a couple.
Bump.
Gonna get home and play some Doom after a nice weekend of smashing my cute femboy sleeve.
How significant was the transition from Windows 98 to Windows XP for gaming? In what ways did it shape PC gaming, and do you have any personal experiences from upgrading that stand out?
>>12019959parroting someone is maximum seethe, love to see it
>>12016995Depends how early on you jumped. 2000-2001 - you'd experience games getting day 1 patches to fix 2K/XP only crashes, and you'd bitch about XP having too much bloat compared to 2K.2002-2003 - Microsoft had to extend Win98 support because it was still way too popular (ha ha, good luck Win10 getting the same treatment).2003-2004 - you'd get fucked by viruses nonstop (welchia, sobig, etc), it was so bad you got a globe-spanning megavirus every week, especially in 2003 August. Then in 2004 you have to deal with lsass.exe forcing your machine to reboot in one minute. If you moved to XP later on with SP2 and USB2 drivers built in, you got a huge increase in stability and speed with very little downsides unless you still used old DOS era games which simply didn't work any more. Any shorter and it still fucked up regularly like 98, just say on a weekly basis instead of a daily one.
>>12019530>98's RAM limitations were disgusting and if you had more 256MB RAM or more you basically needed to run XP or 2000.I ran it with 384MB RAM, still have the machine, I think it was a 256 + 128 stick but I don't remember it exactly.Jumping to XP in 2003 with 512MB RAM wasn't a big deal, but the hard drive was quieter/faster and the cpu was monstrously good, all the emulators that played at 20fps previously were now running at full 60fps (jumped from K6-2 to Athlon XP).
XP was a piece of shit until SP2 came out.If you used it before that, you'll probably remember this screen.
>>12025425512mb is what i recommended to have (and had) to run xp smoothly. many prebuilts came with 256mb and were sloooow.the athlon xp (well, the whole athlon line) is a fantastic cpu and wiped the floor with the p3 and p4, so no wonder your pc was lightning fast.also, iirc by the time the athlon xp was out windows xp already has sp1.
My usual method of deal hunting is patience and watchlisting things on eBay to fish for offers. Retro game stores and good yard sales aren't a thing within 40 miles of me. Are there any other good methods I can use?
>>12024432check the local dump like a hobo>>12025139I assume things will only get worse
>>12024432>Are there any other good methods I can use?Emulation and/or flash carts.
>>12024432Hit up some retro gaming conventions, vendors are often willing to haggle on price since they avoid ebay fees.
>>12024432Finding randos online who possess these items and either need to sell them or want to sell them. Offer them a reasonable price for a bundle and sell off any duplicates you get for profit. I did this for a Genesis, wanted a model 1 and a guy wanted to dump his with the whole collection so I got a good amount of accessories and a handful of new games, after selling off the duplicates the whole thing cost me about $20.
>>12024432I got all the Xbox SC games for super cheap. Each for under $10 at my local used game store. The cheapest I think was Pandora Tomorrow for like $4. Every disc worked flawlessly.

So.... finally went to a japanese arcade, i dont get the hype. Would rather be at home on my mame cab, playing actual games.

>>12025615Was it at least clean? All the arcades i've been to in America are usually filthy. The machines are dirty, the floors are sticky, there's trash everywhere. Galloping Ghost was the worst. The cabinets actually looked like they were wet, like it was a gym where no one had wiped down the machines and just left them covered in shit. >>12026062the complaint was out of the box PS classic had 50hz games and a poor emulator. The conversation was more or less "you can easily mod that and put on proper games with better emulation, and do other consoles while you are at it", and then you stepped in.Just fuck off and go back to bothering the people in the Mister thread, they are probably wondering where you are.

What's/vr/s general opinion on the puzzle genre? I just recently discovered that people typically hate slide puzzles and i enjoy them. Also, puzzle genre general i guess. Lolo and kablooey are really fun.
>>12019283I got a used copy of Solomon's Key as a teenager. It had human teeth marks on the case. Someone freaking bit it, probably in frustration from the game's difficulty.
The Bombing Islands on PS1 is a good one that doesn't get talked about much. Starring Kid Klown. It's a little slow but the puzzles are of pretty good quality.
>>12019537Game boy puzzle games, being monochrome, might be up your alleyThere is also non-retro game Void stranger
>>12025590All me
>>12023539Stop That Roach is entirely turn-based, no timer, I think you just have a limited amount of steps/turns to complete each puzzle.Klotski is a simple block moving puzzle game for Win3.x, there is a timer but that's just for points, there is no time limit.Pandora's Box is a collection of different puzzles for Win9x, no timer or time limits. All puzzles are visual like lining up pieces of a picture, no reflexes needed.
How much did you trust game magazines in the 90s?Everyone is so jaded when it comes to reviews these days.
>>12016445This, 1996-2002 era of demos was great. 2003-2006 was the last farawell
>>12025173>G-PoliceI have come here to shill this game. PC version is a bit better but you can't go wrong either way.
>>12025230I played the demo countless times, what I enjoyed the most was the setting and sound desing was quite superior.
>>12026057Fun fact: there are a number of bugs in the demo level that are present in the final release and are in the pc version as well, such as the traffic getting stuck going in circles and one section of an elevated road being invisible yet still having collision. The droid battle secret mission is the same level as the demo, just with a droid rather than havoc.
Back then Gamespot used to have big launch center areas on its site for popular titles. Why not anymore? The site used to be big and active with a thriving community.
are you fucking serious
Not retro.

>needing a translation for a SHMUP
Laughs at you in 3do translation stuff. Most translations come with a shady doghsit installer that breaks if you look at it.
>>12026031Oh, i've seen plenty of those on both Saturn and PSX, mostly PSX since there is a dedicated Saturn patching tool. But I remember the ZSNES days where I had to run several dos programs in a row to patch a game.
>>12026002>needing a translation for a SHMUPYes. If there is but one line of dialog, it should be in my language. There is not a single Japan only game that shouldn't be translated.
>>12026051Apparently the patching tool for Ys IV English translation on PC Engine CD no longer works on 64-bit Windows machines. You have to use a VM or an emulator to patch the game.

Which is supreme to you? MK2 basically perfected the original game with the same gameplay tightened up and with an expanded roster. UMK3 took the gameplay and made it more hyper with running and long sequenced combos
2 was the peak of the presentation/casual experience. umk3 was the funnest to play competively.
>>12025165Have sex
>>12025235This, mk2 had the best look/feel while umk3 played better.In a perfect world they'd rebuild mk2 onto umk3s engine.
>>12025813mk trilogy lets you disable running/dial-a-combo, basically making it a huge roster mk2
