>two blue kite shields with a bird emblem
>barely look alike
I'd say they look alike enough.
Notably, the bird in the hylian shield doesn't even have any meaning, so it feels like they were trying to mimic something without putting any thought into it.
>>
>>12487080
Shields are used for bashing as much or more than they're used for blocking, so I agree they're more of a weapon than armor.

>Warning: What you are about to read is canon.
The Great B-Ball Purge of 2041, a day so painful to some that it is referred to only as the "B-Ballnacht". Thousands upon thousands of the world's greatest ballers were massacred in a swath of violence and sports bigotry as the game was outlawed worldwide. The reason: the Chaos Dunk, a jam so powerful its mere existence threatens the balance of chaos and order. Among the few ballers and fans that survived the basketball genocide was Charles Barkley, the man capable of performing the "Verboten Jam"...
>>
>>12487043
Yes. He wasn't Michael Jordan big (nobody was), but he was a big name player that even people who didn't follow basketball knew.

Why do every single Jaguar game besides Rayman look like some cheap mishmash abomination of badly rendered 3D assets, crudely drawn MS Paint graphics, Word art, shitty photo collages and garish colors? Why does everything on Jaguar look so amateur? It's hideous!
It's like some kind of video game hell where everything graphically wrong lies. Nothing looks good. Nothing looks professional or made by artists.
The Jaguar could easily make better looking games than the SNES, but it seems that they couldn't hire real developers, just a bunch of washed out Amiga developers that couldn't migrate to real consoles and were stuck with the Jaguar.

Hideous games thread. And Jaguar general, I guess.

I never got why there was a flood of Rugrats games during this time. It felt like they were pushing this to be the next Mario or the next Sonic the Hedgehog, but a good amount of the games weren't good, especially this one.

Hey what about the NES game with it's HD skin available? That one was pretty good.

https://youtu.be/jeS0KB5WiYQ?si=877B3ktgpkuSskAy

I wonder why that developer didn't made follow ups based on other Nick shows, we could have gotten a SpongeBob game in that style.
>>
>>12477434
I can tell you're younger. Heres a history lesson for you OP. Rugrats was HUGE in the late 90s. Like Spongebob huge for Nickelodeon. Reruns played during the afternoon would get better TV ratings that premieres of shows on primetime on major networks. That's how big it was. It's why The Rugrats Movie was made as well. Rugrats had a huge second wind after it's 3rd season that pushed it for several more seasons plus another spinoff show entirely (All Grown Up!)

Play what you think looks cool. With the PC-98 library, if someone cared enough about a game to translate it's usually pretty decent.

Of the ones I know:

>AYANEO
Overly expensive for what they offer and typically have bad QC but are the brand you go with if you want to get bleeding edge stuff. Just don't expect good support for anything you do buy from them or solid warranties and expect what you do have to get quickly outdated or forgotten as they continually make new stuff every few months it seems that they crowdfund every time. Bad track record overall.
>AYN
This is the middle-to-high budget gaming market. They don't make many devices but their successes are prominent like the Odin 2 or the recent Thor. Outside of one or two hinge issues with the Thors they've got a solid track record.
>Retroid
Reasonably priced for what they offer and they primarily target the middle budget gaming market. They also tend to have QC problems but their issues nowadays seem to stem more from dumb design decisions than anything else.
>Anbernic
Kings of the low budget handheld space but the quality of their devices are all over the place and heavily rely on CFW to make remotely usable. You will also typically have to manually open up the device to fix some aspect of it, usually their d-pads. They love to make random experimental devices but their higher end stuff (I.e. anything past $100) is a coin flip if it's even worth paying attention to like the recent RG Vita and RG DS which both do not even perform well with their namesakes.
>Miyoo
Covid one-hit-wonder that has been trying to find something to bank on since the Miyoo Mini faded from popularity. Quality control issues out the ass and anything they do Anbernic tends to do better.
>TrimUI
Fantastic low budget devices. Pretty much everything they have is of good quality even if some of their plastic feels cheap. Just solid devices all around.

>the gameboy player didn't exist
I mean I know it was less popular than the Super Gameboy(something that certain Gameboy games were literally designed to play with, namely most of the RPGs) but really?

>>12485531
that’s not a bad idea, Joel actually used to use the original gauntlet site on his streams way back in the day
you can see it in his Where’s Waldo video
>>
That's GG Rayearth 1 (turns out it had a TL). It's a license with a simple and easy RPG slapped on top of it. You get 3 dungeons and a town with some event battles. One of the dungeons disallows magic (so just knight then) and there are 2 locations which they decided to just turn into cutscenes. The town itself doesn't serve a purpose as a town, as inns and item shops are found in other dungeons too.

You have your regular attack and some magic to use, the gimmick is that your characters "spin" and you can make them go faster (or slower) so that they hit harder. I guess the idea is that it's harder to pick specific characters, but there's only 3 and they have a turn cooldown. Annoyingly you need to mash the d-pad after every attack. The other gimmick is a random chance to get some lucky effects (instakill, team attack, heal/mp regen, etc.) which sounds good on paper, but will use your turn. A revive when no one is downed just means you've wasted a turn and the enemy gets to bash you. There are also some unlucky effects or just free mostly pointless gold (and a turn wasted).

For the PCE I rolled Pachio-kun: Maboroshi no Densetsu.

I never got how Mega Man games were seen as hard. I literally beat all the ones I owned as a kid (1 through 4) before I managed to beat a single SMB game and I had all three of those as well. Literally baby tier barely a notch above Kirby games in difficulty lmao.
