Now, we have to work out the logical issues of time travel's effects on the timeline itself - and upon the traveler.

By its very nature, time travel creates an anomaly, both in your absence where you left (Point A), and the sudden appearance where you end up (Point B). This isn't allowed by the laws of physics, because now matter has been erased in Point A, and increased at Point B. Which is to say, duplicated. Matter is suddenly in two places at the same time at Point B.

Let's take the Grandfather Paradox as the prime example. In a closed timeline, this cannot occur because occurrences will forever prevent you from killing your grandfather. Alternatively, it can happen and you've fucked up reality forever. But in an open timeline, you can kill your grandfather and continue to exist. But now you've created a timeline in which you never exist. You've destroyed any chance to ever return home to Point A. Traveling back to the future will only take you to the new future, Point C, in which you were never born. Think It's A Wonderful Life. You're now an anomaly in both the past and the future. Really screwing physics over in all kinds.

But this isn't even the worst danger. Think about diseases. Just in history itself, traveling to new locations (or meeting travelers from those locations) presented new problems. Malaria, smallpox, the plague, and so on. You are a fucking petri dish traveling through time and spreading your freakish time-diseases.

But it works the other way. Smallpox and polio are eradicated, so we are no longer inoculated for them. You could go back to 1555, catch the Plague, and die horribly. Or you could go off into 2185 and find some new strain that everyone is a carrier for but no longer experience symptoms for. And it kills you.

And let's not even start with food quality. Future food might be okay, but before the 20th century that shit was barely edible. Y'know how they tell you not to drink the water when you go to Mexico? Same problem, but it's 1855 and congratulations, now you've got dysentery and whatever the fuck poisons they put in your bread to make it white.

There is Heaven, Hell, purgatory, Hades, The Fields of Elysium, The Fields of Asphodel, The Fields of Punishment, Tartarus, Valhalla, Janna, reincarnation, nothingness. What you believe in tends to manifest for example if you're a good Christian (or just a good person) you'll get Heaven, if you're Jewish you'll be reincarnated, etc etc.
