I miss this demon monster chick like you wouldn't believe. Why did she have to be in a show that shit itself to death?

Thundercats thread: now with 200% more Cheetara!Which comics are worth reading? What are the best episodes of the 1985 and 2011 cartoons? Which character would you most want to snuggle with?
>>152054172Just like this sequence, I really like it, even if is nothing impresive.
So apart from big cats there are a lot of "uplifted animals" (in human terminology) in the Thundercats universe (like hyenas, armadillos, toads, rats, birds, etc.), but it's unclear to me why the T-Cats call the Plundarrans "Mutants". What did they mutate from? How is that different from the Thundarans? >>152054765That's actually a nice piece of animation in how it shows and breaks symmetry.
>>152055131>What did they mutate from? How is that different from the Thundarans?could just be an excuse, but because they look really more animalistics? Thundarans are cats, but they are not literal cat people with a mans body. they look more like humans.that is why I could not think of stuff like the Dogs of war designs like a same level equivalent of thundareans.
>>152054762That's just there to set up the Thundercats x Silverhawks crossover event.
>>152055293It would probably be trash, but lately I've been thinking it would be neat if Dynamite obtained the rights to Galaxy Rangers. I'd read that comic.
Where did this trope of characters explaining their own flaws and character arcs come from?I absolutely hate it. Not only is it completely unnatural, no one speaks like this, it undermines the characters by making them seemingly self aware of their flaws the whole time yet doing different.Worst of all is it's literally just the writer jacking themselves off to the audience about the characters they've written and their own writing. Every single time it's shit and feels like ass, but I'm only seeing more of it. Why can't writing speak for itself? If you have to explain your emotional depth maybe you did a shit job of actually conveying it.
>>152045348Not really Children's entertainment wasn't really a thing until the late 80's outside of explicitly educational programming, things were made for a general audience. And, believe it or not, there was a generation or two of Americans that slipped in after the leaded gas was banned but before public schooling was shot in the face. Those generations can understand things like themes and subtext.

On January 8, 1976 Jim Davis’ comic strip “Jon” premiered in the Pendleton Times
>>152051128This version is public domain so you can have this garfield but if you mention lasagna or eating you’ll get sued
>>152051128>Pendleton TimesI grew up in Pendleton, and the fact that the first Jon/Garfield strips debuted there was always cool to me. Jim Davis grew up around Fairmount, which is about an hour north of Pendleton. IIRC he had another strip that never caught on that was published in the Pendleton newspaper too.I lived around Muncie for a while too in college, which is near the Garfield headquarters and where Jon, Garfield, and Odie also canonically live. There's also an official "Garfield Trail" where you can drive around the Marion area and stop to see a bunch of Garfield statues that are themed around the businesses/buildings where they are.I'm not even a huge Garfield fan, I just happen to keep ending up in the same places as him lmao. But if you're a Garfield aficionado I suppose central Indiana is the place to visit
>>152055477That's pretty cool anon, I'll check it out one day.

Would 2020 cartoons be more popular had they come out in the early to mid 2010's?
>>152054445Have you been living under a rock? StuGo, Wylde Pak, Hailey's On It, and Close Enough regularly get threads here or at least used to.
>>152054512I don't visit /co/ very often, so no. I HAVEN'T heard of these. Maybe the Regular Show one, looks familiar
>>152054445Only pedos really keep up with modern cartoons, see also Owl House

>>152050788Close Enough should've aired on Adult Swim. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why that didn't happen when another cartoon for that same scrapped TBS block was allowed to do so
Scooby Doo is a long franchise created by Hanna-Barbera in the 1960's, and it’s wild to think how many different forms it’s taken over the decades. From the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! with its classic monster-of-the-week formula, to the more comedic takes like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and even the darker, more serialized Mystery Incorporated, the gang has been reimagined countless times. We’ve had direct-to-video movies like Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost that pushed the franchise into more supernatural territory, live-action adaptations in the early 2000s, and even crossover specials with Batman, WWE, and more. Each era has its own flavor, whether it’s campy, spooky, or tongue-in-cheek.So, /co/, what’s your favorite Scooby-Doo Character and which guest character suited the gang best?Previous Thread: >>151937486Scooby-Dooby-Doo!
>>152045607How did you even come up with that?

It's very funny that the DCAU had no idea at all what to do with Wonder Woman. There's no bigger mess of a major character in JL and JLU. They botch her origin story not once, not twice, but THRICE. She doesn't even get the Lasso of Truth until well into JLU because the fucking thing doesn't actually make people tell the truth; for most of her screentime it's just a big rope she uses. She is consistently the least-entertaining of the main Leaguers, and all her episodes suck. Her most meaningful contribution to the DCAU is being one of Batman's love interests. Beyond that, she spends a lot of her runtime in a state of PMS because she's angry as fuck in episode after episode. It's entertaining but nothing like her established comics character. On top of that they make Hades her dad, incredibly, which I will say is more interesting than just making her one of Zeus' bastards like the mainstream comics did. It's actually amusing how bad she sucks. Batman is great, Superman is great, but Wonder Woman's a smoking crater of a character. And it's not even that Timm, Dini, McDuffie, etc. sucked at writing women, because Hawkgirl is perfectly fine. No, it's just Diana in particular who's absolutely awful.

>>152045591I sitll hoping that Super Sam appears at some point in the show, same with Doctor Chapatin that guy always makes a cameo in proyects related to Chespirito.
>>152054855It's dificult to portray Super Sam in the current political landscape. Mexico is one of Trump's targets and he's accusing the president of Mexico of selling drugs just like he did with Maduro, zero proofs of course but that never stopped an US invasion

As an artist, how do you come up with good character designs such as Mystique Sonia for example? Just throwing shit in a pot and seeing what smells good? Taking inspiration from real life people and things? I like Jumpy Ghostface's design as well, it's simple but it fits in the show at the same time.Damn. I should watch this cartoon again. >Let's make a movie about steel>But completely remove all trace of superman or everything that links him to the comics
>>152055455According to legend, originally Superman was meant to appear, and more over it had more ties to the comics. Only thing was some executives thought it would never sell, and removed all trace.
