When he has the Soul Gem, he gets odd hard to explain spiritual powers. But the resurrecting thing stuck around, each time he dies he just cocoons and comes back. Sometimes with a different powerset. Then in the 00s he became an actual space wizard since his name being Warlock, they wanted him to have magic. He didn't do much in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it seemed like kind of a step down for him since he usually dealt with top level cosmic entity bullshit along side Quasar and Silver Surfer.

By going on 4chan they then gain slang and jargon and art, and iconograhpy and support (lol?) groups and notable figures to rally behind. The second a mutant did anything organizational (like make a discord for mutants, or an /r9k/ thread, or a subreddit, facebook group, twitter hashtag... whatever) they'd then start to develop jargon and slang like any other group, and start to have art and media and from that iconography or flags and would latch onto notable mutants as heroic figures and have a support network, etc.
