>rogue's powers

beast (maybe with the help of forge?) build a bracelet that was a power dampener for Rogue, so she and Gambit could be intimate without gambit dying. it was actually a really good gift and another underrated and heartfelt moment for beast that many people don't know about

Firestar's first appearance in comics was in the adaptation of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, four years before her 616 debut. Admittedly she was described as "mutant" there (though even in 1981 the "mutant issue" was probably seen as too complex to present to the early-years audience the show was aimed at, since both Spidey shows running at the time were really just there to sell merch). The "mutant" description in the comic (which pre-dates and advertises the first episode and is adapted from its script) is simply a descriptive "waves of mutant-heat" (which she was "born with") while Bobby is more explicit in stating that he has "mutant powers". The plot of the adaptation and the script of the first episode (from which it was adapted) differ a fair amount though it's likely the intention was always that she had "mutant" powers (despite being born with them, which even then was not how mutant powers manifested in comics).

The show itself doesn't really dwell on the mutant stuff (aside from the many Spider-Man stalwarts who appear before the X-Men, the first X-Men character to appear is Sunfire; I'm not even sure that he's described as a mutant in this cartoon (though undoubtedly he is in the comics by that point). Mutants as a whole are deprecated until Magneto shows up with the Brotherhood and Firestar isn't revealed to be a former X-Man until their first appearance in the second season the following year, a couple of episodes after Iceman is revealed to be a (implied former) X-Man (because the school is something you graduate from that continuity).

The show was popular but not hugely so (it only has 24 episodes total) and didn't really care for mutants much, so if you only saw it in reruns you might easily be familiar with Firestar as a superhero, not as a mutant, even by the time she debuted in 616 comics.

Either way she's certainly a far cry from the race-baiting psycho X-Men/mutants of today.

>there's no way to fix beast's character now
Sure there is. Say it was Dark Beast. Suddenly everything is in character. Dude is a master of cloning and has a history of completely fooling the X-Men, just say everything was Dark Beast and a couple of his clones running around.
>But Sinister-
Sinister is a preening egotist and got completely mislead by Dark Beast with a half-way cunning plan that was just complicated enough to give Essex an AH-HA! moment and declare himself the victor when he played right into it.
>But what abou-
Dark Beast.
>It wouldn't make any sens-
Dark Beast. The answer is always "Dark Beast did it."

>despite being born with them, which even then was not how mutant powers manifested in comics
Where’d you get this from? Nightcrawler already existed by then, and he was heavily implied to be born with them by the 80s.

Like I said, there's a faggot who's spent years here seething about MacKay. Originally it was coming into Moon Knight threada when Adams was writing Flash to bitch about how this place wasn't reading it. Then it ended but he keeps his act up. Some times he'll claim to hate both thinking it throws people off and that nobody will tell it's the same guy who's been seething for 4 or 5 years, even though his bitching and style never changes. He never actually elaborates on why it's bad for instance, he just throws out "it's shit" or "he sucks" and other generalities because he doesn't read the books, just comes into threads to bitch so can't actually argue specific points.

Just ignore or call him a faggot but that's who you're arguing with.

His Avengers is better than Aaron's run on the book, but it's hardly anything spectacular, mostly suffering from a dull roster with lots of random status-quo changes that he had to play ball with and constant event tie-ins

Scooby Doo is a long franchise created by Hanna-Barbera in the 1960's, and it’s wild to think how many different forms it’s taken over the decades. From the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! with its classic monster-of-the-week formula, to the more comedic takes like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and even the darker, more serialized Mystery Incorporated, the gang has been reimagined countless times.

We’ve had direct-to-video movies like Zombie Island and Witch’s Ghost that pushed the franchise into more supernatural territory, live-action adaptations in the early 2000s, and even crossover specials with Batman, WWE, and more. Each era has its own flavor, whether it’s campy, spooky, or tongue-in-cheek.

So, /co/, what’s your favorite Scooby-Doo Character and which guest character suited the gang best?

Still waiting for a supernatural-themed Scooby-Doo crossover with Batman and Zorro, who comes back Sir Daniel Fortesque style as a shadowy specter to save, along with the gang and the bat, Los Angeles from a supernatural Los Muertos/Aztec Myhology-like invasion from demonic and spectral forces led by Zorro's greatest villains taken from the IP in general.

I love the change they made to Professor Pyg. From needlessly edgy serial killer to eco terrorist. It's my favorite version of the character.

I actually just binged it so I can put this here. Beware the Batman had an extremely middling first half, to the point I almost dropped it. Around the time Ra's is introduced it picks up a lot. By the end I was loving it. It ended right as it really found its footing. I won't say I enjoy it more than the other Batman cartoons from BTAS onwards, but it's definitely worth your time.

I couldn't get over how ridiculous Katana's lack of a disguise was though. It was so ridiculous it takes you out of the show how nobody notices the woman driving Bruce Wayne around is also clearly Batman's side kick.

Would have preferred a more traditional Robin. Whether that's her or someone else.

Also the common criticism is true. Gotham City is way too empty, and there's not enough location variety.

One final point about Cass' inclusion is that I'm not even sure it would benefit the movie that much in a broader sense. It'd be a neat bit of fanservice for us die-hards, but introducing Cass into the movie's timeline this explicitly also means introducing a lot of heavy story baggage from the TV show, they'd almost certainly have to retcon Cass being Gothel's estranged daughter for instance. It wouldn't even be a good avenue for introducing new fans to the character/the TV series, since a huge part of Cass' character is the fact that she was passed up for a royal guard position

>What is this thread?
Every Wins'day at Win-O'-Clock we gather here and post links to the latest scans and rips of comic books.
Most links we uploaded ourselves, others we are sharing from elsewhere.
Some comics we've even purchased ourselves (but most we didn't).
If you'd like to help out, just ask and we would be delighted to tell you how.
Otherwise, be patient, be polite, and understand the simple concept behind these words: Not posted means not available yet.

>Where can I find old Win-O'-Threads?
http://desuarchive.org/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
http://boards.fireden.net/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
(Note: This finds the OP for old threads. If you want to search for comics in the archive, clear the subject field!)

>Where can I find downloads for other comics?
Warez forums/blogs, DDL-indexing search engines (like FilesLoop), torrent trackers (like 1337x) and other P2P networks (like DC++).
If a link has been posted on 4chan, you can search for it in the Desu archive (add "http*" to searches to return only posts with links).
