Why does Disney ignore this movie? It's easily, EASILY got the best Father/Son characters in any animated Disney movie.

How did they "not know how to market this film"? Treasure Planet was this awesome sci-fi twist on a literary classic. It was the perfect blend of what made past Disney adaptations feel so fresh while also playing into the modern trends with its retro-futuristic tech and setting. That's some BS right there

Was it more consistent that the first? The first movie had some great scenes but everything else was boring and cliched. Heard it was in production hell and someone was brought in to just piece together what had been made and get it out.

>SPHINX LARPed as saturday morning villains like most "villains" in the show, just with poison capsules implanted in the brains of their operatives.
>One day, a bunch of guys from the GCI fuck up an attempt to expose the secrets of the "hero" Jonas Venture, who was much closer to an actual villain and deserved to have his true nature revealed, an act of accidental heroism had it not resulted in his apparent death instead.
>Jonas was put on life support but his team fucked it up so that only his head could be preserved, missing the opportunity to de-escalate the situation simply because they were embarrassed.
>The Sovereign framed SPHINX for the fiasco in order to avoid taking the heat.
>The OSI decided to commit a series of war crimes against SPHINX to get rid of them and SPHINX probably never really understood why the LARP turned so sour on them.
>Hunter Gathers from OSI stowed the confiscated SPHINX armory away and eventually used sair armory for himself when he simply tired of the bureaucracy of the OSI to do his own rogue version of it.
>Hunter is eventually re-instated into the OSI and put in charge, at which point he just reinstates everyone but 21 who was never part of the OSI and pretend the whole thing never happened.
>21 then tries to create his own version of SPHINX by running a recruitment drive, which only attracts the old members of SPHINX who really just want to die in one final LARP before the poison capsules in the brains starts leaking.
>Instead they're just arrested and Hunter needlessly blows up their already evacuated flying fortress as he wanted to pretend he won a battle, while the Monarch accidentally blows up the hangar with the rest of the gear, leaving the old SPHINX to just die from brain poisoning in jail.

SPHINX might be the saddest faction in Venture Bros, I didn't even bring up the Commander pretending Hank is his ex just because he wants the final LARP to be just like old times.

True. The only one I don't like is the one with the silver helmet with eye holes. The hoods are okay, but the reflective face mask and helmet is the best for me.

The whole show is people LARPing and being paid for it and it's a union job with bennifits.
>>
I get why they had to retcon Sovereign from being David Bowie to an imposter of Bowie (or possibly Bowie pretending to be an imposter of Bowie after everyone figured out his identity), it needed to be parody if you want to use real person who still has an estate and it failed to qualify as such. But they also didn't outright state Red Mantle was Buddy Holley and that guy is kind of just known for having died 45 years before this show even started, so how long does it take before it's safe to just use dead people without it being parody?

LCS thread? I’ve got two, but I want to focus on one for this post.

>store is in a super poor neighborhood right next to the bougiest place in existence. Like 80% black but sometimes gets richer quiet kids in too
>Comic Book Guys are mostly replaced with ghetto dudes at 200% volume yelling about Absolute or other DC stuff (mostly Flash or Superman for power level autism reasons)
>ironically, the shop itself is a lot more professional
>two floors of clean shelves, well-kempt atmosphere, polite staff, even a spruced-up kids section. Staff are 90% from the richer area but still nice

>recent anniversary sale was, for some reason, almost entirely attended by older dad-looking guys from the richer place
>quiet, pasty white, either wearing plain t-shirts and khakis or full-on merch get-ups with little in-between
>ghetto dudes showed up as usual but they were like 15% of overall attendance
>dads actually try to strike up conversation, tend to stick to the older bins and form little groups
>ghetto guys swarm around the newer bins and kind of yell into their own little bubble, don’t really talk to anyone and get touchy if you try to go near their bins
>meanwhile dad-looking guys are either quiet or actively encouraging some of the outliers to come look at the older stuff
>wonder if I’ve just gotten unlucky with regular store clientele and only show up when the ghetto guys get there on accident
>return to the store a few days later

I haven't been to one in a while but the closest one to me was about a 30 minute drive away in a somewhat sketchy plaza and seemed more like a tcg event space with tables taking up the bulk of the floor.
>>
I've got one that isn't too far away. Like a ten minute drive in the downtown area. About one third the floor space is actually comic books with the rest being tabletop games, various merch, and so on. I don't really talk to anyone there though and rarely do anything beyond pick up orders, so I don't know if it is good or bad.

Is animation in the west really in its death thralls? Are we the last generation that will have grown up with cartoons?

People shit on streaming because the business model clearly isn't working.
I don't care about your gay need to consume as much "content" as quickly as possible, I'd much rather have a healthier industry that can sustain itself and continue to produce things that are actually worth a damn than a barely animate husk that shambles along based on the whims of bingewatching retards who barely even watch the shows and spend most of their time doomscrolling on Tiktok.
>>
>>153071289
Oh absolutely, cable was the worst. But it DID funnel a lot of money into cartoon budgets.
We don't want to go back to cable. We're just explaining why animation budgets dried up.

>What is this thread?
Every Wins'day at Win-O'-Clock we gather here and post links to the latest scans and rips of comic books.
Most links we uploaded ourselves, others we are sharing from elsewhere.
Some comics we've even purchased ourselves (but most we didn't).
If you'd like to help out, just ask and we would be delighted to tell you how.
Otherwise, be patient, be polite, and understand the simple concept behind these words: Not posted means not available yet.

>Where can I find old Win-O'-Threads?
http://desuarchive.org/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
http://boards.fireden.net/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
(Note: This finds the OP for old threads. If you want to search for comics in the archive, clear the subject field!)

>Where can I find downloads for other comics?
Warez forums/blogs, DDL-indexing search engines (like FilesLoop), torrent trackers (like 1337x) and other P2P networks (like DC++).
If a link has been posted on 4chan, you can search for it in the Desu archive (add "http*" to searches to return only posts with links).

I bought his little artbook, some really cool and insightful stuff in there. Aaron Long's one of the few who understands how to make independent animation work and hasn't somehow been duped into thinking that Hazbin Hotel pilot should be the standard.

Work within your means and keep to as small a team as possible. The fact he funds S&TM through Patreon and merch animation enthusiasts would actually care about like artbooks instead of endless plushes makes me respect him even more.
