That's jumping the gun, only 25% of phones have Android 15 right now and even less have AVIF hardware decoding. I seriously doubt we'll see overnight adoption, it will more likely be a slow trickle. The real challenge is going to be producing content in AVIF natively and not just going from crusty deep fried JPGs to AVIF images. That might not happen and it certainly didn't happen with Webp. That would be pretty bad since JPG XL wins with the whole lossless JPG compression thing it has.
>>
Like for big traffic websites that have started using AVIF, sometimes it's absurdly obvious that the source is a FUCKING JPG. Aliexpress for example has no shame, they even broadcast it in their filenames lol.

Debo said this in /sdg/ some days ago, Comfy dug its own grave by incorporating Rust

>XP and 7 are very insecure, upgrade now!!!
>how exactly
>extremely unsafe anyone could hack you
>could you show me, perhaps on a vm how you hack a Windows7 box?
>they are very very insecure you literally go online and you get riddled with malware
>could you elaborate? maybe give me a link so i could click on and test your theory?
>well, actually, if you download an exe and you run it as Administrator, you get infected very badly!
>can't you do this on any OS?
>s-shut up! shut up and upgrade because i say so okay
How come every online discussion about WindowsXP and 7 inevitably degenerates into this?

cpu usage comes with increased fan noise and network activity comes with extra blinking lights on the router.
you people are literally getting scared over things that aren't there and then you use your overactive imagination to gaslight people into thinking there's magic viruses that you can't detect
you might as well just go to some african village preaching about how there's ghosts and they need to do shaman rituals to drive them away. maybe you'd get more acceptance there.

Why are there discussions about XP and 7 at all? There is literally no valid reason to use either unless you have a computer which has this crap installed from like 2007 or something. I have a Windows 7 laptop and I still use it to rip CDs because it's my only computer with a CD drive, but if I was actually going to use that computer for something (not happening, it's too weak for anything beside ripping CDs) I'd install another OS.

All of those languages used to be more popular than C. Ada is still more advanced than C. C is technological regression and enshittification that created a dark age.

>>107594562
>So Spark is just Ada for retards who shouldn't be touching Ada?
That's the C way of looking at it. C shills (liars) told everyone that anything that improves productivity or software quality is bad and you should want software to be bad, and this is why C caused the technological dark age. Spark is an extension to Ada for formal verification, that takes longer to write but has more guarantees about correct code.

oh and by the way, if you want the program to not close after closing the terminal then run

What's the best way to interact with dbus? I do display configuration on Gnome (wayland), and since there is no neat tool like xrandr available, AFAIK the only way to do things like rotate the screen (from the command-line) is to use dbus. So I've built a python script that does some black magic with python-dbus and it works, but I don't know if this is the best way to do it, plus I have no clue what I'm doing or what dbus actually does. I heard about gdbus, which is a command-line tool, but here I would need to parse a lot of output myself. So how do I interact with dbus?
>inb4 use a wlroots-based compositor + wlr-randr

That works, thanks.
>disown
That doesn't quite work. I can add it after the final & and then I can close the terminal without it closing the program but the terminal doesn't exit properly. I enter "exit" and instead of exiting it goes to another line and I can't do anything, I can't enter new commands or ctrl + C or anything. I can kill the terminal and that doesn't close the program, but this also happens without the disown.

>>
>>107595376
You can but nobody is though. I think LXDE still gets sporadic commits now and again but it doesn't receive that much attention when all the devs use LXQt.

You'd probably want to port to modern GTK or fork GTK2 development too because ain't nobody doing any work on older versions of GTK anymore. GNOME is all-in on GTK4.

Honestly it's mostly just cause they're new and retards who are used to 8/16GB DIMMs assume you're doing something funky like 2x16GB + 2x8GB or 1x32GB + 1x8GB.
In reality 24GB DIMMs are the new 16GB DIMMs. Single rank and high performance. 32GB DIMMs are double rank and tend to be a lot harder to get stable (and usually they're stable with worse timings and or lower bandwidth).

A lot of people end up buying 2x32GB DIMMs because they wanted more than 2x16GB, when they could've bought 2x24GB instead and gotten a lot tighter timings and more bandwidth.

- good screen for readability
- good thermals
- modern bluetooth and wifi compatability
- slim light build for lugging it around and using it in random places

Use case:
