This is fucking crazy. Robbers and thieves all around, before it was corsair canceling the order and jacking up the price of the same pre-built by 800 usd, now they ask 500 usd extra for the supposedly ram that was in stock after the order is placed. What's next? Bring your own ram pre-builts?

In 8 years, OpenAI will use 50% of the US's total electricity generate.

This isn't factoring the amount of GPUs they'd be purchasing, nor the fresh clean water they'd need to cool the GPUs powering their data centers.

USA's electricity generation has stagnated for the past 30 years despite a rise in population.

How much do you imagine your electricity bill to be by 2033?

There's no need to get into the shyster retardation, immediate term would be something like coal and medium term almost certainly nuclear.

All those people who lost their jobs to AI? We'll put them to work building power plants for AI. Problem solved!
>>
>>107810116
>immediate term
how is 10 years building a coal plant immediate term? the people who built them were the greatest/silent generation + older generation. boomers have experts but they did everything in their power to never train anybody and sabotage everybody afterwards.
>they will just refit the old coal plants
with what expertise? boomers are dementia and nobody from gen-x knows shit about this either. it doesn't matter if they want to cut "regulation" or whatever cope retards have to pretend that's why it's delayed/slow/not working. there's nobody with the expertise on earth outside of china who could do it in the "immediate term".

I'm tired of these narcissistic old heads who are coming out and wondering why they have been laid off. They sit here talking about their past projects and achievements as if they're something ground-breaking, as if his job involves writing xdp programs that run in the NIC driver. My fellow rice king: you're a web dev, know your place. The moment your leverage runs out, you are sent to the rice fields. That's the name of the game. Make yourself useful or get the fuck out. No one cares about how good your Javascript, Typescript-- whatever the fuck you're using is. Like seriously, he is dead ass sitting in front of his camera right now, with the most unironic stare imaginable, and telling me "I felt like I could have built anything...", while sitting in front of a Mac Studio. Like what??? brother, your usefulness as a programmer begins and ends at where Apple wants it to be. With the current ram crisis Intel needs to restart production of 9th generation CPU's once again on the 14nm process. And it's because 9th gen Intel is the best generation of CPU's that is still compatible with DDR3.

Restart the production of 9th gen intel and DDR3 H310 motherboards.

And? 16gb and 32gb are the most common amounts of DDR3 people use anyway. All that has to happen is some company starts production of a B365 board with 4 slots of DDR3.

Left my PC on for a bit, then came back to only the backlight of the monitor turned on. I wiggled the mouse and saw picrel. So far I've tried every single option just to get "error we/you can't do this".

Seems like I ultimately have to go with reinstalling Windows but is there some way I could get around it? Just don't want to have to delete a shitload of games from my main drive. Also normally I leave my PC on and this has never happened. Did my SSD shit itself or something?
>>
>>107809387
i'd say it's not likely that it was the SSD since you usually notice slowdowns and weird behavior before it dies, but if you believe that it's the case, then backup anything important before proceeding. You could use hiren's boot CD or a linux live distro to access your drive. Hiren's has crystal disk info in case you want to check the SMART data of your drive

If you can't even access Safe Mode, you could try repairing your install with a USB with the Windows iso.
>>
to repair windows what do you suggest?
in place repair upgrade or using the sfc and dism stuff?
>>
>>107809919
>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
into
>sfc /scannow
and then a restart. If the problem is still there after the restart then look into using an ISO of your edition to repair upgrade the install.
>>
>>107809387
you can try running recover/repair from an installation USB, anon. No crystal ball to tell us what went wrong, maybe you can get to a CMD prompt from the bootable USB and look at the SSD from there.
