>>107871571I have no idea what value our project manager provides. It seems like all he does is put together powerpoints and announcement messages that the team then has to comb over and fix, because he doesn't actually understand the projects we own or what we're doing. So we end up writing all the contents and he bookends it with pleasantries and filler about impact and reach. He threw a fit once because we started posting our release notes ourselves in the project public slack channel. He wanted to be the one to do it. Despite the fact that he needs us to write the release notes for him.

What's the craziest feat of computer science that happened in 2025?
>>107868346>using logic>reaching the wrong conclusionsMany such cases!Never use logic bros, our brains weren't made for this. Just directly jump to the correct conclusion. In this case: she's a real woman, my pp tells me so.

>>107862491>>107862570>>107868346I'd say the biggest accomplishment in computer science is producing artificial women (male) who know about computers. If more trannies passed like him then women would be deprecated. Much more impressive than LLMs passing for redditors.

It's so sad that we can't have things like this anymore and instead get RGB slop and glass panels. Imagine, how pleasant to have one giant 400mm fan spinning at a virtually silent 500RPM, which blew enormous amounts of cool air directly onto every single chip, component, and heatsink on the board, as well as your storage devices and PSU. Now we have to deal with 40mm chipset fans running at ludicrous RPMs and oversized fuckhuge expensive air coolers for the CPU.Are there any signs of hope for true aircooling enthusiasts?
If you don't have a mesh/dust filter you have to constantly clean your PC.If you have one a 400mm fan with 500RPM will never reach enough air pressure to cool your system good enough unless you use some low power shit in which case you probably won't need any fan at all.Fucking inform yourself before posting utter nonsense here.

>>107871422I prefer an opaque chassis where the glass panel is inset and isn't the entire panel.>can't find an examplefugg me.Nowadays all the cases look alike and are bland and boring in their design. On a somewhat related note, the Alienware aurora R5 desktop had a beautiful looking case, but unfortunately the airflow is ASS (not to mention proprietary components, but this might not be as pressing as the airflow). They should've made the case bigger and moved the PSU to the bottom.

>Year of the Linux KDE Wayland desktop>still can't get fonts to render properly with fractional scalingYep, it would seem that even Valve can't unfuck desktop Linux on their own chosen DE after throwing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, in developer salaries at it.I have no doubt many will not even see the problem here, which is probably a large part of the issue, but it doesn't matter. The fact is that this is simply pathetic and inexcusable at this point.I guess I'll try again in another 5 years. Maybe the Linux people will have figured out how to make fonts that don't magically become blurry due to where I drag the window on the screen when my display is scaled fractionally, like we've been able to do elsewhere for at least a decade.

For my scene graph system I have a hybrid system oop/ecs where entities own their components. The caveat to this is if you want to traverse all the components of one type you need to traverse all the entities.
Why shouldn't I just use sdl3's rendering for 2d games? It took me like weeks just to get sprites and text with vulkan. What's the benefit?
Frustum culling doubled the fps of my Minecraft clone back up to 5000+ fps. Feels good to have a lot of leeway. I haven’t even done greedy meshing yet.
>>107872807That's not a "hybrid ecs" system it's just oop
All AMD has to do is make an IO die for the Zen3 chiplets, that adds compatibility to the AM3+ socket.DDR3 is plentiful and cheap. There are a lot of AM3+ motherboards available. All AMD has to do is make an IO die for DDR3, with an RDNA 3 IGPU, and 6 cores Zen3 chiplet.

OLED is great
>>107872762>might increase the lifespan of the panel by 6%source?
>>107872762sure but that's another discussion. the guy decided against OLED because he couldnt leave it afk for a few hours without risking burn in for that time
>>107872766Assuming a casual 16 hours of use a day, and an hour worth of breaks for pissing and eating a day, you will increase the lifespan of the panel by 1/16th. Probably a lot less than that realistically, but I was being conservative and assuming you had a 20 second countdown before your screensaver came on.
>>107872779don't forget that static images are worse than normal use though. not that i disagree with the sentiment
>>107872825I don't really agree with this from a modern wear levelling standpoint. Back before the panels wear levelled, static content was worse. Now it makes less of a difference. That being said, computer use is very static by nature. I can understand an OLED for other applications, but it's full retard for monitors.
