Yeah, it's a branch of math. It seems like there's only one lesson from computer science most programers should learn though: don't accidentally make algorithms with excessive time complexity. Be aware when you're going over linear.

Programming is the job of a craftsman. Could a mathematician build a house? Yeah, but he didn't train for it. Computer science as a mathematical field doesn't train programming. If it did, there would be classes on tools of the trade like vim and emacs. If you took such a class it technically wasn't computer science.

When programmers need serious math it's usually something very specific to the application. If something like that ever came up and the programmers couldn't learn the necessary math in an afternoon or a week, it's probably better to just hire an actual mathematician. Most programmers are smart enough to learn simple math concepts even if unfamiliar.

Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.

I do feel remorse when I get caught for getting caught but other than that I just use it to not get caught the next time. I am not kleptomanic, kleptomania is when you have an obsession to steal for the purpose of stealing. I don't like stealing, I don't do it unless I have to, but whenever I see an opportunity, I act on it. I do it calculatively meaning the skim has to remain undetected for as long as possible. I steal because I want money to spend on shit, and if there's something I like to do, it's spending.

The dopamine from buying new shit and having nice stuff is just too strong to ignore. I also grow and sell weed, because stealing doesn't produce enough alone. I also leave some taxes unpaid and put a lot of shit on expenses so I don't have to pay taxes on my side gig. I'm one mistake away from getting entirely nuked by a police investigation yet it seems like there is not a single deterrant. This way of life isn't easy or fun, but I never chose this myself.

For fuck's sake, I just want to use this to make a simple wired LAN with a couple of Lenovo ThinkCentres running Ubuntu. Did I just fuck up and buy the wrong switch? No matter what I fuck with, I cannot get a network up.

The thing on top knocked over is a pi 4 with a PoE hat. I want each of the Lenovos to have a few pi 4s to mess around with SLURM - so ideally I'd start with 2 thinkcentres with 2 pi4s each and do kind of a 2-tier distributed or parallel-distributed thing going on.
My issue is probably that I haven't set up a DHCP server on one and am retarded but I'm also running into the issue that I'm not using a wired internet connection - I'm going off my parent's wifi.
Basically I'm retarded but where there is a will there is a way.

I am currently in possession of a Dell Precision 5550 my school gave me and didn't ask for back; this happened 1.5-2 years ago so I forgot I even had it. I would like to use this as a personal laptop to replace my old desktop; however, the BIOS is locked, and it is running heavily restricted Windows, making it practically just a web browser.

I have already read a fair bit about how this is difficult but all info regarding actually unlocking it doesn't work--any advice? Is there a reliable way to do this without having to do anything to the BIOS chips? I am fairly technical but currently do not have access to the required tools for soldering/chip flashing. I do not have a USB-C flashdrive, but since I can't even open BIOS boot order due to admin lock, I doubt it would work.

Laptop model: Dell Precision 5550
Bios Version: 1.22.0
BIOS Mode: UEFI
CPU: i7-10750H
GPU: Quadro T2000 (Max-Q Design)
RAM: 32GiB

Should this be unfeasible/too painful, I am thinking of buying a ThinkPad P53 as an alternative.

I can provide more specifics if need be.

Technically, yes, Debian's shim is signed with Microsoft's 3rd-party UEFI key, meaning it *can* boot under Secure Boot--but only if the firmware still has the Microsoft 3rd-party key "enrolled", which I doubt is the case here since this is specifically locked down.

>>107683857
web dev is based on forms that post to your server in whatever language you want to write it. there are more common server languages with "batteries included" web frameworks, like ruby (ruby on rails), python (django), and php (laravel). the frameworks generally give you an opinionated way of isolating application logic, server logic (such as cookies and auth), and datastore logic like database migrations

I would suggest that you ignore most front end programming. css is not really helpful unless you want to make things pretty.
so instead I would focus on the most basic aspect of html. there are block level elements that take up their own line, and inline elements that can be on the same line together. use forms to interact with your server, the forms dont need to be pretty. that way you can build an MVP that excites you as simply as possible

mornin' retards and alike

ZBloody Hell is a doom wad that I use with the native UZDoom port. NFS1 is with Dosbox-x (there's a native Windows version that maybe would work too but as I know there's no benefits of using that over DOS). For NFS2 I use a native wrapper. GTAVCS and True Crime NYC through PCSX2. The later one has a PC port but that's kinda hard to make work on Linux and the PC port is shit in general with horrible K+M support and lack of effects.

I’ve been running Linux Mint for over four years and was happy with it until the recent drama, especially the AI security scan fiasco. It really shook my trust in the maintainers.

I started looking for alternatives, but after testing hundreds of distros, none of them met my expectations for stability and reliability. I began to accept that my system would just break from time to time until I found a thread recommending Windows Seven as a rock-solid alternative.

After researching, it turns out this version is still surprisingly usable. It’s stable, reliable, and with extended updates plus a good firewall, security isn’t a major issue.

Has anyone else tried this? How did it go for you? Personally, I haven’t run into a single problem so far.
