Why is everyone just okay with Billionaires trying to bring back slavery? They have to know that's their ultimate goal, right? And once robots can hold a gun and shoot with accuracy, what, do they think they'll get UBI soon after? The only thing mother fuckers are getting is a lead injection to the cranium. What the fuck. It's actually so fucking demoralizing. I almost can't even believe it myself. I guess that's the point. That's by design.

>>107001419desu i don't think it'll things will devolve into slavery. people, especially in the western world, are accustomed to a certain degree of egalitarianism and justice, and will go crazy and refuse to participate if things feel unequal enough. the rich may try to push for slavery and more ownership in various ways, but i don't think it is fundamentally possible to really disenfranchise people that much without breaking up society in general. i think people are just going to vote, protest, riot or simply go AFK in spawn rather than accept being indentured servants. at that point things become incredibly shitty for everyone and even the rich start to become poorer, because there is no labor to exploit anymore. not sure what will happen after that. the rich may leave for dubai or ireland and disenfranchise themselves by accident, and then people may realize they actually like laws and taxes again (which is what happened 100 years ago, and a 100 years before that)
lol, lmaohttps://www.headphonesty.com/2025/10/audiophiles-budget-vs-highend-turntable-blind-test/>In 2022, an AVS Forum member known as m. zillch ran a blind listening test that has resurfaced in 2025 amid fresh debates over whether high-end vinyl gear is truly worth it.>In this test, he wanted to see if people could tell the difference between two turntable systems. One of which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and another was worth less than a basic dinner out.>When all votes were counted, 58.3% of 60 participants picked Turntable A as the half-million-dollar rig. But, they were wrong. Turntable A was the $78 Acoustic Research AR-XA, while Turntable B, chosen correctly by only 41.7%, was the ultra-luxury TechDAS Air Force Zero setup.
>>106998921Mine did as well. Even had someone get really bent out of shape about it, which made the prof needle him with sarcasm for the rest of the semester. We'd be talking about attenuation in data busses and he'd find some way to mention hooking up headphones to a MHz or GHz signal to hear the color tones. Can't do that shit anymore. Someone might get their feefees hurt.>>106997015The only hobby that I'm aware of that attracts more drug addict conspiracy theorist living in basements and middle aged white men with 6-7 figure incomes than audiophilia is aquariums.I knew a guy that sold stuff to audiophiles. The peak audiophile product was him taking those extra flat decorative glass marbles you put in aquariums, giving them a decent scuffing with extra coarse grit sandpaper, and putting a few of them in a cheap wooden box with slots he carved with a dremel for each marble. He sold them as frequency filter sets for some made up wave type that you could put in your speakers.>Effectively telling audiophiles to put rocks in their speakers>Charge 250 dollars per marble>MFW he had people spend over 2000 dollars to get a full set for their 7.1 system>MFW he had people come back for more to further enhance their new system that had multiple speakers in each enclosure>MFW he had people ask him if he could make special ones for their headphones.Comment too long. I'm not going to bother reading the article. So all they tested was the turntable?Yeah no shit nobody can tell the difference.
>>107001606It's a 500k turntable. There should be a difference.
There shouldn't be a difference if the first one is already reproducing with enough fidelity that the human ear can't tell the difference.Good speakers in a properly set up room are peak audiokino, despite audiophile delusions.

I don't even care anymore. I bought it and it wasn't a great experience after all. You know it's fucked when I'm looking for some feature and I have to reach for fucking free open sores software to get shit done and the forums are full of people justifying the lack of these. Their AI bullshit is stupid and doesn't work right either. And of course it's pointless as an alternative for people who use Linux because getting it running there is hell. The only thing I like about it is its performance on my laptop with a ryzen iGPU, because for some reason Adobe software runs like dogshit.I keep being a retard about buying software related to image editing. I got Luminar Neo on a bundle for cheap and honestly, it's not even worth 10 bucks. It's dogshit, it's slow, and most of what it does is AI this AI that. All because I do not want to play a 90 dollar yearly subscription for something else or keep using rawtherapee/darktable.

Spent a few years on it at work as a daily driver from 1999 to 2003. Filesystem layout is slightly different only insofar as the same UNIX paths but with different usage, for example where I worked the dir /opt was an installation root, but that could have been a shared mount point onbe ery single Sun machine in the company (about 50 Sun machines). This led to some humourous moments, like an idiot project lead being given root access then fucking up one day by accidentally "rm -rf /opt/*". The entire company ground to a halt because the Sun machines were the main workhorse for everyone there as the backbone of the company, and all of them shopped working all at once. The sysadmins were fucking pissed kek.
