mpv is such a fucking mess currently. I find it hilarious that all of their attempts to make colorspace handing "smarter" has completely backfired, and now mpv is utterly incapable of displaying correct gamma by default, forcing everyone to disable all forms of colorspace-hint and manually adjust contrast ratio until they just revert everything from the past 2-3 months.

There's a reason why mpv never touched gamma on anything except HDR sources. It's almost as if SDR gamma is completely ambiguous and most people don't care about it... Even mplayer has a less washed out picture than mpv now.

My first world internet actually went down way more often than my third world internet does. I don't miss their nightly "maintenance", fucking Charter/Spectrum. The third world situation is kinda funny. On rare occasions the whole system just goes to shit and it takes them half a day or more to get it back up. A fiber cut is a more likely problem. If the fiber is on a pole it can be fucked up by weather or retards crashing into the pole. If it's in the ground some retard can dig into it and sever it, which actually takes longer to fix.
