Thanks to gemini I was able to run 2D Fighter maker sucessfully on modern ubuntu.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Q3WJxYe2wamrWW1R_kqVSslT9Zkbf_RCtgn0mok7AI/edit?usp=sharingThis solves a basically 15+ year issue with the engine, that nobody had figured out how to run in linux. Thanks to gemini I was able to troubleshoot the issue.:D

>>107838694>There's obviously infinite more possibility that this produces something, than not doing it at all.Is that "something" worth all the investment? The biggest issue I have with AI is that it's expenses are increasingly running away from the revenue being brought in.Just for AI companies to break even on current and future investments requires the most optimistic outcome. This isn't just a few million to keep the lights on at a food delivery startup while they gather a base. This is billions and billions, economy disrupting billions. All this shit needs to be clawed back at some point and I doubt the VC money can flow in forever.Even now I'm only convinced nothing has happened yet because too many will be hurt when/if it does fail
>>107838996It's smoke and mirrors and everybody with two brain cells knows it is, but there's nothing else holding the states together. Look behind the curtain and multiple industries are in free fall. Big companies are running out of their pre-tariff back stock and are just coasting until midterms. If the tariffs are upheld buckle up.
How come C# isn't more popular when it's basically Java but better? Is it because people distrust a language maintained by Microsoft, or does the JVM have non-obvious but crucial advantages over the CLR?
>>107838851>the CLR was Windows only for quite a whileWhat about Mono?
>>107838921C# appeared in 2000.Mono appeared in 2004.Microsoft bought it in 2016..NET 5, available for all platforms, happened in 2020.So yeah, 4 years of nothing and ENTERPRISE status acquired way later.
>>107838989What do you mean by "ENTERPRISE status" and why does it matter?
Dotnet being proprietary and single platform prevented me from having the motivation to learn it. I only did that after they released and ported core. A language isn't useful to learn or write in if computers can't execute it.I imagine I'm not alone in this. C# has existed for a long time now but I think wider spread adoption was stunted by its closed begining. So they have a lot of catching up to do in that regard compared to other languages like Java.Which is kind of frustrating for me personally because I really like PowerShell and wish I had learned it sooner. Although the utility of it and what I appreciate today is only related to the modern versions so it wouldn't have mattered then, it only matters to me now. But that means for like a decade I put 0 thought into their entire ecosystem of tools, languages, libraries, etc. and contributed nothing to it myself. I imagine some other people have had the same kind of experience.

>>107816536The most expensive I own is a Feenix Autore. but I only paid $50 for it. The metallized keycaps are cool but I don't use it because it's mxbrownslop. The most money I ever spent on a board is $80 for a keychron somethingorother that I also don't use.My daily driver is a corsair K70 that I bought for $15 on ebay and swapped all the switches for box navies. I unironically like the shitty ABS keycaps.
>>107837726Not nearly as low profile as those switches, also I don't know how well split ergo would translate to higher typing speed, if you haven't used ergo it takes a while to get used to and almost everyone I've seen has to work back up to their normal WPM. If you're really set on it that's on you to bite the bullet I guess. As you can see in that video... it's really just an end user issue, rather than the hardware after a certain point. Like the moment you get 1000hz and mid-press actuation you're already basically set.>>107838286And here comes the coping faggotry.I already know about rapid fire, it doesn't change the fact that the world record for WPM ignores that shit entirely by>setting his actuation at or even lower than the MX standard actuation points>his fingers come all the way up anywayAs I said, you troons cope sooo hard and think you can feather your fingers 0.01mm while typing at speed, not true. Go watch that video again and listen to how he is fuckin' SLAMMIN' the shit out of those keys. You're just a hypebeast subhuman who wants to write of any and all valid criticism as "muh fuckin' luddites n sheiiiiiiiiiit", which is ironic because analog input on keyboards is not new. It is, however, the newest gimmick gayming companies convince dipshits like you to get because you think your hardware.>uses 3.2mm actuation on Shift keysLike... lol... analogfags are such jokes.>b-b-butDo you type at 300wpm? Nope. That dude was using normal ass Brown switches before in 2021 and 2022 and was still typing at around 230wpm average btw, and only stopped using it because his keycaps faded.
>>107838286>>107838711Oh, and you wanna know an even simpler reason why rapid trigger* is fucking useless for typing? Because... you are not keeping your fingers on the same exact keys when typing, with any typing form because... you only have 10 digits, retard. Two of which are preoccupied on the spacebar only, so actually 8 that can hit alphas and mods.Even for gayming its only real proper use is rhythm games as a tiny form of assurance.
>>107838734>Even for gayming its only real proper use is rhythm games as a tiny form of assurance.I do just want the best keyboard for rhythm games, not just for OSU! but 6-8k games like EZ2ON Reboot R and PROJEKT GODHAND. I simply dislike how most if not all mechanical keyboards put up a bit of resistance against my fingers making key presses not feel very seamless.I've never tried a low profile mechanical keyboard before, mainly because they never get talked about. But I do enjoy typing on a laptop keyboard significantly more than all the others non-ergo ones I've owned. Part of the issue is I have small hands so I prefer sensitive switches that I can subtly press without applying force to it, so I don't have to reach further to apply the extra pressure. I spent over $600 on a custom made dactyl manuform that lets me type quickly without moving my hands and it's the best thing ever. But I want a regular 65-75% keyboard with arrow keys for gaming.
>>107838935you might just want some regular speed silvers

there are fewer colors that contrast well against white because it drowns everything else out. there are more good dark color scheme than light color schemes because you have a lot more freedom when writing a dark color scheme.
