It won't. If the area has no laws to prevent a contractor or scaffolding hire company from leaving scaffolding in place instead of taking it down to store it; could be up there for another year and a half.
Where I live we only just got a scaffolding down that was on a street for 15 months. The sweet thing? The work never got done on the property. The scaffolding company were threatened with enough legal action they finally took it down. Not even pikeys could be bothered to nick it.

I honestly think we'll have basic companion androids commercially available within the next 30-50 years, when we do they'll originally be seen as weird shit for incels, but once people realize it's basically a live at home maid that can pretty much do all your chores for you most households will have them because the sheer time savings they provide will easily be worth the price tag (which will probably eventually reach like $10,000 for lower end models).
Pretty much the same way roomba's started out as a useless richfag gimmick but now that even $200 budget models come with mapping and lift mops they're gaining in popularity fast.

People think they hate AI but what they really hate is the politics and economics underlying it, which does not have the average person (particularly American's) interests at heart. You can use a hammer to build a house or break a window; AI is a hammer.

>We trained six 1.3-billion parameter models poisoned across three medical domains
For one these are tiny models by today's standards. And the real problem is that academia doesn't know anything about LLMs or transformers. They're basically industry secrets. The "research" academia is putting out today is 2 years out of date. That's why the companies are so incestuous. They get basically nothing out of hiring grads because the actual cutting edge is purely corporate because of the scale of resources needed to train modern LLMs. So yeah, the paper is a joke. Looking at the authors, it's just some NYU graduates in the school of data science doing the actual training. Everyone else is medical doctors apparently. It's just cope because general physicians are being exposed as the retards they are.

There will be a point where they ask the public to buy and user their products right? But what will that be? A phone? Some AI companion robot thing?

The way most companies make money make money is to sell stuff, good or services. So what are they going to sell? And to who?

What is all this for what's the end goal?

AGI. It's described as nukes but in the 21st century. It's so powerful and so wise it can influence the midichlorians... You get the idea.

Hypothetically having an AI that's good at everything and can make new stuff and not just hallucinate existing one sounds OP but never happening it seems.

Yeah, because it FUCKING SUCKS and is making everything worse.

A dozen formerly prosperous western countries got turned into 3rd world shitholes over the course of the last 2 generations. The globalist new world monoculture that's been imposed on us is disgusting. You didn't notice this because you're Indian and that's always been the norm for you. But the rest of us aren't happy to see our previously prosperous cultures die and get paved over with shit.

Unfortunately, people are not resisting the evil whims of the jewish globalist elite nearly as much as they should be, but they're coming around. Only the brown hordes desperate to flee India are happy to be ruled by tech vampires because technofeudalism is still preferable to living in India.

Cool strawman. In my anecodotal experience Linux Mint users who are a little technically apt and coming from windows are mostly chill but I've found a segment of them are weirdly not open to other distros and specifically quite strongly opposed to different DEs such as Gnome and KDE... and Wayland in general

Anyway I installed Mint on my various family members desktops (which I built literally going on a decade ago now) on a fresh SSD. None of them care to not be running the cracked version of Windows I installed in the first place. They also have not had any complaints or technical questions from me because most people, surprise surprise, just use a browser for everything.

I was pleasantly surprised my boomer parents figured out how to set up their wireless printer without contacting me (seems it just werks) and found the same printer success with my aunts machine and her wireless printer.

Mint, I've found, is absolutely great for old machines and old less savvy users with windows-adjacent enough expectations of features and capabilities out of Cinnamon

I use Fedora FWIW

Thanks for this. From his link to the plain text original:
>serif typefaces are generally perceived to connote tradition, formality, and ceremony
I don't agree with Rubio on a lot but I definitely agree on this. Serif fonts are used for almost all print news articles, books, contracts, etc. Sans is more often seen in signage and short brochures.
>in 2023 the Department picked Calibri, a sans serif font, because it “was recommended as an accessibility best practice by the Secretary’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion.”
How is it even supposed to help with accessibility? If anything long paragraphs are much easier to read in a serif font, since the serifs form a line that guides your eyes along and makes it easier to jump from the end of one line to the start of the next. Or does this make creating documents more accessible to idiots who always forget to change the font and can't figure out how to set the default font in Word?

I know a lot of people will cry scream, and shit themselves with rage about it. But it's happening and it's unstoppable. Just because you used GPT-3 3 years ago and it was shit doesn't mean the cutting edge of AI today is bad. Most models have improved leaps and bounds since you last used them. Or you used them for stupid reasons like telling you a poem instead of using them to tack extremely difficult mathematical and coding problems, or hard science and engineering problems. AI is as good as you prompt it, and if you prompt it stupid it gives you mediocrity.

Even if AI capabilities had a hard freeze at their current capability. And only incremental refinements in hallucination reduction and common sense were done - they would still change the world. But we're not anywhere near the ceiling.

The way models have been scaling up this early into the compute build up makes it undeniable. AI is already, right now, smarter than 98% of people. Stupid people are just not able to tell when they're speaking with a genius.

A lot of people wouldn't be able to answer what they ate for dinner two days ago. Cutting edge AI has a context window Its short term memory) as long as a thick textbook. And it's only a matter of time until short term memory is a solved problem, and incorporation of new data into long term memory is a solved problem.

Because it is meaningless information and the brain evolved for efficiency, not perfect memory.
