NTA BUT it's dying, not dead.
death comes slowly in the corporate world, except for a few rare insta-crashes.

microslop had every chance to course correct, but their leadership (not only nadella, but the whole c-suite) are retarded, and it will lead to their downfall, eventually.

A day after TikTok (USA version) changed hands from China to joint ownership from USA/Israel, users have jumped ship from TikTok to a new app called "UpScrolled". It has already jumped to the #15 most popular app in the USA for January 2026 despite newly launching.

Has anybody used it? What do you guys think of it?

>So what it looks like is Tiktok was used by the Chinese government to stoke social unrest and weaken the West
it wasn't, you can easily blame that on twitter/x and everything from meta
if something tiktok started doing when it got caught in muttoids crosshairs for gaza was aggressive us gov mandated censorship, before that they went hard trying to be pg 13 and straight up banning anything that had non pg 13 keywords (partly why alphas use euphemisms for perfectly normal topics)
of course none of it was enough, they want a pure old school boomer whitelist of approved gov media, like cable tv

>TikTok FULLY controls revenue-generating activities such as advertising, e-commerce (TikTok Shop), and marketing
holy fuck they always find a way to exceed my expectations, how insanely fucking cucked
>>
>>107991906
When I saw the "TikTok retains a 19.9% stake" I thought it meant that going forward, they would only get 19.9% of incoming revenue. But that is not true. The reason why it's at 19.9%, is because you need a minimum 20% stake in order to vote on the board. This means TikTok can NOT influence what USA/Israel does with US's TikTok, and that means absolutely nothing to them. They don't care if "Epstein" or "Zionism" or "Jewish tunnels" get censored, since they will be keeping 99% of the profits. The only thing that matters is that maybe a handful of people will leave, same as with Elon buying Twitter.

The Jews basically spent $14B in order to influence what information American zoomers will consume, while giving up ongoing revenue, as well as paying additional money for licensing TikTok's (now) shitty algorithm.

Oracle stock has plunged 10% since the year started.
>>
>>107972497
The right is beconing what the left was. As soon as people win they will just shape the world according to their vision. Which especially involves censorship of art and commentary they disagree with.

That's just how it goes. Be happy you have your constitution, still.

They probably stopped limiting the reach of political content. Usually stuff like that is classified such that only users who are into it ever see it recommended, since it drives people off the platform.

i know there is an app store, but for whatever program that doesn't run natively on linux, there's always some tinkering with wine, wine version, libraries, proton, lutris, which i am already bored talking about now.
I definitely would have had more experience if i started with linux preinstalled instead of windows with my first laptop in 2006-2008, but i tried several times linux during the last 2 years (open suse, mint, zorin) and it was always problems with audio, wifi constantly disconnecting and again wine. now i am back to windows 10 (ghost spectre) again because it just werks.
i'm not a complete idiot and i know how to solve basic problems with my pc whenever they happen, neither i'm not a lunatic that has to memorize everything about a pc before actually using it.
i am not the target audience tho, i only pirate.

Unfixing it by putting something sticky or padded under the button might make it look like I am lying about its initial condition.

I kinda sorta want to keep it since it was an okay deal (?) at 320+30 taxes for 9850H, t1000, 48gib, no ssd, minor wear, fair battery, w/ charger, and good screen, but I guess I don’t really NEED it? I don’t know; either way I will be crying and regretting my decision. If I got a job on the weekends or something, with the amount of time I have spent worrying about this stuff I could have practically gotten it for free by now.

Welcome to china.

I get not wanting kids to be exploited by algorithms. I get that you are the product on social media (and media in general, the BBC will sell them on state agenda to keep good relations with the people on top). I get that america pissed them off.

But I bet there was a better compromise they could have gone for. Such as restricting the personalisation in some form. This will give a lot of control back to state media. Let's hope this doesn't come to germany.
>>
>>107992990
I've done some more uh, research just now. PornHub does this shit no matter where you connect from. Right now you get flooded with tiny white penises pissing themselves, with a side serving of the usual BBC stuff, for comparison I guess. If you connect from Germany, you will get the same, except you'll also have Arabic search terms pop up all over the place as the most common. Other websites do not do this, so it's safe to say PornHub is not painting an accurate picture of reality here. This is some evil, insidious shit. (((Whoever it may be that's behind this))) clearly know how to hit it where it hurts. I'm... impressed, honestly.

Did NoScript sell to a advertisement spyware company? I installed it recently straight from FireFox and found that it whitelists Google and a bunch of other major notorious trackers and there is no way to remove them unless you tediously disable each one, one by one. Even if you reset all your addon settings and you select Strict mode, it still whitelists them every time. Crazy how there isn't just one button to dump that whole whitelist in bulk.
>>
>>107992564
It's okay dude. If any addon developers betray you, just git clone their repository and ask gemini-cli to remove the AIDS they just added. It's free. No need to feel like you're held hostage if things go south.

Why change then? Debian w/LXQT would be great on your X13G2. If you want to get adventurous, try a different DE. KDE or Gnome would run fine, assuming you're not stuck with 8gb RAM (both would run, but it'd be tight). Or try a really light, minimal keyboard-centric tiling WM. Go with testing or Sid repos if you want newer packages. Only do Arch if you hate yourself and/or want to relearn a bunch of shit.
