I would say 10/11th gen for intel and zen3 for amd was Windows 7 moment for CPUs. it noticed bugs when there weren't, especially the optimizations, it complained about me not using "standard practices" and was utterly unable to understand why I did some things, had to argue a bit with it to make it realize I was right and my code was bugless and much better than what it suggested
it's basically a pajeet coding machine, it's utterly unable to to produce highly optimized code

i've played with writing code with chatgpt, but maybe i need to try some of the other models, especially ones with versioning built in, because i find it a bit of a mess.

i've found initially its ok, but as you add features and change things, the code gets convoluted and eventually breaks, which it tries to fix and makes worse.
So i end up googling it and finding some incompatibility or limitation that it just ignored.

I thought that's only a Windows feature with Fast Startup. Otherwise it should fully turn off. That's why Bitlocker/LUKS/Veracrypt will ask you for a password rather than just reusing keys from RAM. Also this is why Veracrypt tells you to disable Fast Startup on Windows.

But yeah mitigating exploits after the disk is unlocked is a different thing, not sure which OS is good for that. But from my understanding, the device will always be weaker in AFU (after first unlock) than BFU, that's why GrapheneOS and iOS have an auto-reboot timer, to reset the phone to a more secure state (BFU).

Same age OP. I think the core difference is that back then the internet was for intelligent people with obscure hobbies and an inherent interest in technology to some extent.

You saw all the retards IRL, you went online and suddenly you're surrounded by cool people with interesting thoughts, ideas and concepts you've never heard of. You learn a lot of stuff you never thought about and come to love the internet.

Then suddenly those retarded people are spending most of their time online instead. Internet is just the normal world now, not the place for intelligent people to discuss their interests anymore.

So now I'm actually doing the opposite, I'm escaping the internet by having hikes in real life. I see the opposite now, the internet is filled with retards and the moment I go outside and go on hikes or other activities that are a reasonable filter I only meet interesting intelligent people with open minds.

For people like us (Millennials) It's genuinely better nowadays to minimize internet usage and just go outside and engage in activities like hiking, book clubs and the like.
