Usually it's because some idiot wrote the entire site as what they call a single-page application which is just a Javascript program where the links don't actually open different pages, but instead call Javascript functions which rewrite the current page. There is a Javascript API which is supposed to make the back button and other history stuff work on these sort of sites, see >>106650902, but the programmers fuck it up.
>>106648947Right clicking (or press-hold) the back button in most browsers will allow you to pick how many pages to go back

Will Trump's changes to the H1-B program be for the better?
>>106651521Trump woke up and decided without any planning or consulting his advisors. It will be cancelled by start of business Monday. Screencap this.
>>106651462It's bad for America long term if college kids stop getting stem degrees because they know they'll never compete with the jeets cutting wages. Strategically we have to dejeet no matter how much the market cries. And I didn't think it will. This basically removes any insurgent competition for big tech. Small shops will have to pay top dollar for American talent if they want to hire.

Which brand of washing machines is the best? This time we picked Electrolux after Haier broke within a single year.
>>106651065>third worlder thinks haier is an obscure brandwtf
>>106649829as I do not live in a 3rd world shithole I have no need to combine the washer and dryer into a single device. so top loader it is.
>>106650833lol this hasn't been true for 20 years. nearly every top loader is high efficiency now and uses little water by default (but has rolling coal option to wash comforters etc.). front loaders were made essentially useless, they are for short people. they should sell them in the same department as wheelchairs.

>>106650008Notepad++ is great. I use it as a really simple file viewer and it can read all sorts of file formats (xml, json, csv, etc) and it’s really lightweight and fast. Also it has syntax handling for many languages which makes editing code in it nice too. It’s free and open source so you can poke around in it if you’re curious. The last few companies I’ve worked at have also reviewed it and accepted it so I feel it’s pretty safe.

Looking to reorganize my living room a bit. What's a good comfy desk for two monitor desktop setups? Also need it to have drawer space. Shelf space above is nice, but I'll only be a bit disappointed if I can't find one.Currently I've got a big L-Desk, and it works well, but it's just a bit too cumbersome, and I'm trying to turn my living room into more than just where I keep my PC and desk.

The perfect electrical socket.
>>106648197>The standard doesn't define which contact is live and which is neutral, maybe in your 3rd world country
>>106649388Shitty idea, requires relatively complex electronics to be built into the socket and if those break down it's a far bigger pain in the ass to replace than just plugging in another adapter into a regular socket. They also keep updating the PD spec and whatever the fuck on USB-C, I don't want to keep swapping wall sockets or to end up with inconsistent USB-C PD capabilities in multiple of those things around the house. Heat dissipation may be a concern too, one of those 100W+ PD adapters may get relatively warm, not sure it's a great idea to encase it in a wall.
>>106649388To low power, imagine running a kettle at 240W
>>106649388Seems like the perfect thing for pod living. Real appliances, those are for the wealthy and industrial use only. You will not use any device more than 100W and you will like it.

>>106649584>Use barely any RAM>Have very low CPU usage>Update all your apps, drivers, etc from the systray>Run old Windows programs without crashing on launch>Use a file system approximately 30 years newer than NTFS, so that you get smaller filesizes (including essentially free System Restore Points) and less file corruption.>Not get forced to restart your computer to install an update>Not get spied on>Install on any hardware>Have any GUI you wantI could go on, but in the meantime, enjoy a Bacon Deluxe, lad.
>>106649584install and boot without having to login into anything at all
Many, many things necessary to the development of software. My Arch install actually boots faster than Windows and shuts down faster as well with less bloat. You'd know this if you were a computer programmer. The internet you use runs on Linux as well. Also, it's free. Free as in zero dollars and free as in free to modify. To me, Windows is a hacky mess full of bloat while my Arch install is clean and lean, faster and better looking.Marketers depend on your mentality:Cost more = more gooderLike a smart fridge! Look, it says smart on the label! And it's expensive! Very sophisticated! Not like the poors! And like the smart fridge, it uses computing resources and internet data to force feed ads in your face, built-in bloat that slows your machine and intrudes on your mind.

>renders your plex/jellyfin server obsolete
>>106649537At least you found it before setting it up, I spent a week setting up the *arr stack with jellyfin for full automation and only then found out about Stremio.>I want to like torbox, but it's just not quite as performant and extensive as RDI still have 3 months left on my RD until it runs out, the initial load time and cache difference is still noticeable between torbox and rd. They've been really active lately though and got alot more users, so hopefully they fill the gap until then.
>>106649759They're active in their discord and seem like theyre constantly trying to improve so I hope one day they'll be on par with RD. It's definitely gotten better, but there's still just enough issues that I find myself defaulting to RD
>>106648007They work for different viewing habits. I view stuff spontaneously so Stremio makes far more sense for that, but for people who would rather have a curated collection of stuff they plan to watch ahead of time, then a server makes more sense. You can also do both, stream the spontaneous stuff whilst hoarding long-term.
>>106650474>based impartial takeStill felt like shilling it, since it's much less known and talked about than plex and jellyfin, even though it meets most people's needs who just want to watch something in high quality without hoarding TB of movies and shows.
