I had a "gunsmith" do a total hack job on a 1911 I gave him once. All he was doing was switching out novak sights for tritium novak sights and when I got it back from him it was shooting way off and ftfing all of a sudden. I think the front sight he used was too short but that doesn't explain the ftfs

IIRC 50 cent was shot nine times but survived because it was pissant caliber like .25 ACP

Maybe - maybe not, RMA is running a very good ground game on reddit, youtube, and arfcom, so the XRT, 1165, and 1155 are being aggressively pushed even though they're poor options. They actually don't have any good options. Entire lineup sucks right now given the company's past issues and more.

Soviet/Russian military equipment generally just isn't very good. They don't lack for innovative ideas, but the concept nearly always breaks down in the implementation phase. A T-34 built in America at the time would have been a high-tier war machine.

They had some decent ideas and implementation, the problem was they restrictions/refusing to fix some fundamental errors.
During the early 1930s they probably were the country that had spent more resources in new tech for tanks, even wasteful with their "landships" (T-28, T-35, SMK), even more than France or England. Fully welded hulls, alloys, actual tank guns, phlegmatized RDX/aluminized busting charges, modern optics (from the licensed guns of Germans), vertically stabilized sight, sloped "thick" plates, turrets (not as much as frogs but far less retarded). Some of their designs like the KVs were good even for american standards (according to the Aberdeen trials). And they didn't lagged behind because they were copying all the new tech from Germany (WW2 and the post war was a technological germanization of the red army)
Overall their tank program was ok but they got some fundamentals completely wrong: heat treatment for shells and armor, no radios (frogs were the same if not worse), the absolutely retarded 2-structures of command system that mean the commissar could execute you for ideological reasons.

You've heard of FRTs, but what's a "super safety"?
>uses the safety to force the reset of the trigger
>allows for way more trigger options (you just have to trim two places)
>invented by Tim Hoffman (https://hoffmantactical.com)
>gifted to the world to freely 3D print
>enterprising people now selling super safeties made of steel (recommend at least 4140)
>cheaper than an FRT ($90-$150)
>originally a 3-position cross-bolt safety
>left is safe, right is semi, middle is super
>3-position 90° super safety selectors are now available

Sorry I want a product that will last more than 1000 rounds without cracking
>>
>>64759078

Not the guy you were talking to, super safety levers implying they are made well, do last thousands of rounds and are very reliable.

Typically, levers snapping is due to high shelf lowers.

What I will say that's advantageous for the rarebreed is the fact that it can work in high shelf lowers as well.

This makes sense. The real auto sear is a lot thinner than a thick ass super safety designed for printed plastic and you don't hear about those wearing out.
>>
>>64759285
Well the autosear also doesn't have to force a reset so there's less stress being put on it. That being said, an FRT only has to overcome finger pressure so it should be able to be made as reliable as any other part of a trigger.

I'm not a stranger to hard work. I requested to go TAD to my old boat to study (most of the BIBs is classified). My complaint is being tested on submarine knowledge which I literally physically can't study, or knowledge that is only accessible in the school house or second hand from indian dudes on youtube. I get asked EMNC and MMNC questions on my ETNC exam because I'm qualified to be their supervisor (a hard requirement to make E7 as a nuke). I have a 4.10 RSCA and EP/EP/EP/EP, so I'm hoping that hard carries me. Funnily enough, I was just having a conversation this morning about how HM exams are easily the biggest scam in the Navy. I couldn't imagine being a dental tech and having to answer RADCON questions lmao

How are Norden submarines so stealthy?
8 replies and 2 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>64759157
It helps when your opponents are gimping themselves due to it being an exercise.
>>
>>64759465
The exercise would be pointless if the surface commander were to issue a directive stating "German sub entering search area from S-SW". The idea is to detect it starting from a completely unknown position. In an actual combat situation, the enemy won't be courteous enough to announce their approach vector.
>>
>>64759625
Sure. But the nature of exercises gives submarines, and specifically diesel submarines, a huge advantage. This goes double for international exercises where you might not want to show every card in your hand, even to allies
>>
>>64759635
That's because those types of exercises are intended to replicate a surface action group or carrier battlegroup operating closer to the coast, where SSKs might be lurking. So some provision is given to the diesel boat, in order to actually reach the staging point.
>>
>>64759635
The old type 206 doesn’t have much endurance in them, being traditional diesel electric, so their chance of catching a CSG in the open ocean, or even anywhere that isn’t right off the coast is slim.
That said, an exercise like this is still valuable, since the modern DE with AIP engine will likely be much faster with longer endurance overall, so you can’t rely on the same trick of waiting until the sub battery is fully exhausted, as the case with older DE anymore

Idk why the FBI is the basis for peoples choice in personal defensive weapons when their criteria is letting female detectives not limp wrist jam glawks in the incredibly rare shootouts they have, but be my guest i suppose

How many female field agents does the FBI actually have, ten?
>>
>>64756116
If you cannot handle larger calibers, even if you have a penis and testicles, you’re a woman.
>>
>>64748201
the thing I got from this video is that the heavier for caliber bullets are what are recommended. It used to be 115gr. for 9mm, not they recommend 147gr.
>>
>>64748201
Because 9mm, .40, and .45 are inherently the same. Pistol calibers are shit and regardless of which caliber you're using, you're mag dumping into the perp.
