M110 is decent but silencer tuning is a bit harder than a SCAR or AR 15 even. AGB ruins the look and heaviest buffer and spring often aren't enough with super hot match ammo while I just click the SCARs gas selector once or twice to get the setting I want. KAC also charges over a grand for a re barrel which I have to do around every 10-15k rounds because the barrel is unlined. The URX 2 and M110 profile barrel make the gun retardly heavy as well. The M110 does shoot super smooth though. Its like a sewing machine when you rapid fire.

Is that a cow hide back drop? Nice brindle.pattern. And gm.

FAL is indeed fun to shoot. Recoil isn't bad, even with the para stock. And after adjusting the gas, it was pretty reliable.

>People constantly felate the F22, claiming its the plane version of jesus.
>Constantly disparage the F35 saying its a an expensive boondongle that can't fight and is shit and is worse in every way to the f22 and they should have just made more f22s instead of axing the program
>Today
>People lament that the f22 is underutilized as it never gets any engagements
>Still question the value of F35 despite its multiple successes in infiltrating enemy held airspace and leading ground attack missions in heavily defended adversary airspace.

Its time you admit that F35 is the superior aircraft.

F-22 is an air superiority fighter. F-35 is a multirole. I like both of them. We haven't had a real airborne threat outside of a spy balloon that was allowed to complete it's mission before the kill order was sent. We ALWAYS have something to blow up on the ground and both have done so but the F-35 is going to be better at it. The F-22 is an irl cheat code plane for air to air. The F-35 does crazy things in the air too but not as crazy. The F-35 does crazy things with sensors the F-22 can't without a major upgrade. Both are amazing aircraft that shit all over pretty much everything else.

>>64754510
>B-b-but (insert aircraft here) beat them in a training dogfight!
With how many restrictions were placed on the F-22/F-35? How many handicaps for the other side? The problem is always going to be the super maneuverable stealth aircraft's pilot is going to have his hands tied behind his back at bare minimum in training. There's a reason why in IRL training they sometimes lose while in things like DCS you often get extreme disrespect situations like the Raptor getting behind and forming up with the aggressor undetected because the situation is far less controlled. Knowing when and where the other guy should be coming is a HUGE bonus and controlling that is the entire point of stealth aircraft. In a formal training that entire situation is known, controlled, and in the briefing. You know where he's coming from, when he's arriving, and how the engagement will start. Realistically the (insert aircraft here) is going to be smacked by a missile from beyond visual range having never actually detected the 22/35, which were alerted by AWACS that you existed and needed to burn.

It's fine to be proud of your local aircraft and pilots, but please for the love of god stop acting like they really totes for realsies beat either aircraft because of training situations.

>The problem is the fucking cost, which was and remains way too fucking much for what it is,

I used to believe this but I have changed my mind.

I am not quite to the point that I would agree with the following statement: "If I knew what I know now about the F-35, I would have given up body armor in 2007 to save the program." However, every military engagement so far pushes me closer to changing my mind.

Looking at the whitepaper it's using 5 planetary gearsets in Module C, just one more than the 8-speed ZF 8HP that's in so many cars. It looks like it has a forward/reverse unit in Module A so that gives you the 16 forward, 16 reverse speeds. Part of the whole design exercise was the elimination of torque converters and associated waste heat.
>Demonstrated pivot turns at 4 RPM

That's the thing, years ago I was hyped about the MDR and it didn't review well so I said forget it. The WLVRN reviews extremely well, some people who gave bad reviews to the MDR/MDRX gave great reviews to the WLVRN. I can't find a single bad review about it, the only way it fails is if the gas is set too low it seems.

>>

>advanced looking but not too impractical
-G11 (The caseless ammo is the most futuristic thing about it; there is no need to eject shell cases. I'm reminded of Halo's Needler; make as many guns as you can that are caseless.)
-P90 (The top mag that lays flat is every sci-fi enthusiast's wet dream; you could make many designs where the mag lays flat on the gun from the top, bottom, or even the side; after I was done writing my answer I scrolled down to see this >>64754742, it has great creativity. Plus, ejecting from the bottom is great if you don't want to design all your guns to use caseless ammo.)
-Kriss Vector (Having the barrel in front of your hand rather than the bottom of your hand helps reduce recoil greatly.)
-GM6 Lynx (Another bullpup like the P90 I mentioned. Bullpups have certain design challenges that make people hesitate in adopting them; in sci-fi we can assume they have all been solved. Make a bullpup anti-material rifle, make a bullpup grenade launcher, etc.)
-Mateba Model 6 Unica (Same reason as the Kriss Vector.)
-An extremely powerful railgun/coilgun that needs to be recharged after every shot.
-Minigun turret that has less than 6 barrels for a slower fire rate (inspired by the Halo turret).

>>64754523
The G11 had many problems irl: it was hard to disassemble and maintain, got really dirty, its round recoiled as much as a .308 while only delivering the power of a 5.56.

>>64754800
Why didn't I remember this one? The Maxim is a great addition to a sci-fi list, and we'd definitely see more integrally suppressed firearms if they weren't so heavily restricted here in the US, where half of the world's firearms reside.

I forgot to continue this; despite having so many shortcomings in real life, in a sci-fi setting they are irrelevant. All those problems could be written away.

Nah c’mon. That’s a gay job but you can’t be a retard and be any type of analysis. You’re at least communicating professionally and doing basic arithmetic regularly. How tf are you going to tell me someone with a STEM degree from a flagship going math and speaking professionally every day is retarded? C’mon man.
>>
>>64756034
If you know how stupid a bachelor's degree is you should know letting people in with a GPA below a 3.3 is just stupid. If you can't maintain a B+ average when most classes the requirement is to just show up, participate, follow instructions, and not blatantly use AI, you're too dumb to lead people.
>>
>>64756459
First of all, nobody with a proper STEM degree gets a 3.3. A diligent student in STEM can easily have a 2.5. Second, the grades are meaningless. They only show you were compliant with the coursework, bullshit coursework. They mean literally nothing important. Simply showing up and doing the bare minimum gets you 2.0 but nobody should care because you’re doing the bare minimum of nonsense. If anything you’re smarter if you choose not to waste your time on BS.
>>
>>64756459
Also, a lot of people just need to mature but once they get the grades they’re permanent. Caring about what a candidate got on a test at 18 when they’re 25, which is what valuing GPA does, is idiotic.
The whole college degree requirement is stupid. They mean nothing. You mean to tell me a guy with a 4,0 who has flipped burgers for the last 7 years would be a better officer than a smart 7 year enlisted? It’s boneheaded.
>>
>>64755265
Are you from that /pol/ thread yesterday?
I thought I answered your question pretty good. Guess not.

I am about to import 80,500 of these indian hesbee 22 short single shot handguns. They are currently in transit being shipped from India.

They have sat in storage as they were built in 1959 as gunlaws became more restricted in India.

If you were in my shoes, how do I make this business venture successful.

I purchased each pistol at 2160 rupees (around 24$) and they cost me ($1500 for import and $5000 in shipping) so i am in for abit under $2mil.

Do you think people will actually buy these or should I put my house for sale ASAP?

Having read so far, some top ideas.

I'll add:
- sell here on /k/ marketplace, give is a special deal you can afford for a couple weeks or the first hundred you sell here or something

- set price at $75/$80 for a single unit, but price break for people who buy 5 at a time, like $250 or $300

(You) CAN document these are virgin, original 1959 manufacture, right? That makes them unusual collectables, so don't undersell yourself too far. If you're not getting action, put some on temporary price reduction every now and then at random shake up your market and get your buyers looking & waiting for discounts. The raffle idea is pretty solid, too.

Realistically, what firearm would you need to take down a rampaging Na'vi from the Avatar films? Nine feet of solid muscle and bone (reinforced with natural carbon fibre), extremely fast-moving and agile, fighting on their own turf with very short engagement distances? There's no way 5.56 mm would cut it, would 7.62mm be enough?

Why wouldn't something like pic related work fine as a "do everything" gun for a person living in the densely forested hills of Appalachia, where the power and ballistic advantage of a rifle simply isn't necessary?
>plinking will be good fun with the naturally subsonic .45
>definitely suitable for home defense
>easy enough to fit in a backpack, or take the can off and carry it on your person
>get some .45 Super for killing deer or hogs, or mess around with round ball loadings for taking small game or for pest control
Yes, it's true that rifles can be had for dirt cheap these days. And it's also true that there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one gun, especially a handgun. But in an autistic min-max fantasy where you literally can only own one gun and it has to be able to be carried 24/7/365, does a suppressed .45 automatic make sense? The only real downside I see here is that this is not the best option for summertime concealed carry in hot climates.

Just buy a spare one. Unless you really think you need to change it. The locking block kit is available from Beretta for like 35 bucks, so it’s not expensive. If you wanna change it out, go ahead, but I’d definitely keep one handy regardless just in case since they’re so inexpensive.

do it now or wait till it breaks. you dont know how many rounds it has through it. either you assume the worst or you say fuck it and let it ride.
if its a carry gun that you have to count on its always a good idea to replace everyspring and possible breakage point in a used gun. if its a range toy who cares. if something breaks you go home order replacements and wait a few weeks no big deal.
