Christians, mostly. The people in government have to view you as "another child of God" or similar. They have to view you as "people".

Without that, it's just volunteering to be slaughtered, thrown into a gulag, or otherwise erased from public life.

It's one thing to play VR, quite another to replace your eyes with a pass-through and operate under challenging conditions in the real world, with a real body.
That's the huge reason everybody prefers analog over digital NVG. There are drawbacks, but they're not as disabling.
>>
>>64752263
Weight. Modern soldiers have to carry way more equipment in terms of mass that ISN'T weapons and armour than any kind of soldier or warrior in all of human history, a big chunk of which being ammunition which you absolutely want to carry as much as you can of in all circumstances, and on top of that modern ballistic armour is also heavier relative to its coverage than any armour type in all of human history, too.
Carrying ALL THAT SHIT plus a front plate, a back plate, and maybe a couple of side plates is pretty okay. Adding shoulder pads and a crotch plate is maybe pushing it, but tolerable, and if you're enough of a unit you might even be able to swing it without reducing the rest of your load anywhere. Full ballistic plate would be unthinkable in most environments.
The only way this will happen is if powered exoskeletons become viable (MANY secondary technology advancements required, and in large magnitude), gene-modded super-soldiers become a thing (the technology to do this technically exists right now), or someone invents some new type of ballistic armour that is ridiculously light relative to its protection factor. All three feel like kind of a stretch to me for various reasons, but it's TECHNICALLY possible, I suppose.
>>
>>64752294
>That's the huge reason everybody prefers analog over digital NVG
Analog NVG have phosphor decay time. Also both digital and analog FPV drones have very low latency and can have high refresh rates.

Digital NVG will replace analog what is holding them back is custom NVG OLED screens with the appropriate pixel density and brightness settings.

By using quantum sensing instead of traditional lenses and a CMOS camera, and then running reconstruction algorithms over time on the input, it's possible to get 20x the range, 1000x the processing speed, and sub-diffraction images.

It also reduces size and cost from Hubble scale to a big cubesat size.

>ive had a similar thought to all those larptubers training infantry tactics and doing LRRP shit in the forest.
Two fold. First, its significantly easier to access undeveloped woods for training so most of it biases towards that. Second, Its foundational for urban fighting. You build the concepts in the less complex terrain and then add on complex terrain (MOUT, mountain, jungle, littoral, etc) so people have a lens to observe the differences through. Its far easier to teach people who have a common foundational level of small unit skills and end up bending them to meet the advanced situation as need be.

Thankfully the obsession with larping as SF is creating some accidental successes as far as urbanized fighting is concerned. Lots of people possess low profile belts, slicker carriers, short rifles, etc and some generalized concepts about what to do in cqb situations. These cargo cult takeaways might be right, might be wrong but having some foundation is better than dropping a tribal shaman into a cs:go match

Yeah even with all that junk on it, it's like 1.25 MOA. At least with my shooting which isn't bad, but not spectacular either. It was more accurate when I had the bedded stock on it, so I'd go so far to say it could be sub MOA, but I think the real issue is keeping it accurate. I mostly just got the chassis because I have an unhealthy obsession of keeping the wood stock unmarred, and I couldn't find anyone local who could bed and fit a McMillan stock which was the same price as the chassis.

When the Geran/Shahed drones first appeared, I figured Russia would use them smartly in a classic SEAD/DEAD role: send waves of them to force Ukrainian IADS to light up radars and reveal positions, then follow up with VKS aircraft, with anti-radiation missiles to systematically dismantle those defenses.

Russia instead has chosen the most brain-dead and wasteful approach, by treating the Geran/Shaheds s as nothing more than slow, low-cost cruise missiles hurled directly at static infrastructure targets, while leaving the overwhelming majority of Ukraine's air defenses intact and free to keep operating.

They're banking entirely on brute-force volume and saturation to get a few through, completely abandoning any effort at SEAD/DEAD. But the thing is that they're not even achieving any kind of saturation effect since, the launches are scattered haphazardly across random cities, regions, and targets all over Ukraine that changes every night (some they they go after energy infrastructure, some other go after some depots, some others they try to hit some cities...), instead of making up their minds and concentrate them single high-value area, frontline sector, or even one major city at a time, and keep hitting them until achieving disruption or collapse. This is also precisely why so few targets are actually hit despite hundreds being launched every night, and so many of them are intercepted.

By contrast, even in the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela, the LUCAS drones (the American Shahed clones) were properly integrated into a coordinated SEAD/DEAD package.

We use per flat heating in Turkey. They're called kombi. They're not diesel but gas or electric. Many new apartments have diesel generators and central boilers. Diesel heating per apartment should be doable. At worst, just electric generator with electric heater is less efficient but will work.

Starting with this piece of shit. Any gun that gets a cracked frame within 20,000 rounds is an irredeemable hunk of absolute dogshit. That isn’t even a high round count for 9mm. Glock runs circles around beretta.

The frames cracked at 20k rounds with ammunition that Winchester had mistakenly loaded to proof load pressures. Cracking at 20k rounds with such abuse is actually really good. Beretta built a fix into the M9 to make it even safer anyway.

Roughly 45 years between the wright brothers plane and the introduction of combat jet aircraft.

Has anybody else even noticed the Fletner effect causing the slugs to drift in the opposite direction of slug rotation beginning at about 750 yards?
If I understand correctly past a certain distance with high powered rifles the slug's axis of rotation is locked at the high angle necessary to lob it that far. It's trajectory is roughly a parabola and as it descends from it's high point the relative airflow means it is traveling "belly-on" to the wind. Say it's right hand twist rifling = the right hand side of the slug is causing air to pile up there - and the rotation is causing the left hand side to "pull in" a similar amount of air.
So like a baseball spun up to be a curve ball - the bullet's path curves, too. When I shoot 1000 yards it is obvious that all the projectiles hit the target in a nose-up attitude. At 1100 yards some of them "have laid over on their side" veered off center. At 1200 yds they are all pointing at random directions and accuracy has gone all to fuck. I don't have a left hand twist rifle to check it against. Also it stands to reason that if you fitted the gun with a custom left hand twist barrel - it would unscrew from the breech eventually. I ain't buying another different rifle to test this - just hoping million to one somebody has a left hand rifled rifle and they noticed this going the opposite way.

3-9x are a dime a dozen and would be great for .223. SWFA has some ultralights in the 2.5-10x range and they're good beginner scopes. alternatively you can look for a fixed power, although not many manufacturers make one anymore. I think leupold and swarovski still make a 6x
