Was Flak useless or just a bad choose against bombers? The window to shoot them was tiny and the fragmentation radius was too small, it need almost a direct hit with time or proximity fuse.

It only make sense when you don't have fuel and aluminium for your interceptor planes.

You don't need to force the bomber to actively evade. Just having heavy flak present means bombers are forced to fly higher to increase survivability against it. And in a WWII context that means their accuracy goes to shit.

Night raids were just as bad. There's A LOT of shit that can go wrong.

>I recall a book about the stg-44 mentioning that the germans were incapable of producing as much 8mm as they were consuming.
That's because it was surprisingly widely adopted for a late war invention, I guess.
>>
flak was the best they had and main point was to force bombers high so they are inaccurate and at least try to shoot down
>>
>>64708368
Flak shot down 2x the amount of bombers as fighters

German Flak was highly effective and had complex and accurate targeting systems

Why isn't the 5.56 RDB more popular? I shot one at the range today as it was extremely pleasant to shoot. Nice trigger and adjustable gas system

G3 magazines would have been a poor choice because they don't have a bolt hold open tab and they are only cheap because of a huge glut of surplus. That has been drying up for years and prices have been going up.

The only good magazine pattern for a modern 7.62x51mm rifle would be the DPMS/SR-25 AR-10 pattern. It doesn't require locking in, it has a bolt hold open, good availability, low cost and a robust enough design.

Well, one: I want to know what kind of gun this is if it is not an M-16, when it damn well looks like an M-16.

Second: I want to know if what she is doing with her thumb is normal. She's clearly doing it to keep the magazine from sliding out.

Hello fren. Beginner shooter here. I have some 200 hours of AR15 training and have never seen anyone to operate the charging handle this way. I just tried it at home and it is straight up impossible. Also it looks like she is reloading; in that case you only need to hit the bolt release button.

Why do third world shitholes rely on centralized defense that can crumble in 3 JDAM strikes and not on decentralized massive militia (paramilitary/national guard) network equiped with smart ammo like Ukraine in 2021?

I mean, Venezuela actually relied on manpad spam than it's big iron SAMs.
They even made a big thing of showing the t shirt militia guys with them.
For larger systems they had 2 S-300 and like 8 buks and allegedly a lot more Pechora of dubious readiness for what they're worth.

According to images from recent military drills and some Marines talked about it on the Internet. The Republic of China (Taiwan) Marine Corps decided to replace all their T65s and T91s with US supplied M4A1 carbines, instead of buying the new T112 assault rifles. Do you guys think it's a good idea? Dumping the short stroke gas piston and go back to DI.
>>
>>64710757
its just taiwan
>>
That puts their guys in a slightly better position to receive future aid and overall they really can't exist without the US so being under the US umbrella more isn't an issue.
>>
>>64710761
It's official name is still Republic of China.
>>
>>64710778
Apparently dropping the "China" part and just calling it "Taiwan" is actually now antagonizing to the CCP since it implies a true independent nation rather than just unconquered territory in an un-concluded Chinese civil war. Won't you think of the poor, poor feelings of the Chinese people, Anon?

The problem with the el cheapo slings is that the clips suck absolute ass and will give out or bend out of shape.
>>
>>64707029
>recommendations for slings?
Obviously, Turner Saddlery or Andy's Leather. Turner's M1907 or Andy's Ching Sling is superior. There is a difference between a sling and a carry strap, there are used L1A1 straps here:
https://camolots.com/products/vintage-british-l1a1-slr-rifle-sling?variant=43334347849926 With new old stock (NOS) available on Ebay. Mine fits an L1A1 clone perfectly.

And what's wrong with that? Are you an eco marxist or something? Are people only allowed to buy vegan cookery books and organic hemp hats now?

Without people consuming, people loose jobs, people are poor, people don;t get to have things they want and the people who make those things are unemployed. Every single great museum has a private collection donated to it at it's heart,

Without consumers there would be no film, no radio, no tv, no home computers, no nice food, no work, nothing, just endless grey poverty.

You are poverty death and socialism which leads to tyranny.

M4 carbines etc don't penetrate SAPI plates. As for kevlar 4.6x30 round penetrates 150 layers of kevlar (typical flak/IIIA vests is 15-30 layers). If anything proliferation of SAPI plates makes Kellgrens concept of spam more micro bullets even more viable. Real way to deal with rifle plates that is used now is to shoot around plates and more bullets full auto 40 rounds per second gun with minimal recoil is what you want for that.

It’s both kind of funny and kind of sad that the Eastern Bloc (I know Yugoslavia technically wasn’t part of it) spent half a century training its population, building military bases and bunkers everywhere, and stockpiling weapons in case of an invasion by the West, only to end up turning their guns on each other. The Chechens literally used Soviet-made defensive plans and strategies they had prepared for a NATO invasion.

To many random-ass totally fictitious discussions are leaking into /k/ and it really should be stopped.

So with that bit of grandstanding out of the picture, Dragons. How would dragons be armed and armoured?

Or at least any dragon of intelligence enough to be given a pokey stick and know how to use it. I'll leave it totally ambiguous and to your superior discretion on what ‘kind’ of dragons we're talking about here beyond that or whatever period we’re dealing with. Whatever, go long with it.
A /vs/ board should be made which would solve the off topic vs threads problem. It’s a head scratcher that 4chan doesn’t have a /vs/ board to begin with.
Arming a flying unit with melee weapons is retarded. Give it bunches of steel bolts tied to bundles that it can then drop on enemy formations. Or just give it rocks to drop on the enemies.
