The new M14. What in the world was the US Army thinking?

Just spitting facts anon.
>>

The m4 is DI, while the m7 is SSGP. They're mechanically distinct.
>>
We'll wait and see, the AR/M16 was a piece of shit, now it's one of the greatest and most reliable rifles ever.
>>
>>64341520
The M16 was always good. People at the time didn't realise it because of bullshit like the rifle not coming with cleaning kits, and the magazines having weak springs. The west had never tried intermediate power rifles before. It was just the soviets and their AK47s.

But we have tried the m7 before, in the form of the M14, the FAL, the G3, and so on. We know it's a bad gun, in theory and in practice.
>>
>>64338402
Did you not hear the news? The army wanted to shorten the rifle barrel to 11.5 inches on the PIP model, which completely defeats the purpose of whatever reason to have it. The complaint was "It's too heavy". Yeah, it's the gun's fault and not the .308 cope ammunition for it right?

How hard is it for a loser to become a cop in LA? Any agency, dont really care which.
>late 20s
>short and skinny
>prior military
>unable to find work for over a year
>1 dismissed charge over 2 years ago
I just want a job, but preferably in LA area because its easier to date brown/asian women than white women, and there is a lot of them. The military will probably take me back because they are desperate. Are the police desperate too?

So if a major crimes unit detective goes to get a drink at the gas station and witnesses a robbery you think he should just sit back and watch?

if you don't like the hours you can go be a cowboy in palmdale, you definitely get to use your gun too

City cop here, work for a mid-size municipality on the east coast so I can't speak for L.A but I'll give you my personal experience. I have six years of experience on patrol /one year on SWAT. (Our team is part-time meaning you still work your normal job, you just keep your shit in your trunk in case of a callout. I'm still a patrol cop day-to-day)

>Do your research and find the agency that best fits you
Start learning all you can about agency policies, schedule, etc. (not just salary) What is their rate of turnover? Do the cops there trust their administration? A place where cops stay for a couple years and dip is not a good sign. My city has an extremely high rate of turnover due to restrictive policies and admin pissing everyone off. At six years in I am unfortunately one of the most experienced people on patrol now. That makes my job hell because my teammates are baby cops who often need guidance to complete simple tasks. I stay for the pay (city agencies typically pay more than county around here), but I often wonder if I'd be happy somewhere else. Best intel comes from talking to those officers and doing ride-alongs if possible

>Find out if the agency you're applying to has tuition assistance or some sort of degree program
Much like you probably saw in the military, you are probably going to have people outrank you simply because they have a degree and you don't. Some agencies also give raises for having degrees. If you find an agency that will pay for your college, you can basically get a degree (and a raise) for free.

crazy how pena got typecast as a cop.

fucking character limit,

Anyways not to be longwinded but be ready to deal with the consequences of your career choice. The average person experiences 2-3 'Critical Incidents' (traumatic experiences) in their life. Over a 30 year career the average cop will experience around 178. You need to keep your mental health in check because if you let it, this job will make you a jaded piece of shit and the people you know will leave because of it. People will also leave/dislike you solely because of what you do. The average cop also only lives 8 years after retirement due to stress, poor diet, etc.

All of this being said, it is the best job in the world. I get paid to drive fast with screaming sirens, fight, shoot guns, and train. I have defibrillated people in cardiac arrest, treated more gunshot wounds than I can remember, pulled people out of burning cars, fought for my life, put bad people in jail, had experiences I'll never forget and forged bonds of brotherhood with some of the best guys I've ever known. I can genuinely say that those moments are worth all the bullshit. Just keep your head down and try to do the right thing at the right time for the right reasons.

Real non meme answer is battery life and no shake awake/half to press the buttons every few hours to keep it on. The upside is if you really need a red dot to take direct shrapnel and still work you can crack all the glass and still use it. Like the Acog they both are oriented around durability over anything else.

The drop in velocity in a G29 vs G20 is not as much as you think
>My chronograph tells me that the velocity difference isn’t that much, less is lost with heavier bullets. Handloaded 165 grain Gold Dots that average 1420 from a Glock 20 run at about 1360 out of a 29. 180 Grain XTPs that average 1350 from a 20 are running about 1305 from a 29
You're better off arguing it's harder to control due to muzzle flip

I'd rather train and carry a G29 for self defense over any other gun, especially in a state that limits us to 10 rounds of either caliber.
>>
>>64341508
>180 Grain XTPs that average 1350
Do you have urban grizzlies or what? If you're basing your decisions on Bubbas most retarded "just use the case to scoop the power pistol and level it with the bullet" nuclear handloads there's also nothing stopping your carrying .45 Super loaded to Rowland specs or 356TSW with a 'lil extra.

>>

it doesn't cock the fucking gun you stupid nigger. you have to rack the slide to do that. if it was da you could fire over and over without racking the slide but it doesnt because you're a dumb nigger that doesn't know what they're talking about. get a light strike in a P226 and you can fire over and over till it hits. fire a glock once and the trigger doesnt fucking do anything you braindead retard

Apparently its a coolguy meme in their media for a protagonist to walk moodily next to track tracks with a train passing by, but the retards filming themselves doing it stand too near the tracks so they get clipped by the train.

I cant wait for this little bastard to get released. It has a full hydraulic buffer just like the apc 223, along with 3 position gas piston. Telescoping stock. Very reliable and low recoil. Avg apc 223 goes for 4500$. The spc 223 will be around 2500$ new, which will completely crush any AR in that price range. You do the math.

Anyway, Shalom fellow /k/ikes.
