And yet stuff is still getting out
I think we would've seen/heard more than these few traces we've got if they were really going after what's got to be the most closely guarded target in Iran
At some point they would have to fly over highly built up areas to get to the INTC
The rescue op, by comparison, would take place in mostly uninhabited/sparsely populated areas, making it far more likely they could pull it off without getting spotted

>100% instant casualty radius in excess of 520 feet (160 m). The shell's greatest effect would have been its extreme prompt neutron radiation which would have killed most of the enemy troops inside that circle within minutes. Its blast would do very little if any damage to the enemy's tracked vehicles. Troops further away would have died within hours, days and less than two weeks depending on their range from the point of burst and the effectiveness of their protection.

Does anyone here have experience with 10m air pistol shooting? I wanted get into some form of bullseye competitive shooting that isn't two gun matches since it wouldn't involve me having to run around like a jackass. Plus .177 cal competition pellets are far cheaper than having to stock up on real ammo. I was looking around for an air pistol and I noticed there are massive price jumps.
>Air Venturi Steyr knockoff
While it is only ~$650 online people seem to complain about the grips and also don't appear to be all that accurate after you get out of being a novice
>Hammerli AP20 Pro
I want to get one of these since they seem to be an okay price, but I am unsure what they are lacking being $1000 cheaper than a Steyr, Morini, or even a Pardini
>Steyr, Morini, and Pardini
I noticed most Olympic shooters go with either a Steyr LP10 (pic rel) but I am unsure what these three offer or differ over the other options other than I know most of the offerings from Morini have an electronic trigger and I know I am not overly crazy over that. But I am not sure dropping $2200-2500 on a pistol when I am unsure if I would even like the sport is wise to do when just starting out.
>Used pistols
I see older pistols like Walther CPs or Feinwerkbau pistols go for a lot less on Fuddjoker or ebay, but I am unsure if spare parts exist or if the air tubes have service lives from being constantly filled and unfilled, seals, trigger parts, etc. are hassles I want to deal with.

I haven't seen one in a good while. I'm seriously thinking about buying an AUG soon so I'd like some advice.

I know there's both 5.56 and .300 blackout variants to choose from and I'm leaning towards the .300 and just using supersonic ammunition. AUGs are notable for being poor suppressor hosts anyways, right? Plus, prices for supersonic .300 aren't that bad according to AmmoSeek when compared to 75/77gr 5.56 which I already buy. Plus if I ever change my mind about .300 I could just buy a 5.56 barrel.

I tried shooting an F2000 once and I don't know if it was just the gun I was shooting but it seems like it was extremely difficult to remove the mag in general from the gun.
>>
>>65054336
Yeah it has a gasket around the mag. Keeps it a sealed system but makes mag changes harder. Before they were not available anymore and all the spare parts sent to Ukraine people used to just shave the gaskets, doing that lets you use mags too but im happy with the sticky mag changes.

>>
>>65051168
I can't find the source of this but iirc wasn't our broad response to the 3 types of WMDs:
-If you escalate to nuclear weapons we are strongly considering nuking you back, tactical operations notwithstanding. You may, depending on the end of the war, still manage to have self-rule and international recognition of your statehood
-If you use chemical weapons we WILL nuke your ass in retaliation. We're probably gonna occupy your country afterwards if not dissolve it in the long run after thoroughly dismantling your military assets to be safe.
-If we strongly suspect you are planning on releasing biological pathogens/lab grown diseases we will go full exterminatus and glass your country until nothing is left alive just to be sure
>>
>>65045876
Nobody wants to deal with decon/ppe/dying horribly for negligible military benefit so we all agreed not to.
>>
>>65045876
A nuke goes off in a single spot and the radiation dissipates within weeks.
A normal bomb is the same but without the radiation.
Orange crush kills the plants and defoliates the area, then sticks in the soil for anywhere from a year to several decades depending on where it leaches into, causing issues in the local population for what can sometimes be generations.
Anthrax, especially anti-biotic resistant strains, can get around terrifyingly easily, and is just as liable to fuck up the guys dropping it as the guys being hit by it.

Do you need special munitions to take out power plants in a similar way to runway cratering and taking out hardened bridges?

It seems like Russia and Ukraine just take the route of trying to hit critical components and grid connectors but we've seen that so long as you have access to components then you can quickly return to business after a strike.

Meh, the Israelis have been saying they're months from a bomb for 30 years and US intelligence reported their program wasn't active as of February. It's more likely the Israelis pushed hard for this now because this admin is the last window they could realistically get America to go to war for them for the foreseeable future.

the Israelis said they were building cascades; the Iranians did
the Israelis said they were learning how to build warheads; the Iranians did
the Israelis said they were producing weapons-grade uranium; the Iranians did
etc etc

step by step from the ground, every step was documented by the Israelis, but you deploy this "months from a bomb for thirty years" bullshit to cover up that fact up in rhetorical strawmanning

>US intelligence reported their program wasn't active as of February
semantic wordplay that working on rebuilding cascades is allegedly not the same as working on a nuclear warhead, and ignoring that Iran itself claimed its weapons-grade uranium stockpiles were intact
>>
>>65051375
If that was their goal they wouldn't be attacking random civilian targets in countries that aren't hostile to them. It seems they don't even have a unified strategy since their president apologized for the attacks and IGRC doubled down on them right after.

yeah ok but those are not really vibrations. I started very early with drones, back when we still used brushed motors and during tight maneuvers motors could easily get overpowered and all kind of crazy behavior and crashes would happen.
pic unrelated, doing this old spark for a friend, ripped arm off while flying in dense fog. bottom sensor got wet and it started detecting ground despite being 500m in the air, when this happens it refuses to descent... till battery runs out and it just falls from the sky.
arm got reattached with aircraft grade araldite and it'll be good again.

>>
>>65053286
Ok, now start doing the math on how many degrees you can track with what kind of reliability, and therefore how many units you need. Where you need to install them to avoid gaps in coverage.
Then figure out how you're going to hide them, because jets are fast and move around a lot. Your AA system is largely static by comparison and trivial to keep tabs on using various forms of ISR.
When they start launching stand off munitions (which outrange you) overhead, do you reveal yourself to shoot them down?

You will quickly find that the economics of making this happen are extremely unfavorable and you should have just built a good airforce.
>>
>>65054081
Daylight good weather detection would be pretty easy actually.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=zFiubdrJqqI
Modern daylight camera pixels have extremely low cost
Thermal cameras pixels have like 10000-100000 times more coat though, so might detection would much more expensive.
>>
>>65054174
I would add that Ukrianians build similar in principle system to detect Shahed drones. Only it uses acoustic sensors. Now system runs about 15000 networked microphones and covers pretty much entire country. Detects flying lawnmowers day and night and bad weather.
>>
You would need to combine the IR cameras with acoustic sensors as well for a truely powerful passive AD network but I’m not sure if it’s theoretically possible to pick up the sound waves in a meaningful way

Maybe Zeppelins hovering over the airspace and scanning for acoustic noise
