I'm seeing news reports that Trump wants $1.5 trillion in military spending for 2027, significantly more than the $800 billion being spent this year. Realistically, what could/will the US military do with all this extra spending?

Good morning, /k/. Hopefully this doesn't kill a good thread.
I'm hoping someone still has this image. It was pretty regularly shared back in 2009-2012.
It was a "prepper" image, with half of it being greentext of a man talking to his anti-gun neighbor about prepping. His neighbor boasted about having food, medicine, gardening supplies, etc., but no guns to protect it. The man talking to him summed it up by saying something along the lines of "So you have food, medicine, and supplies. Your gun nut neighbor on the other side of you knows that you have it, and don't believe in owning guns. How will that work out for you if something happens?" And the greentext ends with "his face after I say this:", and it's an image of a man with a shocked look on his face. Does anyone have this image? Can you share it with me, please?
Old H&R top break for size reference.

First off, you fucking pleb, learn how to spell.
Second, do the obvious thing of standing in a position to make yourself as small as possible. But a dumbass like you should stand in the St Andrew position and do society a huge favor.
Third, DO NOT wear any type of clothing above the waist and make sure the clothes you do wear and yourself is clean. I know you're going to ask why so I'll spoon feed you- If you do get shot you'll most likely either die immediately or within hours due to shot placement (rare), or die days/weeks later because of infection (common).

To be fair, the fact that the US had to do an in and out mission and didn't hang around to bomb targets at will for a few hours later is proof that the US was concerned of potential viable threats in the area.
Whether those threats were radars is unlikely, but there is a limited timeframe for decoys and chaff to work effectively.
>>
The Chinese used their backdoor into the radars and intercepted all signals for analysis while appearing not to work on the Venezuelan side. When the US attempts anything against China they'll be caught off guard by the efficacy of the radars. All Chinese sold equipment function as signit devices when used against us hardware

Well one thing is that the percussion Colt Pocket Pistols just don't share even the same architecture as the Belt Models and THEY don't share any architecture with the Saddle Models.
The mechanical kinematics of DAO can be much simpler than DA.SA lockwork. In the abstract it has to be a pair of levers 1) extending from the back of the trigger, and above it 2) extending forwards from the hammer 3) arranged such that 2 is disengaged from 1 when hammer fully cocked, and 4) also such that 1 can return to initial position with 2 also in initial position.

>I'd pay for soft armor that would stop basic m193
Rule of thumb is that M193 will go through 120+ layers of kevlar with breathing room. Your typical IIIA vest is no more than 35. That's the difference in strength between pistol and rifle armor.
About 2001-2002, Second Chance or another big cop shop allegedly developed a 7.62x39 mild steel core rated soft armor vest using a Zylon-Spectra (Z-SHIELD) layup and it wasn't that heavy. IIRC, areal density was ~1.2lb/ft2. Certainly an M193 / M80 version would have followed by 2008. The whole situation with Zylon however shitlisted that part of the tech tree for good. Pity. That set the industry back by more than two decades. You'll have your M193 rated soft armor by 2035 but it'll be costly, using very good UHMWPE or maybe some new fiber.
>Sweet n sour. Classic. Sauce better have at least two pineapple chunks and 2 carrot shanks or they're cheap.

Damn shame that. I mean it is somewhat a "solved" problem (soft armor), but I'd like to see more variety compared to what's out there currently. I wouldn't even be mad if they made some strange icw type setup. Not to obsess over icw, but think like a m210 but even thinner. Now if only we could get it to fold.

>I mean it is somewhat a "solved" problem (soft armor)
The past twenty years of soft armor development have basically been trying to throw money into UHMWPE to cope with Zylon being a total failure. Progress is slow. Modern Hardwire-57 is about where Safariland Zero-G Black Diamond was in 2002.
>but I'd like to see more variety compared to what's out there currently
To give Safelife credit for once, they're trying to push a robust IIIA+ hard but the areal density is high. NIJ is getting rid of IIA completely with 0101.07, so we're down to two handgun levels (HG1 = II, HG2 = IIIA). I'd like to see an HG3 that standardizes robust 5.7 / 50gr Liberty / 7.62x25 protection. I'd also like to see an RF4 good for 3x M993 so you can cert XSAPIs and an RF5 for .50 caliber AP but you can't always have what you want.
>Not to obsess over icw, but think like a m210 but even thinner
Rumor has it Hesco has a super-thin, no-foam one shot M855A1 plate. Very little is known about it, rumored weight is sub-3lb. Probably ICW. I don't have a model number but it could be U225. It's similar (but lighter) to the old Ceradyne MSAPI (pic rel, found on reddit) which is an ICW, very thin single strike 7.62x39 BZ API plate in the sub-4lb range. One of the rarer "SAPI family" members. Was replaced by the LTC 28720 in the early 2010s, which is thicker but more robust. I don't think the MSAPI has drop foam.
I know people tend to egg on "Hesco rumors" but we did find out the Hesco 3885, the old /bag/ legend, exists. It's apparently the SC3812 and is about where it was expected. 3.8lb, RF2 + M855A1 SAPI M. 3.6lb if it were a 10x12.
>Now if only we could get it to fold.
Ceraflex says hello. Tencate had flexible rifle armor rated to stop M993 (Ceraflex PL-7300) twenty years before Dragonskin got unfucked, and I'm not even sure if that's so. I just know it's allegedly part-Chinese.

I just spent forever (fucking weeks) trying to buy fully legal parts for an AR15 in Washington so I made www.compliantarms.com over the weekend to make it easier for others.

It aggregates AR15 parts listings that will ship to Washington from a few of the biggest firearms sites. For example, the only PSA listings on there are complete uppers since for whatever reason that’s all they’ll send.

Have seen others having problems finding websites that ship as well so I figure it’s needed but do you guys think I should expand it to more states and more categories?

That's sad, it could be a pretty cool state. Like you said it's so empty and the no sales tax thing is pretty sweet. I looked it up and apparently you need a permit just to buy a fucking pistol in the first place, fingerprinting is just fucking insane. I guess it's similar to how some of these southern states like md and Virginia are getting bad because of the proximity to dc. It's pretty insane how shitty little liberal cities full of foreigners and darkies are allowed to just strong arm their entire states. Im terrified that philly will do to Pa what nyc did to ny.

basically you miss the internet before the collective online IQ dropped from mass zoomer and 3rd world access

Why wouldn't something like pic related work fine as a "do everything" gun for a person living in the densely forested hills of Appalachia, where the power and ballistic advantage of a rifle simply isn't necessary?
>plinking will be good fun with the naturally subsonic .45
>definitely suitable for home defense
>easy enough to fit in a backpack, or take the can off and carry it on your person
>get some .45 Super for killing deer or hogs, or mess around with round ball loadings for taking small game or for pest control
Yes, it's true that rifles can be had for dirt cheap these days. And it's also true that there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one gun, especially a handgun. But in an autistic min-max fantasy where you literally can only own one gun and it has to be able to be carried 24/7/365, does a suppressed .45 automatic make sense? The only real downside I see here is that this is not the best option for summertime concealed carry in hot climates.

Nigger you are too dumb to even follow what I’m saying. You said JHPs don’t reliably expand. That was true 30 years ago. Not today.

As for OPs question, I asked him to post - pistol groups at 25 yards to answer his question. Absolutely shocked I got no response.

> 45 is slightly larger than .36
Correct. Weight has no bearing in this context since FMJ since both get plenty of penetration for the scenario described by OP.
>muh gel
I didn’t bring up gel tests. You did. Go ahead and try to show real world wound channels between 230gr .45 FMJ and 147gr (or even 115 or 124) 9mm FMJ where they have similar shot placement in similar tissue (people, animals, whatever).

We’re giving you shit because you’re acting like .45 is special for being “naturally subsonic”. Our counter arguments are so are many other calibers that are just as easy or easier to get. If you want to argue .45>9mm, ok. But that’s a different thread completely.
