I apologize. what I meant to say was that that is an Imperial German Mauser K98k. Easily pre 60s. They didn’t solder barrels to barrel extensions back then did they? I’m hesitant to MAP the barrel up past 600°F to find out. I don’t think it is.

A more general question, has that ever been a method to time bbls in place?
>>
>>64747214
dude i dont care that its not milsurp i want to know what it is
model 11/ 11-48? i think the barrel extension is an integral forged part. idk anything about newer remingtons
and what do you mean by timing barrels
>>
>>64747212
Jeez real boomer hours today
>>64747227
11. My barrel extension is cracked and is trash and is expendable. However I’m trying to save the barrel to throw onto the new extension I have already sitting next to the barrel vice on the bench. Shits not budging. I’ve applied some heat so far but it hasn’t cracked it yet. I’ve applied enough force already to bend the rails the extension though I do have a cheap eBay trash action wrench.
>>
>>64747057
Who the hell is buying these anyways? It’s not like M48s are particularly rare or expensive.

You've heard of FRTs, but what's a "super safety"?
>uses the safety to force the reset of the trigger
>allows for way more trigger options (you just have to trim two places)
>invented by Tim Hoffman (https://hoffmantactical.com)
>gifted to the world to freely 3D print
>enterprising people now selling super safeties made of steel (recommend at least 4140)
>cheaper than an FRT ($90-$150)
>originally a 3-position cross-bolt safety
>left is safe, right is semi, middle is super
>3-position 90° super safety selectors are now available

NTA but the more common it is the better in my opinion
and an FRT will still look better to most people than a full on machine gun, i already know several people in ban states with FRTs but none of them would dare make a machine gun

We get it bro you just watched the hop video

You can just have a guy mig weld a little bit of aluminum onto the ledge and then grind it down a little. Or just take a 1/8 bit and drill a little bit into the area to the left of the ledge so the latch sits lower. The problem he mentions in the video is that companies are not actually drilling the cavity deep enough and that's true and also the solution

I bought a Quest just to play Ace XR, and it's still the only game I've ever played on it. Totally worthwhile investment.

Interesting side effect: I'm actually okay at point shooting now, a la Han Solo. Turns out if you have enough "ammo" you can get pretty decent at it. I still would never shoot from the hip 'IRL' (which God willing will never happen), but it's a fun party trick at the range.

prob my goty for 2025 honestly, supports different playstyles and the world has a cool feeling despite (sometimes because of) the sparse art and it feels very baroque influenced too.

if you were to give me a riding horse i'd probably learn how to ride it. Hell, i'd just have to spend some time looking at a guy riding one to figure it out. I would be BAD at it, sure, but i would learn how to ride.
Same with a windmill. If i were somehow stuck in a windmill and needed it to run to survive i'd figure it out. Would it suck and would i make mistakes? Yes. But i would figure it out.
The point isn't knowing what the older generations did, is being able to figure it out.
Humans cant just pass on infinitely growing wisdom from one generation to the next, so its the current and new generation's responsibility to just be smart enough to figure it out.

Literary rates in the US are split in to 3 levels, with Level 3 being the highest; anything below is considered “partially illiterate.” From 2017, we had 48% of the adult population reading at Level 3, 33% at Level 2, and 19% for Level 1. There was a 2% increase in Level 1 and a 2% decrease in Level 3 from 2012. For 2021, the rates are now at 28%, 29%, and 44% for Levels 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Numeracy rates have remained relatively the same, but people are becoming more illiterate for this past decade alone. Not to say that means people are becoming dumber, but being literate is a huge hurdle for the modern world and being able to make effective decisions in an information and text rich world. One could argue that you probably want to be able to read the name of the person you’re voting for on a ballot, but if you see announcements for portraits being put on ballots then you know why.

Unironically, I think wheeled IFVs might become more common given the resilience of wheeled vehicles against mines. Instead of the track being blown off they can retain some mobility with the remaining wheels.

Given how Soviet/Russian doctrine has them advancing with and supporting infantry, BTRs, especially the 80A/82A count as IFVs at least from a doctrinal standpoint, even if they may as well have paper armor

Its truly amazing trying to understand what these people think. It's like they plan to just wildly mag dump in an attackers general direction, then unironically think that an attacker is going to ignore the first 10 rounds headed their direction until deciding that the 11th was too much and giving up.

9mmlets are mentally ill.
>>
>>64742502
May as well use .22 lr at that point. More ammo capacity, less recoil.

Or maybe you want to kill the perp in 2-3 shots instead of 10-15+ nerf darts, giving the bullet sponge Somali daycare employee time to kill your ass as well as he is going down.
