Next up is one of my favorites in my arsenal: A Remington Sportmaster 512, tube mag, in 22 short, long or lr. She was the first gun my gramps ever bought with his own money, built in december 1940 or january 1941.Gramps had a 3/4 scope mounted to it, but the wires went funky on me somewhere. Got a cheap $20 tasco from walmart on it now.I stripped and refinished the barrel and receiver last year with one of those birchwood casey kits, and im pleased with the look. I wanna redo the stock with a kokopelli on it, havent decided what route to take.

And since the mags are designed to hold 8 rounds of 338lm, it actually is possible to squeeze in an extra round of 300wm too though it's tighter to feed the first and maybe not a good idea to do regularly, but in principle you could have 9+1 and it'll work. Being designed for 338 also means you've got all the coal you could ever want for 30cal. The 8rnd mag is long enough though that you can't rest the gun flat anymore on the handle and need the monopod or a sandbag.It's a first party mag designed just for the srs though and afaik nobody else makes something compatible, just too fucking niche. Be pretty surprised to see anyone do a mag clone for a boltie that has probably sold low to mid 5-figures worldwide in its entire history. And they're expensive. Fortunately it's at least a pretty decent mag.
