Hey Reloadin' Anons.I have this Lyman powder dispenser that came with the victory kit. But every time I try to use eith with imr 4350, it like crunches the power sticks and doesn't distribute easily or cleanly. How do I fix it?
>>65033170>fixThat's the nature of powder dispensers. It won't hurt anything, just know that you'll have to use a powder trickler to get precise charges.
>>65031129>>65031188A few months ago I was at the range with a guy building a 7mm prc, used retumbo for his testing. It smoked out the range with each shot - not as bad as BP but damn close

Late models had a long gun that has a foot and change on the L-11 IIRC. No idea what difference that makes to muzzle energy and I don't really care since it's irrelevant to my point anyway>>65032977not every (or even most) T-34s had flawless metallurgy, but we're comparing them to the (riveted) M3, so the T-34's superiority should be obvious if you have a frontal lobe

Still looking for info/advice about making synthetic stocks at home. Fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin, foam, that kind of thing, not nylon.Previous: >>64933822
>>65032447Almost want to do a 300blk bolt gun, and still might but just how quiet a bolt action 22 can be is insane
>>65030787I have a localish place that has a better selection of resin varieties I'll use, then figure out fiberglass mat sourcing.>Honestly though, why? There's a stock I really like but the only copy someone has made for the rifle I want is made of ply which is heavy as fuck. Also like $700 for a $500 gun. Plus it comes from Eastern Europe, so god help me after shipping and import, etc. Without a scope I'd be looking at like $1500 for gun+stock all for a super heavy stock that doesn't look quite right anyways; I figure it's a good a time as any to learn fiberglass. Also once I learn then I can teach others how.>printedMeh, as a mold, maybe.
>>65032822You will end up spending about 1500 or more with anything but bondo fiberglass either way printing saves a lot of fuckup money and time. Unless you already have a plan for mock-ups.
>>65033336Mockups ocould probably be done with foam or cheap ass wood which eventually becomes a "master". Put a peelable layer or release on it maybe. If I really need to, I could probably make a fiberglass mold for the stock using the foam/wood master instead of using the master as something to make a shell around (instead making the two halves in separate flat molds). If needed, you could vacuum bag over the master to make the shape better if you're going with shell over master -> remove -> re-assemble. I don't see how it will get to even $1k; I have a manufacturer within my state and most of their materials fall into the price range of $40-50/2 pints no matter what it is. I may expect to use two of those and some glass weave or mat. Then some filler and epoxy and some foam for the guts. With fuckups and everything, max like $300-500. I'd do wood but I've done that before and it often turns out heavy because surprise, good wood is dense and precision rifle stock designs made for synthetic materials are often wide or have a lot more volume to them.
>>65033336But you may be right about the printer part. Download a model, scale to rifle in your printer software or model editing software, print it double wall with somewhat low infill, and make a shell over it with fiberglass and resin. Then cut in half so you have a left and right and peel the PLA out. Reassemble, glue the halves, and foam fill, then bed. It's been so long since I got into anything new with printers; what used to take like an hour and 30 min to print now takes like 40 min. Anyone else remember ReplicatorG? Maybe you've been around longer than me and use(d) PronterFace like Ben Heck...
Post gear, discuss gear.On the edge / Tactical Hood editionOld: >>65005166
>>65027593For just mags yeah, even most airsoft placards would hold up decent.
How many tourniquets do you carry? I have 3 on my PC and 3 on my belt kit. I keep two immediately reachable by either hand and one in/on IFAK on each line of gear. Should I get tested for autism?
>>65032610That's actually not a bad price. The days of people selling these for $400 because they don't know what they do are over. They more-or-less sidegrade the Hesco 4800. Lighter, but concede M2AP completely. Highest they go is 7.62x54R B-32 API, but multi hit against weaker threats per Buffman is very respectable. Probably better drop pro than the 4800, since they're modern military plates. The LTC 28570 does the same thing this plate does but with a ~0.4lb weight reduction. GEN-VI Tac. Standalone is supposedly 4lb or whereabouts.
>>65033163>Should I get tested for autism?Yes.
>>65033414Thankfully my kids don’t seem to have it. I’m undiagnosed but I’m pretty sure, likely due to circumcision and vaccination
How do picrel compare to the original full size Wranglers? I have one of the originals and it is my favorite .22lr plinker. Are the little birds heads ones just as good? Is it worth picking one up?Also, revolver general I guess.
>>65016715My shooting buddy had that exact gun and I got to fire about 30 shots thru it the day we went. Also shot a .357 Redhawk (snubnose version). It was the first time I had fired any revolvers at all, so I can easily compare it in my mind and remember it well. I couldn't tell you about value as I have no idea, neither gun was mine. I loved the .22 though, it is an excellent little plinker and very easy to use and/or teach a new shooter the basics of revolvers.
>>65018418Charter Arms. Don't bother with new S&Ws' shambolic QC.
>>65016738ruger gp100
>>65031618>Charter ArmsFelt it should be said that Charter Arms also doesn't have great QC. The cylinders sometime get stuck and need to be hit with a mallet to release. >>65031405engineering something people want while trying to make money off it as a one or two man team is really damn hardits not the overall design that's difficult its the trial and error in the details that get yout. trying to make my vz58 frt design not vaporware>>65031412setting deadlines is the worst design flaw you can havebuilding hype is important but i feel like i just keep constantly disappointing people who are keeping tabs on my effort, they would've been happier and i would've been happier if i just took my time

Youre on the right track you just need to do like 10x the amount of reading you're currently doing>>65031369Mine isnt even made by mark serbu but the company wont make anymore because the liability issues with this short of a shotgun. I understand this, ive let people borrow my faux supershorty to breach a door and the blast overpressure is so great its left a foot long bruise on their leg. >>65032724The concept works fine with tapered cases, you just can't make 50-round magazines with straight walls if they're full of tapered cases.
>>65032016NTA but I enjoy it a lot with friends, the partner AI when playing by yourself is totally garbage and they still get stuck on doors and will stand there saying they’re going to do something, and not doing it. While they’re getting magdumped in the face. Very frustrating, but the levels, guns, and general gameplay are good, there’s some odd choices in the weapon selection though.
>>65032957Just looking at the mag, you either loose out on a ton of capacity for the sake of compactness(think single stackish) or magazines become even weirder to manipulate and fit more 9mm. Not to mention the overhaul the gun itself would have to go through to accommodate 9mm.We're glazing over a lot stuff here to simplify this concept. It's a lot bigger than just tapered bullets.
