Anyone here actually use D-Lead products, or any leadremovers in general?I am currently looking at wipes, hand soap, body wash & shampoo, laundry detergent, and a lot more but theres too many to name...How many should I buy, and should I just buy all of them to be safe?I shoot a fair amount and I’m going to be shooting way more this year than I ever have, and I'm starting to wonder how paranoid I should be about lead exposure...Because I’ve heard horror stories about young dudes who shot their whole lives, never wore gloves, never washed right, ate at the range, reloaded bare-handed and endedup with fcknCANCER or straight up DEAD a few decades later from lead poisoning.>Is this a legit concern, or am I turning into a schizo?>What precautions actually matter (ventilation, washing hands, changing clothes), and what’s overkill?>I also have Pets, and I don't want them getting sick either.
>>64757161Lead doesn't cross the skin barrier unless it's part of a more complex compound. It's just not soluble enough in skin oil.
>>64757139Have you SEEN the cost of healthcare these days?
>>64754353>bait postyeahAnyways, taking this in a more productive direction, one of the reasons I bothered to finally get a range membership was the local range keeping d-lead soap on hand right outside the range for people to wash their hands with before heading out. It was the first time I'd ever seen a range do that. Seems like a good and easy solution to reduce exposure and contamination since you arent rubbing your lead hands all over your steering wheel and shit before having to go home just to clean off. I know I'm guilty of the occasional food trip before thoroughly cleaning my hands off just because it'd be extra trips and I was hungry then. If your range doesn't do similar consider talking to the employees and seeing if they can maybe get management to do similar. No point in living your life in fear, but little things like this take very minimal effort/cost for a reduction in risk.
>>64754353I can't imagine living in fear like that.Wash your hands after shooting and call it a day
>>64755691Don't overthink it. You don't need to do this. Wash your hands after you're done shooting (or don't, I normally don't bother until I get home and then only if I remember to do so) and stay out of indoor ranges if you can. I've been shooting and casting bullets, at times professionally, since 1996. I've been tested annually for lead by my employer for every year of that except for 2005-2008. The one year that I had an elevated level was 2004, and I was working in a WWII-era tiny indoor range at the time. It cleared up at the same time that I got transferred to a newer range. The inhalation was what got me, and that was because I was spending 50 hours a week there. If I had children in the house I would be a little more careful, but then again my house was built in 1931 and all of the paint on the walls under the last two or three layers is lead based, so I would be managing my expectations there too. The newer layers of non-lead latex like to flake off in high humidity, especially in the bathrooms. I don't freak out when this happens. I just refrain from eating paint chips. My lead levels were, are, and probably will continue to be just fine.>and we don't need to talk about the literal tons of lead that were dumped into and onto everything over the last century of burning leaded gasolineThere are a few things in the world to be legitimately anxious about. This isn't one of them. Just don't be a fucking retard and you'll be fine.

Why aren't ballistic submarines the backbone of world navies? Why haven't surface ships been relegated to carrier protection and amphibious operations? Why not make SLBMs out of RIM-66s and Standard missiles and Tomahawks and ASROCs? If you want force projection why wouldn't the ambiguity of the presence of submarines be enough to scare your enemies?
>>64756527>Nobody wants to work on themWell, not nobody but it does take a special kind of sailor to be locked in an airtight, sunless, crowded bottle for months at a time.
I assume we're going to see a lot more surface ships with fewer than 150 men in board in the future and perhaps more emphasis on subs and light carriers. This is the age of quantity, big things are rarely worth the price.

>>64757657Noted. Thanks for the advice man. I’m learning a lot and trying to do my research and from what I’ve gathered Airborne and Light Infantry are better than mech, I’ll keep that in mind.
okay guys so im at DLI. i realized you can just plug the lesson text into chatgpt and make super passages that you can listen to and read for guaranteed high scores. it works. not just on me.the problem is... ive told so many people about it. in casual conversation. im going to shut up about it.whats the worst that can happen from this? i know that it's allowed. the problem is:and yes, though its a bad thing to say. im worried it'll detract from my high scores. ive seen people eavesdropping, whom i know were stressed from the course, light up like they discovered fire when i started talking about this method. obviously im not smart because of this, i didnt develop anything, i didnt make chatgpt, i just stumbled upon a way to use it to learn so much better. but i am afraid people will start getting higher scores and it'll detract from me. whats the worst that could happen? even if scoring changes, i'd be long gone by then. a lot of my class knows. shit. i will shut up about it though.anyway long wall of text, whats the worst that could happen? i do know that its allowed

>>64757895should i just claim credit now and make an announcement? teaching people how to do this method. its so crazy effective and eliminates any need for effort. but i dont know. im thinking if its just in the rumor mill, it'll die eventually. plus i've realized a lot of us are anti AI, especially women at DLI? for some reason, they usually have dogma against AI. im thinking it has to do with art and it taking over artistic pursuits. anyway not the point.i dont want it spreading to detract from myself. if its just in the rumor mill, its not a big deal. but if its spreading i might as well go full blast and receive credit by announcing it. i dont know. im willing to take any advice.

>>64757045We'd quit if they didn't keep making them uglier
Riced out Glocks are now just baseline Glocks.
>>64756988The biggest significant change is the extractor redesign. It's probably fine, but if there is going to be a fiasco with Gen 6 it will almost certainly involve the new extractor. Everything else is a straight step-up from Gen 5. You don't need to replace what you have right now, but when in the market for a new Glock there's no reason to seek anything else out imo. That is unless we start seeing guys with 10,000 rounds on theirs throwing extractor bits everywhere.
>>64756988At first I thought it looked good but then I realized it looks bad**The look of glocks was never the point to me but I guess I kind of liked the utilitarian and brutalist vibes.
