It depends on the camera. If it's an IP camera it might get a bit tricky, but CAT-5 to RCA adapters exist, so might be worth giving it a shot.

Photography is not based on merit, however.
>>
>>4466133
They just post records themselves on YouTube or Bandcamp
>>
>>4466140
Music is also not merit based. All of pop stars are industry plants. That doesn't mean shit. Art music still exists. Then there are clever pop stars like Charli XCX who find ways to penetrate into mainstream.

If you do good work and you know your audience then you will gather attention. An artist has to be sharp minded. Knowing how to market yourself is a key skill of being an artist. This lone wolf starving hermit artist is literal fiction. Nobody is coming to publish you. At. first you gotta make moves, network and market yourself.

>>4466141
>bandcamp
There is no such site for photobooks. Distribution of music is totally different from photography. Still new hotshot bands like Black Midi were signed with labels.
>>
>>4466141
That's like having an Instagram, not printing a photobook
>>
>>4466144
On bandcamp at least you can present your music in a dignified manner where you get your own page for an album and you can stylize the presentation of page and present everything in a structured manner.

They're basically toy cameras but they have plenty of reach when you put a full frame telephoto lens on them. Thing is, you can't really trust what you see because there's no OVF. Still, the reach is unmatched.

Summer of getting shit done edition

All video related questions and discussion is intended for this thread. Here we discuss techniques, gear and anything else related to capturing video footage. Please don't pretend to be an expert if you don't know what you're talking about. Kindly leave your ego at the door.
Posting short films/scripts or other work you've done is encouraged.
We tend to use and recommend DSLRs/mirrorless cameras because they provide phenomenal picture quality for their price, have large sensors (ie the same size used in high-end cinema cameras and higher) and have interchangeable lenses.
In contrast, consumer camcorders often have much smaller sensors and a fixed lens.

You can still buy resolve for $300 that rental thing is just if you need extra licenses of resolve to do stuff like vfx so you don’t need to send somebody a dongle. If you are an indy filmmaker you probably don’t need it.

Not a great photo, but mainly taken for documentary purposes.
This was in the royal academy for the visual arts, which was having a show for students finishing their studies.
This wall was in the process of being covered in photos of the wall. On the right is a Hasselblad, the person behind this was taking shots of the wall, 12 per roll, then developing and printing the roll and placing it on the wall. Was interesting to watch.

Another photo from the academy.
Most of the photos shown were not super great, but what they did better than what I see online most of the time was consistency of subject and long term projects.

Have you ever gotten a strong emotional response after viewing a specific phot, like you would in a movie ? Or maybe going to an exhibition or reading a book ? Or is photography just "pretty cool" at best ?
Pic related is the first response I got when searching " best art photography ever" online. While it's really good and impressive, I can't really say it makes me feel anything in my gut.

Post pics that make you feel something, inspiring photographers/books etc.

I agree with this, not all photography is art.
Some is.

an artform would involve skill, talent, craft, a process
the art of photography and the results themselves - photos, well there is a distinction there
are all photos art?
are all drawings art?

art may in a sense be a process
or is it the final result?

I have a feeling that we all knoe inherently what art is. And we can see when something is art or isn't
Photos can be art
and photography is definitely an art form

Art is just a word that was hijacked by commercial interests. It's a commodity which those interests built a walled garden around in order to control the product flow and keep spotty faced upstarts out. Now it seems that spotty faced upstarts defend the garden, into which they are not allowed, with all the 4chan rage they can muster.

Beauty doesn't need to be qualified with loaded words, it just is.

>start getting into film
>bought a fx3 and start shooting in the park to get the hang of everything, namely exposure.
>at the park today, two mexican guys park next to me and make conversation (I'm in the south, so its normal to make random convo, and I'm Mexican too)
>get a little nervous since it's hard to tell if cartel types or construction worker types
>conversation goes on and I get the feeling they are cool
>eventually they start suggesting me shoot a a video with the new car one of the guys bought
>i think to myself this could be pretty cool so I go with it and start shooting (my literal first shoot with talent if you will).
>as I'm shooting this, during some downtime some dumb bitch comes out of nowhere to ask if I can take pictures of her on her iPhone (i literally never take pictures on my iphone and still learning)
>take pictures, dumb bitch gets mad and tells me I need to auto focus on her face and makes a snide remark about how I'm the professional
>all of this is happening while I'm just trying to shoot some film

on one hand this is cool and actually fun but on the other hand it can be a lot of pressure. its good practice in my eyes to be able to do a quick exercise around filiming other people so I went with it. you have to literally think on the spot.

anyways just wanted to share cause it was kinda all over the place. the whole time i was with those mexican guys i was kinda nervous they were trying to steal my camera but they turned out to be chill.

Do any of yall know any other film cameras than the gen 3 Polaroid i have and possibly some tips for taking better pictures than these.

>do film cameras other than polaroid exist?

Even though polaroids are the biggest instant format available, they are still tiny. Only shoot subjects that fill almost the entire frame and where detail is not fundamental (e.g. a single, well framed object or a portrait)

Anyway, you have a gen 3 polaroid which even has manual controls through the app and you already ask for another camera even though your photos suck ass compositionally. You are a loser worthless gearfag
