Galletian Champions warscroll standardizing combat ranges is a nice change, as well as fixing Look Out Sir. Combat ranges led to bullshit situations where base size did much more to determine the viability of a unit than it should have. Being on a 32mm with 1" combat range should not have been the massive liability that it was.

Between that and having some kind of logical timing explicitly spelled out, 4e is better than 3e from a GHB perspective. Unfortunate that they changed every single warscroll to d3 mortals on a 2+.

On the spectrum of rubber forehead aliens to complete starfish aliens that are made out of silica and breathe methane, where are YOU specificially comfortable with. Does there come a point where an alien becomes too weird for you to "relate" to in order to include them in your games as playable races?

Personally I am fond of aliens that look plausibly like they could have evolved in a different world and have no distinguishable lineage to earth life, even if they share some superficial features.

I think Starfinder gives a decent in to the really weird worm-eel-tentacle gas giant aliens. Their tentacles/mouths are capable of manipulating human(oid) weaponry and they can fit in most human(oid) equipment fine.

The universe is big enough to contain the entire spectrum, and it's great having different agents in the galaxy with different ceilings of interaction you can have with them. With some aliens you can trade or fuck, with others you can make alliances or go to war, but some you can only observe in wonder...or be observed by.

I do sometimes, although I’m horrible at drawing and have a graphomotor dysfunction so… I’m experimenting. Since I was like 8 my dad showed me how to do “automatic drawing,” and I’ve slowly explored that over my life as a creative outlet.

Using it in RPGs though, I’ve had to learn to turn it on its head. Since I can’t really draw anything intentionally, what I do instead is sometimes use a drawing in place of a roll on an oracle or an inspiration table. So if there’s and enemy or a place or a concept I don’t know the specifics of yet, sometimes I’ll feel inspired to do an “automatic drawing,” interpret what I see in the chaos, and then make lines heavier and refine it with some extra lines or color until the drawing basically tells me what the enemy or place or thing is. And then I have a super cool unique piece of art to go with that thing.

This works for any game for me but I’ve been enjoying doing it with Kal Arath a lot.

This is possibly a silly question, but for those soloing games with target numbers for dice rolls (skill checks, etc.) do you have any particular tricks or rules of thumb for generating them or do you just go for your best judgment as though you were normally GMing? I'm on my second session of my first real attempt at a solo game (Worlds without Number using MUNE) and I can't help but feel like I'm just kind of fumbling on unopposed rolls where if I was making these same calls for actual players I'd be way more confident. Everything else feels pretty great so far.

Use a standard scale, like d20 roll over mork borg’s scale for example, and then tweak it as things make sense in your situation or world
Just outline like 4 numbers, so a child’s play, an easy, a normal, and a hard. From there, you can start from one of the four generally based on vibes and slide it up or down if you think it’s appropriate. More often than not I don’t slide it.

Unfortunately I don't got much to share at the moment aside from just doing lore and modeling my Zombie missions have the most work, with infection mechanics, breaking the ritual, extraction based missions, or if all goes to hell then it's stand the line or asset denial styled missions with unique scatter terrain like corpse piles, altars, or bodybags. I'm trying to get nice special infected zombies that don't look like nurgle demons, but it's not easy.

Kingdom Death is a tabletop miniature brand stared by Adam Poots and operated by himself and his Team that later spun off into a miniature based bored game funded by two very successful Kickstarter campaigns.

▶What is Kingdom Death: Monster?
Monster is a Nightmare Horror cooperative boss battler/miniature hobby game for 1-4 players about hope in a strange world of bizarre monstrosities and perpetually darkness. Players take on the role of survivors that band together to form a settlement, fighting monsters, crafting weapons and gear, and developing their civilization to ensure survival from generation to generation.

The Game is broken up into 3 phases:
1. During your Hunt Phase your band of survivors traverse the world of KD in pursuit of their quarry.

3. After the battle, your survivors wander home with loot in hand to begin the Settlement Phase. Arm yourself by developing new weapons and bizarre structures to prepare for next year's hunt.

Guys, I want to talk about HELLPIERCERS. I bought this game a bit ago because I thought it looked cool, and I've read it, and I don't know enough people weird enough to play it with me, and I can't stop thinking about it, and I just have to talk about it with someone.

HELLPIERCERS is a tactical tabletop RPG developed by SandyPug Games alongside a few people who did some dev work on some of the Lancer supplements. It casts the PCs as gnostic demigod heroes and veterans of the War in Heaven, who aided the forces of humanity in regaining their stolen gnosis and slaying the Demiurge, his Archons, and angelic generals. Having conquered Heaven and liberated the mortal plane from the tyranny of false divinity, they now cast their eyes downward, into Hell, where countless human souls remain enslaved by the demon lords below. Hellpiercers, armed with their god-slaying weapons, clad in armor forged from the corpses of angels, lead a war of liberation against the forces of Hell, to free the enslaved souls of every human who has ever lived.

I spell it in all-caps because it's title is rendered in all-caps. I'm pretty sure I'm not autistic, but I've never been tested, so who even fucking knows?

Thousand Year Reign Shattering Blade is the most modal (and therefor fiddly) weapon in the game. In practice, most unlockable weapons have less-varied effects. The blade is supposed to be old reliable, so it works with everything.

As for the lock system, every option costs resources, which you get from achieving objectives in STRATCOM and TACCOM.

Upgrades work on a tech tree, and each one unlocks either new options or whole new subsystems. This is just a few of them. The game starts at a relatively-low rules intensity, and increases rapidly the more shit you unlock. The unlocks are always at the table's discretion, so you never have to get anything new until and unless you're comfortable with what you already have.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.
