>>97358187Thank you for virtue signaling and now that Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle have their Beastmen tell me where are Khorngors?
>>97358430This. A lot of AI investment right now is literally a bubble that's about to burst because of companies entangling themselves in very irresponsible loans on top of irresponsible loans for something that isn't paying off. No one can pay the loans back, and calling them in will shatter the borrowers, so it's just a bunch of imaginary numbers moving around, inflating again and again, until something gives and it pops.
>>97358187For once something good. Now if they removed Primaris Marines and brought back the old ones...
>>97358673>The faggot C-suite managers running those companies into the ground just haven't found out yet that replacing people with chatGPT does, in fact, not work.If anything it's the layers of management that could stand to be replaced by AI. C-suite pay is insane and most just copy what other companies are doing(turning things into subscriptions etc). Middle management is a bunch of nepo dorks and people promoted until they're in over their heads.
Every once in a while there's a thread popping up about how badass and stronger 40k's setting is, but big time professional question ironically raised by an autistic friend of mine at the pub yesterday:Could the Imperium sucessfully afford to invade and take over Kirby's planet?
>>97368786Space Marines couldn't even take on Monster Hunter. 40K is absolutely bitchmade desu. They're the dekufrauds of scifi powerscaling conversations: only able to take on street tier settings.
>>97368786>Could the Imperium sucessfully afford to invade and take over Kirby's planet?A random butterfly turned out to be the Grim Reaper. Kirby's friends from Rick the Hamster to King DDD took out a primordial lifeform easily comparable to the Chaos Gods (I do not know the exact power scaling here since the Chaos Gods can just come back as long as their respective concept exists, but so does Void.)I wouldn't try the Exterminatus either, because John Carpenter's The Thing (furry mode) tried to crash a planet into Pop Star and got turned into roadkill about thirty seconds later.
>>97368786No faction in 40k can even beat Star Wars, let alone Kirby.
>>97368786Kirby’s official height is 8 inches tall. He struggles to eat basic waddle dees that are too tall much less a space marine. I know everyone here is sucking him/her off but I just don’t see it. If it was Smash bros kirby who’s a normal height then kirby would win.
>>97369816Kirby can eat metaphysical concepts like health bars.
>>97365148Honestly a very difficult choice. Depends on what you mean by "best" I guess.>>97366903This is a personal favorite of mine. There's one specific model in there that was sleeper OP.Nobody really talked about it, but GW would quietly nerf it over and over in following editions, because it was so overtuned.
>>97367866>The bright 'Eavy Metal style in the 2nd ed. rulebook sample photos was jettisoned almost immediately in the 3rd ed. rulebook.Incorrect. Go take a look at pages 17-32. The first part of the book that's in color.
>>97365148All great, but:CSM>Nids>SM>Guard>CSM is pure flavourmaxxing, and every option feels fun and nice to play.>Nids is too much of a powerhouse, but being able to tune every single bug in the book, including the goddamn worms, is simply too cool.>SM is nice all around, but feel like most chapter traits are a bit too quaint.>IG's doctrines are very cool, but too all over the place desu. I'm not one to bitch about balance, but some were really too shit to be enjoyed. Also don't like named regiments being allowed to go over the limit.I wish the Inquisitorial codices were a little bit better. Still great, but don't reach the peaks of excellence those 4 did. Also, we never got Alien Hunters and I'll be mad about it forever.>>97366903Probably the better 5th Edition Codex, but still not as good as what came out in 3rd and most of 4th, let alone the 3.5 dexes.>>97367944I think he meant as in fun and/or flavour. That's at least what every 4th Edition grog talks about. Doubt anyone cares about meta and waaacfaggotry for that edition.
>>97368383Nids were only strong if you played very specific lists like nidzilla, and even then they have very strong limitations.Overall 4th is quite balanced, except for 4th ed eldars when abusing falcons/Harlequins (harlequins were not even ment to be in the codex to begin with) chaos 3.5 had some bullshit when abused, and space marines could put in trouble some factions when abusing drop pods or assault cannons. But overall it's quite ok.
>>97368383>Also don't like named regiments being allowed to go over the limit. That did feel like an admission that the basic number for pleb player regiments wasn't going to be sufficient if you picked some of the "flavour" options. Of course that's an easy fix: increase the limit for everyone - I find 7 works fine providing you're not playing with arseholes, which you shouldn't be anyway.
don't care about impracticabilitydon't care about realismdon't care about feasibility don't care about highly autistic internally consistent character motivationsIs it cool?yes = i include itIs it uncool? no = who cares

>>97361131If I wanted sexy I'd rather just include sexy rogue types who wear no armor at all but instead rely on their dexterity or some kind of magical protection so they can go around running half naked and it still makes enough sense to not break immersion too bad. Or go with the barbarian aesthetic who dont wear because... they just dont.Having chicks in bikini heavy armor and the game treating them as having actual heavy armor breaks immersion and verisimilitude etc. too bad for me.

Is it possible?I like scifi as a genre because all the new tech that show us, but in terms of aesthetics, always looks like shit.Do you know any scifi RPG with good aesthetics? Even if it's just concepts, draws or artworks.PD: If someone is going to say 40k, I admit it has cool things, but I don't find it pleasant.

How much would/should changing the default setting from High Medieval to Late Bronze Age change the game? For example, lowering AC across the board to simulate the lack of general armour. How much would that affect balance?
why's /tg/ so fascinated with the bronze age?
>>97369501The Bronze Age actually had extremely complex civilizations with long distance trade routes. I'd go earlier or later than the Bronze Age if you want this dark and mysterious flavor.Even your religious theme fits ok in a historical European Dark Age period, given the ongoing mixing of European and semitic religions at the time. Until relatively recently, even regular judaists and christians believed in the existence of other gods, animistic spirits, etc. And even Rome fell to only 50k people in this period.
>>97369501The 2nd millenium BC had Egypt, the Hittites and Assyria right next to each other.Cornwall and the Baltic Sea were part of long trade routes.Your description sounds more like 4e's Points of Light.>>97369712I've been fascinated by the Bronze Age since I read this book as a kid.

>>97369494Hochland is i think, at this point, the least developed Province in the Empire, now with Nordland getting a lot of depth in the Salzenmund book and Ostland being the focus in 5e, along with that one MUD game set there.Maybe Wissenland sans Nuln or Ostermark is still more underdeveloped than Hochland though, since Hochland at least has the Long Rifle.Wasn't there a fan book about a hypothetical Capital city of Hochland, since GW themselves didn't confirm the capital for years

Back into the game with whatever minis I had from back in the day. I've seen a lot of people online talking about model arrangement inside units. I've heard if you want to field lets say a 20 man unit, if said unit is more tanky, it should be used as a 5 rows of 4 men front line but if it's a damage dealing unit, it should be 4 rows of 5. What's the explanation behind that? In my mind, the explanation being more models = more damage and more armor/toughness = less models hoping each model is less likely to kill. Is that correct?

>>97369126The catgirl brigade is a front by organized crime to draw attention away from themselves and remove smaller competition
>>97369240That'd be the sensible way to depict them, so it's strange that it's just headcanon and never specified in the text. If you want to go full future-criticism\satire today you'd make the corporations an impenetrable net of cooperation, conspiracy, and mutually assured destruction to really show how vast the threat to humanity is, and why the world of 2020 destroyed itself in a fuckoff war. Really low hanging fruit ripe for the picking, I can't imagine running contemporary Cyberpunk campaigns otherwise.
>>97369126There is a single mention of a legit gangster who controls gambling and prostitution in Asian town in the core book. I agree with you, it's incredibly dumb that we have a bunch of Disney gangs, but no Yakuza or Mafia.

What’s the edgiest tabletop game of all time
>>97369548I consider it the equivalent of a steak drowned in steak sauce. It’s a bit too focused on emphasizing the gore and misery of the situation that it eventually loses its shock value and starts feeling tedious after reading it a while. Doesn’t help it has fans who do nothing but chant “that’s the point, it’s supposed to be miserable to read” when people say it could be better.
>>97343357I think it's probably Kill Puppies for Satan, but that's by design. It is really just kind of taking the piss, especially because it wasn't designed to be played, and was really just the dev using it as an exercise in raging at his previous dev job.
>>97369548As someone who read everything Crossed in a massive marathon a few years back, I can comfortably say that the entire series is an endless descent deeper and deeper into disgusting depravity. It is the most foul misery porn I have read comic-wise and I've read some truly cursed series/one-shots like The Funnies. Crossed is nothing but people being given the worst possible ends for dozens/hundreds of issues. Nothing good ever happens, nothing worthwhile ever happens. It is just an endless flood of awful and worst of all, it has no artistic merit or educational moral to it.
>>97369662>>97369631>>97369597Thank you for the actual answers. I have to agree that it does get tedious with nothing ever happening and every group just all dying in gross miserable ways. My biggest problem was the Crossed+100 series where humans have their own headache inducing future speak and know next to nothing about Pre-Crossed society but somehow the religion of Islam survived intact to the point where women still wear Hijabs. You're right that nothing good ever happens. Every group that's doing well for themselves ends up dying horribly because of some small oversight/plot contrivance. The flotilla of Americans in WIsh you were here, the incest rape ranch in family values, etc.
>>97369729Happy to give input on the topic. I enjoyed Hitman and Preacher and most of War Zone, but Ennis has dumped out and helped push a trend for the bleakest, most miserable shit to be published that it disgusts me. >You're right that nothing good ever happens. Every group that's doing well for themselves ends up dying horribly because of some small oversight/plot contrivance. There was that one Crossed series where due to some absolutely retarded plot, the "free" people voluntarily let the Crossed take over. I only ever so vaguely remember it, but some woman fell in love/lust with a Crossed warlord and damned an entire bastion of post-Crossed humanity that had begun to survive all just for nothing, really. Zero redeeming qualities to any and all Crossed content.

Against a “removal” deck, you’re always at risk of having your entire game plan dismantled if you don’t play the same type of deck and engage in a passive stare-down where whoever commits to the board first gets punished. The board state barely progresses when excessive removal is involved because, by design, it deletes any attempt to meaningfully establish threats or develop presence.Meanwhile, the removal deck gains a massive advantage: every creature or permanent you play is answered efficiently, forcing you to overextend or waste turns accomplishing nothing. Then the removal deck untaps and threatens even more removal, effectively pushing the other player into burning through all their resources or playing scared and slow, both of which dramatically favor the removal player and lead to drawn-out, lopsided games. The only real out is playing hyper-cheap aggro that wins before removal can line up, or relying on cards that function as standalone win conditions, both clear examples of bad design. This is how we end up in FIRE design territory, where every card needs to generate immediate value or warp the game on entry, purely because of a card type that can answer almost everything, often at a mana advantage, and cannot realistically be interacted with except by playing equally pushed threats.Removal holds the game and the opponent hostage, forcing every card to be designed with its existence in mind.If removal weren’t such an omnipresent issue, we’d see far more meaningful protection, recursion, or resilience options, instead of those effects being confined to a tiny fraction of Magic’s 30,000 plus unique cards.Removal spells are the epitome of pig slop, the laziest form of non-interactive faux-interaction, designed for players who don’t actually want to engage with what their opponent is doing, only delete it.
>>97369754Counter(heh)argumentThere are plenty of cards that will give you some value if removed by your opponent There are no cards that give you value when countered by your opponent
