For me I ask myself "is it important this unit wins its combats, and especially the combats that might be close?"

If the answer is yes I build command models.

Example: I want my block of 15 gors in combats and I want them winning so I build command for the extra combat resolution.

I dont care if my ungors with bows with a melee and dont ever expect them to, so I skip command for them
>>
>>97354229
Champion and musician are usually good to have on almost every unit. Champ especially is very valuable because of the challenge mechanic.

Banners are not worth putting on units units whose role is to slow down and/or harass the enemy. Your enemy gets 50pts for every banner he/she captures so having a banner on a unit of 5 marauder horsemen almost doubles the point you give when they eventually die.
>>
>>97354229
Modelwise yes, because I like the look of it. But in terms of rules I wouldn't take banners for chaff or horsemen. The extra CR isn't going to help them in any meaningful way (unless I'm specifically going for some kind of magic banner) and when they inevitably do get killed they won't give out free points like candy. The musician is good on everyone imo.

As I suspected, lorefagging is demonic.

Anyways, don't be too worked up about the lore, even for the Empire. It's all contradictory anyways. Just pick a cool elector miniature and paint him in the colours you like.

It has been speculated repeatedly that puckee has a friend on the mod team, and I understand that argument. I think the truth is more pathetic, though. The mod is mad that he's being "told what to do" and is actively allowing spamming so people correctly trying to get this idiot gone don't "win."

I think in general bandits are commonly thought of as brutes living outside of society and robbing/raping/murdering their way through a usually meager existence.
What if they're not counting on common armed robbery, but instead have more of a black market vibe going on? And when you meet them, they're not doing anything to harm you but trying to get through with whatever illicit goods they're transporting. Like some abducted young females and / or illegal reagents/magic stuff/weapons.
The party would be challenged to notice what is happening, and then be challenged to decide what course of action to take. Perhaps they keep their heads down and avoid conflict, or they demand a bribe. Or they attack then and there (make sure the bandits form a visibly possibly deadly encounter). They might also follow the bandits back and try to free the captives silently... Or become the ambushing party and see if they can kill some bandits in their sleep.

Another option is to have two groups be mid-combat, and both claim the others to be bandits. What group will they help out and "kingmake"? Or will they just let the combat run its course? Will they "third party" the whole lot and take all the loot? Or will they pacify the fight and try to get them to leave each other alone, thereby becoming part of the issue of whose goods are these anyway. You might sprinkle some evidence to the truth around the scene for players who wish to engage in that route or just keep it a coin toss.

Third option is the bandits are con artists of some type and will try to swindle the party. Snake oil, soothsaying or acting like victims and pickpocketing. Or they might send the party out to a nearby dungeon and hope to loot the corpses after the inevitable failure.

Fourth option is that bandits prefer soft targets, and adventuring parties are not such targets. So they try to get away. Up to the party to decide if they give chase or leave it.

Make the bandits real bastards. Like not the fantasy type of baby-eating bastard but like the real world type of thug bastard that is all too familiar to modern day people.

Fighting them will feel very satisfying.
>>
Instead of money, the bandits demands some useless mundane item from the group. Depending how interested your group is for the reason behind it you spin the story further

>the bandits demand every scissors you have on hand
>turns out they actually used to be normal farmers but are now enslaved by a hag
>the hag uses all those scissors to create a scissor-golem
>she sends it out to terrorize the coutryside

Frenopolis is a gamified tetragrammaton clothed in the memetic zeitgeist.

This thread is for discussion and development logging.

It's easiest to learn with YGO/MTG experience.

It's not for sale, but you can request a free physical 2-player 90 card set by following the instructions in the description of this video:

Playmats have arrived and will be sent out with the playtesting kits. Anyone who already received a set with the shipping label name "Current Resident" should be receiving one by 1/10/26. If your shipping label was not sent to "Current Resident", email or DM me on telegram so I can send you one.

Writing General: 'festive' edition

Welcome to /wg/, the thread for all /tg/ related writing. Whether you're plotting your campaign, trying to come up with a character backstory, or just trying to write some setting fluff, this is the place to post it. You don't even have a campaign, just an idea you want to develop? You're welcome here. While the rest of /tg/ is arguing over monstergirl mating and which way rivers are supposed to flow, we're here to help you turn your thoughts into an actual finished product.

As the successor to the Storythreads, we're also open to /tg/ related fanfiction (D&D, Warhammer, Battletech, whatever). In fact, if you've written any vaguely /tg/-related short stories, you can try them out here. We also have flash-fiction challenges from time to time.

There's a discord for writers here
https://discord.gg/6AwKHGF

The previous thread can still be found in the archive here

And finally an archive of /tg/ fiction can be found here:

Well-written story, as always. Although I always thought that the Backrooms are most effective as horror when there's no controlling them; they're not magic in the traditional sense, something that can be affected by rituals or channelling some ethereal force. They're just unknowable, a break in reality. Maybe you can learn enough to map them, but how or why they come to be are beyond human understanding.

This is actually a really interesting concept. Assassins' Guilds are very common tropes in fantasy but they're rarely female, and I don't think I've ever heard of an organisation of anti-assassins.

Also, 'Midwife of Serpents' is an extremely cool name for the head of an all-female assassins' guild.

Any good RPGs for doorkicking combat? Something kinda slick but hyper lethal, letting the PCs take down most mooks pretty quickly but always having the chance to lose it all with poor tactics. hasnt there been some form of the idea floated that tattooine is like some sort of force leyline, everything important naturally occurs around it, near it, on it. Maybe im entirely making it up.
>>
>>97354301
It’s entirely possible that there are some who have presented that as a possible explanation.

But keep in mind that we’re deep into speculative canon. Because official canon is that, nobody’s noticed. Or at least nobody has canonically said anything about it.

But Humans are a creature that is instinctively wired to find patterns (sometimes even if there isn’t really a pattern). So I just can’t accept that absolutely nobody in-universe has noticed how often Tatooine comes up in Galactic history. So one can imagine the possibility of rampant conspiracy theories that might arise from this.
>>
>>97353960
Isn't it located near the end of a fairly relevant hyperspace lane? Which is why Hutts want to have presence there, not even counting money from having podracing championships there, which is also competition to those in Malastre?
>>
File: Gardulla-FFp58.png (798 KB, 581x780)
798 KB

>>97354731
Canonically Jabba has a presence there because Gardulla (the female Hutt you can see behind Jabba in TPM) created the Boonta Eve on Tatooine using Damask's money in order to slowly try and gain power from under Jabba's influence, but he took over it which is why we see him presenting in TPM. Presumably the Boonta Eve is more popular than the Malastare championships
It's all in the Plagueis book
As for the hyperspace thing, it's in a spur of the Triellus Trade Route which is the biggest trading route in the Outer Rim, but the main popular part does not go through Tatooine

Why is the ghost a generic combatant? Ghosts used to be something special, you encountered one and maybe it knew it was a ghost, maybe it didn't. We encountered one once that was a looping messenger whom died before he delivered his message centuries ago, and putting him to rest was a fun challenge. Make it something interesting, the ghost of a long dead adventurer seeking his missing party, a noble bound to a family heirloon worn by one of the zombies or dropped in the dungeon at some point, the ghost of a priestess unable to find rest as her corpse lies on cursed ground...
Don't make it a combat encounter, use your brain.
