I meant that I don’t really understand the lore and the vibes for the steampunk world yet. I have to look into it. I should really be working on JITE stuff so I don’t think I should make a steampunk build yet but I’m also pleasantly surprised at how kaiju stuff is going honestly

Which is rather absurd because the expanded lore explained humanity is doomed without that rock and such.

Just like GW we produce both physical, plastic products along with media, meaning digital but also books and comics. We've got a contract with a company that delivers an application service specifically so we can track emissions for ESG reporting. I bet GW does too.

>Wiley himself is buttblasted the rebels are hiding out in the south side of the city where apparently his army can't reach and drinking heavily. By the time Light hacks drones, infiltrates his fortress and generally action movie heroes his way to his lair, Wiley is having a full-on existential crisis about whether he should've turned on that machine at all. The entire Protomen saga culminates in a fucking Liquid Snake-style knife fight between two old men that ends with Light trying to convince him to turn off the machine with Emily's music box, and Wily having his robot guards beat the shit out of him in a fit of rage
>Then it all ends with Light being publicly executed like he merely imagined in Act II, though not before he sees a flash of blue in the crowd-and the final song confirmed Mega Man does rejoin the fight
Well goddamn, that's a bittersweet takeaway. Anyone take that drawback in the Mega Man Classic jump?

Wound-based death spirals only being appropriate for specific campaign genres is why I generally prefer Injury-based Health. Instead of taking losing a numerical value of HP or taking increasing penalties that murder your rolls, I'd rather your actions become more restricted the more injured you are.

Injured Legs? Halved movement.
Injured Arm? Can't use it for most actions.
Injured Head? Lose your Reaction or equivalent.
Injured Eye? Reduced perception and ranged attack distance.
And so on and so forth until you succumb to your injuries. Gradually narrow down the options instead of just making the PCs useless because they fail everything due to penalties.

So how bad was the life of civilians in the Clan occupation zones? 3.5e handled this by giving elves a bonus to Intelligence, which is truly WotC's official only trait that makes them stronger. At the heart of your post, yes. Yet this is all we got and now even the stat bonus for species has been removed.

Why do elves deserve to be better wizards? Because they are documented as getting their powers from years of study and hard work. A being that can live 5 times longer than a human has much more time to study and develop. If we were being real, there would be no comparison, although with a game interested in balance, they won't make a dichotomy that severe.

Why can't Druids wield bows?

>bow: wood
>arrow: wood
>arrowhead: bone or flint

Even crossbows can be made wholly of wood and shoot bone-tipped bolts. If anything, making these things actually requires very good understanding of trees and properties of wood.
Regardless of all that, the whole non-metal theme is a meme. If you can cook stuff in a bronze cauldron, you should be allowed to use a bronze helmet too.

it's not a depiction, Drids are the Muslim equivalent of a Friar. As in a non-ordained priest, but is educated in their ways. So a Druid would be a muslim educated in priesthood but has not officially joined the priesthood yet.

>>97369151
>Druids are named after what they are based on: the priests of Celtic societies in Western Europe from Antiquity.
Yes, but also no. D&D druids have very little relation to ancient Celtic Druids. They weren't "nature worshippers," but a hereditary class of priests/jurists/"white-collar" types.

I really don't see the connection the other anon is making with Muslim imams. Presumably the scimitar-thing is due to historical Druid's carrying sickles (because "hurr, curved blade!" I guess).
>>
>>97381270
In a similar vein, I just think of Druids as more interested in becoming an animal to fight or just hitting things with sticks they find. I don't really see them "training" with a weapon in militaristic style, something you would need to wield a bow. And yes, for lack of a better term, I guess I would say that Druids are too "stupid" to be good with weapons traditionally. Do exceptions exist? Sure, but a true depiction wouldn't use a blade or bow.

/tg/ products are fairly unique in that it's actually pretty simple to make them these days, with a plethora of products to assist in making and playtesting your game. Making your own games helps understand why games are made the way they are, as well as being fun to do.

Have a slightly weird problem. My game is about a bunch of wandering ronin thematically (not literal feudal japan ronin, but nomadic warriors that fit the same archetype) and I have a clash between intended gameplay and the mechanics: the players automatically get bonuses when using their weapons for a roll, but I don't want the game to be combat focused. Without the bonus it feels thematically strange that they're mechanically "bad" at using their weapon, but games become what their mechanics are and with the bonus suddenly violence becomes your best bet for a lot of problems.

I've considered saying
>you get a bonus to using The Warrior's signature tool, which could be a weapon, shield, piece of armour, or anything else
But I'm honestly having a real hard time of thinking about what people would realistically pick instead of weapons. Even if your PC put down the sword for the lute or a paintbrush it's hard to find opportunities to leverage something like that compared to a blade.

>>97381978
>>97382505
>>97382174
I'm going to go across the grain and suggest the opposite. If your system is blatantly d20/OSR the comparisons to 5e will exist for anyone who picks it up. There's nothing inherently wrong with "Roll twice and take the better result", which 5e didn't invent, players like rolling extra dice, and any speed difference with +flat mods will be completely negligible.

Not saying advantage/disadvantage good and everything else bad, though. It depends on the rest of the system. It's a bit silly to introduce advantage here if all over bonuses are +2 or whatever, be consistent with it. Do you want bonuses to stack? Do you use flat numbers for bonuses or penalties elsewhere? Do you want more consistency in outcomes? Do you care about granularity? There's a ton of reasons not to use it, but if you really like it don't be allergic to it
>>
>>97384995
anon, wandering warriors will choose violence as their first way to solve problems. this is the thematically correct way to look at it, mechanical bonuses or not.
You apparently want a game about wanderers who can fight and defend themselves but it's not their desired mode of solving problems.
So ryutama or the like, playing a wandering merchant or a craftsman who can defend themselves.
If you want people to not choose violence instantly the best way to regulate behaviour is experience. If you give more exp for non violent solutions they will gravitate towards those for meta reasons if anything. Or make situations that aren't best solved with violence the bread and butter of the game. Or give a similar bonus to other things outside of combat so they have an incentive to use said thing instead of constantly fighting
>>
>>97371541
Not a publisher per say, But if all you are looking for is printed material (rather than someone to sell them for you) I remember seeing a few online publishers that can cheaply print presized small books. Look for local family owned print shops too. Somewhere where you can actually talk to someone and they want your money.
>>
>>97385154
>it's not their desired mode of solving problems.
I honestly don't mind if they desire it or resort to it first, I just want it so that when they use violence it's
>I'm doing this because it's what my character would do or it seems like a good idea
and not
>I'm doing this because violence gives me the higher rolling number
but I think
>make situations that aren't best solved with violence the bread and butter of the game. Or give a similar bonus to other things outside of combat
Are my best options. The former should be fine because it's a game about getting tangled in the local affairs of wherever you end up at, and with the latter skills are freeform and give an equivalent bonus to the one you get from your weapon, but they can stack in theory so if you really wanted you could give yourself a combat background and stack it with the weapon bonus, but I suppose that's balanced by the fact you're specialising and giving up potential versatility elsewhere.
>>
>>97384731

what does everyone think of this early abstracted star map for my system? it shows the Federation, Hegemony and ASI empire territories as coloured hexes, star systems as circles, and capital systems as a fancier star. The Neutral Zone is represented by white hexes.
I'm thinking that when the players are traveling at FTL speeds, each hex on the map represents a hyperspace jump, which takes about a day. Ships are fueled in an amount of jumps.
>>
How fast do you like your FTL? I definitely want it slow enough that you'd have rooms you sleep in on your spaceship but I don't know if it should be closer to a day or a week per light year.
>>
>>97380535
I haven't actually specified the speed, but my idea is that the actual FTL travel time is relatively short, less than 15 minutes or so, but the maximum distance a ship can travel without having recharge its warp drive is relatively short, making FTL travel consists of jumps between nearby systems, with the time between the jumps lasting several days. Also, large gravity wells interfere with FTL travel, so ships must drop out of FTL in the outer solar system and the final leg of the journey to habitable planets (which are invariably located closer to the star) must be done with conventional drives, and could takes hours or days depending on the mass of the star.
